ZOS is sick of them too, thus the crown crates. If you thought 25$ was bad...

Both of those scenarios would be terrible, and I'd much rather have higher priced cosmetic fluff items than higher costing DLC or pay2win
And on a side note I bought the dro mathra senche and never regretted it. As I don't subscribe, I see it as an extra payment to ZOS as a thank you, plus it looks bad ass
I guess you don't pvp, the dro mathra is a giant neon "come kill me" sign.

People can spend their hard earned money however they wish, and they can spend their expendable income however they want to. I've only personally gotten one crown store mount (wolf) but that was out of my monthly crown allotment for my sub.
But if people wanna spend £25 on a mount, it's absolutely their porogative to do so.
Did a new mount get released today? Thought the horse was later this month?
I'm one of those fools, don't wanna miss something.

Or maybe they just don't cower at the thought of a fight in a PvP area.

If by fight you mean 40 players converging on your glowing ass.
I really wish ZOS had just stuck with the subscription model.
Every time a company goes cash shop the majority of players lose.
Of course I would expect the whales to viciously defend the legitimacy of their cherished "exclusivity."
I am well aware the mindset of modern materialist culture is "it is only worth having if others don't."
Much like "it is not enough that I should succeed. Others must fail."
Know who said that? The towering intellect, GHENGIS KHAN
My hero.

Go out to a restaurant, usually once a week, and we could easily spend $60 to $100 for 2 hours of family time and a good meal. So far any money I have spent on ESO has given me, my wife, my sister and one of my daughters 100's of hours of fun and entertainment. All for $60 a month sub fee'sNow... That's a bargain in my book.
Yes, it would be awesome to have cool mounts for a cheaper price, but they are in business to make money and being a small business owner my self I understand that concept. You may not agree with it, but that's the way it is.

Yeah I'm sure as a small business owner you understand that mounts cost zos maybe 200-300$ in employee salary, has zero overhead and is entirely profit. It's like charging 25$ for fountain soda.

I imagine OP is speaking of the alliance mounts that were released last week. They are the first not-limited mounts to be priced the same as limited recolor ones (2500 Crowns). Granted, they have that well-designed armor (that doesn't change regardless of riding skill upgrades) and the alliance-locked look gimmick, but they don't have new animations so I don't really agree with the price.
But I am in no place to judge people who decide to buy it, of course. I did pay 2500 Crowns for a mount before (the Clouded Senche) and would gladly do it again for another mount that fits one of my characters.
On a side note, the Dominion one is the only horse of that color in the game, which is a shame because it is the coat color Frost has in Skyrim, which is also my favourite coat color for horses. I would like to see a version of it with white markings and mane and without the armor in the store, it was how I expected the Palomino horse to be when it was announced, before we saw pics.
What is it that causes so many people with money to be so totally incapable of compassion or understanding from another person's point of view?
Almost every post I see, and every even moderately wealthy person I have ever known seems to only see less fortunate people as "lazy, stupid, degenerate, worthless, whiny, useless bums."
I suppose it gives them a false sense of security, as if the series of unfortunate circumstances that led to these people being in less fortunate financial circumstances could NEVER possibly happen to THEM (where have I heard THAT before), despite 7 in 10 Americans having less than $1000 in savings.
When robot automation replaces YOUR job, I wonder how much compassionate understanding the world will show YOU? Hopefully more than your noble @#% has managed to muster here.
Or maybe it is that to achieve wealth requires an absence of moral conscience?
Whatever the case, it is surely possible to make a point about supporting a company's business model without insulting people who don't, for WHATEVER reason.

@Abeille Wasn't the Nightmare (fire) horse 2500 crowns? It was introduced the day the crown store was. I guess maybe other folks may not remember, or came to the game after it was removed?
If ZOS didn't sell such cosmetic items at a higher price, then one of two things would happen.
1) ZOS increases the price of DLC
2) ZOS sells things in the store that are pay2win
Both of those scenarios would be terrible, and I'd much rather have higher priced cosmetic fluff items than higher costing DLC or pay2win

you missed option 3: More people buy them.

I completely forgot about the Nightmare Courser! It was added so long ago. Yes, it was sold for 2500 Crowns. Was it removed? I thought it was still there. I can't check right now, cannot connect to server (I think it's my internet being funny, though, not the game).

The hilarious thing is that they're making waaaaay less money than they would if they had more reasonably priced items on the store.WalksonGraves wrote: »How zos justifies selling cosmetic items more expensive than dlc is a mystery. Be nice to be qble to actually buy something without feeling like an idiot for spending that much money on a bauble. 10$ should be the cap for cosmetics. Ten people buying something for $25 vs. a hundred people buying something for $5. And it would be that drastic of a difference at the very least.
This company is just so *** awful at understanding its customers and its own game.
