Anyone else sick of 25$ mounts?

How zos justifies selling cosmetic items more expensive than dlc is a mystery. Be nice to be qble to actually buy something without feeling like an idiot for spending that much money on a bauble. 10$ should be the cap for cosmetics. I want that zombie horse about as bad as I wanted the black camel but what holds me back is how I view players that bought the glowing tiger mount: fools who wasted their money.

If ZOS didn't sell such cosmetic items at a higher price, then one of two things would happen.

    1) ZOS increases the price of DLC
    2) ZOS sells things in the store that are pay2win

Both of those scenarios would be terrible, and I'd much rather have higher priced cosmetic fluff items than higher costing DLC or pay2win :)

And on a side note I bought the dro mathra senche and never regretted it. As I don't subscribe, I see it as an extra payment to ZOS as a thank you, plus it looks bad ass :D

I don't buy them, but someone does. I assume ZOS has done their market research and is pricing things in such a way to keep the doors open.

    I don't complain about that.

np here. like the mounts i already have. love that dota2 is completely free and makes tons of money (and is thus developed and managed very well) because some people spend tens of thousands of dollars on hats. i don't need cosmetics, i'm super happy if a game i play does well because others throw money at shiny things

No one really has to buy a mount with crowns - to begin with, the standard horse for 10k gold is as good as any other mount. so it is purely a cosmetic thing, to own a crown mount or several. See it as a neat add-on, which someone can buy, if he/she really thinks he/she cannot live without it, even for a higher price. If the quality is good, then why not. I am just against highly priced mounts, which are not well done - I cannot really think of one yet, guess I liked most of them. Same goes for pets, no one really needs pets in this game, they are just following you around. But still it can be nice to have one or the other.

So in the end it comes down to this - if you really want it, even for a higher price, then go for it - otherwise ignore it. No one is ripped off with it - they know the price in advance and what they will get - what is not the case with crown store RNG crates. I hope they will never get to the live servers ever, because those are clearly a rip off.

I'm afraid this sounds more like a you problem than a ZOS problem, OP.

In all MMO's, there's cosmetics for sale and the prices around here are pretty much in line with every other company out there.

People can spend their hard earned money however they wish, and they can spend their expendable income however they want to. I've only personally gotten one crown store mount (wolf) but that was out of my monthly crown allotment for my sub.

But if people wanna spend £25 on a mount, it's absolutely their porogative to do so.

If you find enjoyment in it, I don't think you can say the money was wasted.
That goes for expensive cosmetic too. There are a few cosmetic options that would severally improve my enjoyment of the game if they were added, and I wouldn't mind paying for that (through direct purchase, of course, not gambling).

Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

So basically exactly how it is now except no crown store?

So a huge chunk of ZOS' income gone?

So they have to lay people off and cut back on updates/fixes?

I always wonder about people, who think that buying a game is waste of money. You buy something, what entertains you and you get far more entertainment out of it than having a couple of pints in a pub or going to the movies. And in an MMO you might even meet people, where you would never have a chance to meet them in any other way - from countries, which you might eventually never visit in your whole life. You might even establish friendships with them, which go far beyond the game. I have a couple of such friendships, which started in a game, but even both sides do not play this game anymore, we are still friends and have email contact and some I even met in real life later on. People I would have never met without a game.

I have only bought one expensive Mount, a Guar, because of Rollie the Guar in Morrowind. You really get to a Guar doing that quest.

Anyway, do like me, vote with your wallet. If you really want it, buy it when it goes on sale, if it goes on sale.
