is this game getting too easy?

I've just changed factions and class for the first time, gone from blue to red and instead of playing a sorc, have just started my first DK that I haven't a clue how to play.

Really really enjoying it so far, most not too hard but also not one click easy, still died over and over killing the crows mother in Crows Wood until another player showed up.

They will never be able to please everyone, personally I prefer difficult to too easy any day, but I have a lot of spare time at the moment to play, I fully understand others that don't, wanting to feel like they are getting somewhere.

Especially when the NPCs try to tell you. how scary a certain creature is and that death awaits.

Best example yesterday. All these craglorn bosses have only 130k health, that's very low.
But this Mantikora Mother thing beat them all... 60k health. I killed it in 3 shots.
It's not satisfying at all. I must solo pledge dungeons to find something challenging.

Then perhapse you should go play a game explicitly ballanced to challenge an individual game through level, enemy design and counter design?

I cant say Darksouls, cuz that offends people, so I'ma just list it's merits instead.

But I want an Elder Scrolls game, not Dark Souls or whatever.
The game used to be quite challenging at some point.
But all this QQ on the forums and probably the CP system has destroyed this.

It's not too much to ask for a challenge. I understand that everyone should be able to complete content and that not every single enemy should give you a struggle. But if you can just walk over them, then it's not right either.

There is no way you are soloing any of the new dungeons. So yeah they have been making the game harder. Some dungeons take a minimum of 40 minutes. Like cradle of Shadows or WGT all for a training or prosperous monster piece.

I gurantee when you and everybody first started playing you were killed by a mud crab at least once.

After years or however long you have been playing and working towards making your player stronger, don't you want to feel strong?

Well i started playing i think a month ago. A MONTH! MMOs used to be a thing to waste years on, there are people in UO who are still there since beta... that's why i don't think "a lowbie can be killed by a mudcrab" is a good excuse for nerfing the overall difficulty. Because you're a lowbie only that long. In a month or two or maybe four depending on your playtime, you're an experienced player, in a year or two you're vet. If ZoS is aiming for the people who quit in a couple of months it's their choice but it won't make a lasting mmo.

This game is freaking hard, even if people say its easy. Btw this "easy" is mostly used by people who got carried by more skilled players.

If you think that this game is TOO EASY, plz show me the vid (or invite me in a group) where u solo vICP. Personally i think it is possible for a nightblade only. Because developers add 1 stupid mechanics called "Lever" and I can't seem to pull both in 1 second. And remember this content is more than 1 year old.

Btw vMA is not a challenge, it used to be a hard only for the first month after release.

I can't see where the game is "freaking hard" - but hey, I'm a DarkSouls player. (as many people seem to throw that game around in here)

I've just came back to the game, leveled a stamina templar, got him some average equip for 50k gold and went solo into a normal dungeon - which are designed to be 4 man content - and soloed it.

After that I thought "hey let's see what veteran has to offer" - and guess what - I'm able to solo it aswell.

Of course there are harder dungeons out there like vICP - but - that is no argument for the game not being too easy in some aspects. Taking a 4 man instance and calling it "hard" because it is not soloable is laughable logic at best.

Designing a 4 man dungeon that is soloable is - by definition - too easy. Because it obviously is - not - designed for 4 people the proper way. If I with my average equipped stamina templar can solo the vet version - then any half afk 4 man group laughs at this very same dungeon while it should be at least properly scaled content for them. (not difficult, not easy)

I'm happy with the game and I like putting myself up to the test by throwing myself at harder content that isn't designed for me - so I have nothing to complain about. But that doesn't take away the fact that these particular dungeons (only did 2 solo so far) aren't designed properly - and thereby are "too easy".

Wow that's good. I've been playing for 2 years. I have over 560 CP'S. This game has changed soo much over that time. The grind is always the same. I have all the gear I want but grinding undaunted on alts is a chore. There are trials and handmade dungeons. Don't you feel those to be challenging?

It's too much to ask for a challenge when it comes at the cost of peoples hard earned DPS or enjoyment.

And I dont say that with a horse in the race. I main, a tank.

The older dungeons seem soo easy now bcz the game has changed soo much over the last 2 years. ZOS has been adding content for the new game mechanics but it's also keeping the other older content. Which I appreciate.

Sometimes I just want to get d rubedite so I will use activity finder for waywest sewers. I can get tons of it there and some gold and some armor and I don't have to sink a ton of time on the dungeon. Plus I can carry a bad group and still have fun. Unlike WGT or cradle of Shadows or ICP.

It is like the single player games where players mod or use console commands to become God-like, killing everything with a stare and a flick of the wrist. How they aren't bored out of their minds is amazing.

Killing a monsterous boss in an epic fight should make you feel powerful. Killing the monsterous terror in a few hits is so unrewarding.

I think we need a way to up the difficulty if we want a challenge and get better rewards from doing so.

Not what I ment. I'm just talking about the difference between feeling powerful and feeling bored. I'm not saying that this game is like one shotting mobs in god-mode. I'm saying that some people like that, and the only way they feel powerful is if nothing can possibly stand in their way. For myself, overcoming challenges is what makes me feel powerful. Facerolling content (and much of this game is just that) make me feel bored, not powerful.

But those are the older dungeons that existed before the current game mechanics. Since ZOS changed the direction of the game to what it is and the insane dps guys can pull of now, the dungeons have changed to match that.
