What is this imp vault system?!?!?!?

I have been saving for a month my keys for the imp city vault and I just went into ONE vault and it converted them all into SEVENTEEN bone keys and now I can't even enter the other ones or get other keys?!?!?!? WTH!??!?!?!?!?

How was this thought up?!??!? I've just lost a load of work and it's just gone and like WHAT!? Why would it convert like that/?!?!??!?! Was I expected to spend every key 1 at a time dieing and respawning at base pulling from bank and starting over again for the rest of time?!??!?!

WHAT!?!?!?!?

I have never complained about ESO in my life I love ESO but WHAT!?

That sounds bugged. It's supposed to let you enter any vault with those keys.

Says I need 60 shards to enter any of them that aren't the skeleton room.

Yeah its a bug. As of right now you have to take out 60 at a time to make sure u don't have everything turned into the saem key.

If you would prefer to use all of them on the same vault then yes. But some people would prefer to use them on different vaults so having all their trophies converted into the same keys that is not an improvement. I would be very upset if I wanted to use half my trophies on the agility vaults and then take the other half to the ICP vault only to find out all of my trophies were used up at one of the agility vaults.

Exactly this. I had on me 120 of each different type and was going to walk around the ring opening each vault and then selling the contents as I had always done. I walked into the first "Trophy Room" and all of the stacks converted into keys for that one vault.

This is unacceptable. Nobody is going to travel back to their base to get a fresh stack for each vault. WHO CAME UP WITH THIS CRAP?

So is this a bug? Or intended. Feels like a bug, but people say on other threads intended.

Sorry to necro this but it still confuses me.

Surely all the trophies should just open all the chests, why the need to convert anything, at all?

It is intentional. All key fragment types can be converted into all vault key types now.

If you want to spread your key fragments out around different vaults, then get a friend to hide outside and hold your spares so that you only enter each vault with 2 or 3 stacks. Or put a few stacks in a letter, mail them to a friend and get them bounced back.

That's stupid.

At least make all the Imperial City keys interchangeable then? I understand the potential concern for the difference in cost between keys for the City and keys for the Dungeons, but at least let the two be used interchangeably among their own same-cost keys...
