Your first dungeon run

my first was fungal grotto. i was like a level 18 nb standing outside and noticing a massive bunch of people so i asked- can i join...
I had no idea how to setup for pve or what pve was actually. i remember my skill bar was like a ll single player dps. much like another post- i was not prepared for this. id played in my own world for months-
i thought i was showing theses guys something with my dark cloak, shadowy disguise, ambush, poison injection , disguise again combo. like a ninja i thought i was.... never saw anything like me alright!
aah after one game a guy politely suggested i watch some videos . how embarrassing.

but i gotta say- those early days were the best- i remember the excitement of storming a dungeon- i didn't know what was going on- being surrounded by al this explosion of light and colour, while I'm doing single target surprise attack ! it was a little overwhelming- but luckily i met some awesome people, who have become guild mates and helped craft me training armour and got me started. not that I'm a vet- but i make it a point to try and do the same now. one of the best parts of the game imo, is getting thru a dungeon with a mix of experience levels. when u get to the point of farming the same dungeon for the 20th time just for a piece of a set- you know its not the same thrill. .

Hmmn in beta played in spindle normal for a bit anyway random pug we did get to final boss... Live the first dungeon was vet banished cells....

Banished cells. was around level12, asked group chat for ppl to join and found a tank (who was level 2) and a healer at around level 12.... What I didn't realise at the time is that they were both VR levels (I had no idea what that was).. I was like 'Are you sure you can tank it at your level?' And 'We'll need a 4th'. They were 'Nah, we'll be good - lets go' ... First fight, I killed a guy, looked around and all the other mobs were down too.. I thought 'Hm, I'm not much of a DD'

Tank D/C'd after a while and ended up following the other guy around while he wrecked everything and I wondered off at the end without a clue what just happened?

Well, I remember my first contact with a group dungeon and it was Fungal Grotto.

When I was asked if I'm DD, I replied: "No, I'm a sorcerer"

My first attempt was Banished Cells, back in early April 2014 with a group of random people who were asking for more participants in zone chat. None of us had any idea of what we were doing, so we did not make it past the first group of mobs (no healer, no tank, all newbies with no aoe).

Oh I remember it very well

It was Banished Cells. I was ~10lvl NB khajit with bow. We couldn't find a tank so we decided to go as 3dd+heal (who was my roommate). But we were wiping a lot on 2nd boss clannfear because he and his shadows killed us. After that we found a tank and succesfully killed it. I remember it so well because this was the moment where I realised how important tanks are (and how hard to find them)

And that's why I decided to create a tank when I got bored with khajit.

Beta in february , fungal grotto as a tank lvl 12.
Was trying to do my best to get the feel of tankink in ESO and it was really overwhelming so much mob , so much awarness to see the charged heavy attack, the script for interruption ...meanwhile after 2 taunt and 2 block I was out of stamina . The first boss let me a sour taste as he atually killed me two time. After the first boss we completed the dungeon without too much trouble.

More than two years ago, but I remember well. Probably one of my favorite memories from the game.
My first dungeon was Banished Cells. I was a DD with a bow. Our Argonian healer had some magicka issues and let the group die too many times. I picked up a restoration staff and I offered to help him. I guess my Khajiit just read a book which unlocked the first skill from the restoration staff tree.
It changed everything. My Khajiit NB DD with bow became a Khajiit NB healer. Not the optimal race and class, but I never wanted to delete him or keep him in a DD way. I discover a new role with him, so he deserved to take on it.

I remember I spend my attributes points any old how. Some in health, some in magicka, some in stamina, to have a balanced character. That time when I did not understand what a build is and probably just wear the gear I picked up.

My first I was level 26 and my guild leader decided I had to experience them so he grouped with me, made me lead and had me run 2 randoms. We got Arx Corinium first then City of Ash 2nd and in both I was more a passenger as we 2 manned them barely getting a hit in while at with insane DPS he owned everything one hitting most things.

Things have come a long way since then with my running trials and such.

My very first was actually black heart haven (Jan-feb of this year) and I got the group by hanging around the dock asking if people wanted to run it. (this was after I entered alone on my Breton DK rocking full heavy random armour with duel wield), safe to say I got rolled. Once I found a group, 3 dps and a healer, we had so much fun running through it learning all the mechanics, last boss was definitely a struggle without a tank though. Pretty sure we ended up running the rest of the DC zone dungeons and that really set me up with group content. Before that I was a solo scrub with no direction in the game, I ended up seeking out advice on these forums actually and set myself up and pretty much ran the dailies from level 45 up until v16

banished cells during open beta / stress test. i joined as healer (put a single point into grand healing on my sorc with lvl 1 resto) we completed it, but there were casualties on the way

It was Fungal Grotto. A group of total strangers. We died so often and we were noobs so of course nobody had a repair kit on them, so one guy had to go back to town to repair. Unfortunately, while there, he stole something and was then stopped by guards. Also unfortunately, all of the gear he was wearing was stolen, so the guard confiscated that, too.

Only done one - a 'pledge' and got an impen Molag Kena Shoulder. But I just didn't enjoy the whole dungeon thing and I've never run one since.

This thread makes me sad. I knew everything about the first dungeon I was going into because I didn't want to be the one to ruin the dungeon for the 3 other people in there with me.

Being the noob who does everything wrong is not, was not and never will be a good thing. I cannot understand the attitude that you do something without having any idea about it.

First one was Banished Cell. Might have done the one in Grahtwood back in 2014, plus one in Riften the same year. Not ventured into another group dungeon since. Back in 2014 most players were in the learning process. Finding groups was very easy as there were a multitude of players making their way through the zones for the first time.

My first dungeon was Spindleclutch, first pledge was Fungal. Was such a noob back then ;-) Heavy armor, magicka sorc, no enchants with a one-handed axe.

Spindleclutch. I found the dungeon while exploring Glenumbra for the first time and went for a wander in, wondering what was so special about this dungeon to make it earn crossed torches on the map.
It wasn't long before I came back out again and went on my merry way...

For many of us, this first experience was when the game itself was young and there were no guides dissecting the fights. So it was not as easy to know what to expect (which was part of the fun, as we were all noobs back then).

def this lol.... i think i was about the same lvl too on my magblade.... walked in and was like... wow there are a lot of spiders.... then it all started and thought.... " I GOT THIS!! " .. nope didnt have it... lol... walked out shortly after

I like venturing into the new dungeons as they're released solo (usually on normal difficulty) just for the hell of it now to learn as much as I can and so I can swear profusely at my monitor without people hearing it in TS.
I also get bored with other people telling me what the mechanics are before I have a chance to learn it for myself.

Vet spindleclutch on my healer with guildies when we were around vr7. We were bored and looking for something different, since we had been mostly pvping.

I remember wiping on the first pack of mobs. Other then that i dont remember much outside of several wipes and spamming the crap out of BoL trying to keep a NB with 14k health up.

i do not remember my first dungeon run but it was probably fungal grotto (EP), and I was likely a temp healer!

You weren't a noob, just a meta trailblazer. Many magicka builds run heavy armor ATM in Cyrodiil

Spindleclutch, back in beta. Got together with a group of four players, though I pretty much only remember the final boss. It took us a while to figure out how to deal with the room filling effects. At some point someone ran out of gems and was reviving at the start after each wipe. But everyone had a good attitude, and despite a dozen deaths, we kept at it until we beat the dungeon.

My fist dungeon was definitely FG. I was dragged in there by my nephew who got me into the game. He also made me go to PVP for the first time. The only thing I really remember about both was that I had not managed to find any shoes yet and was barefoot.
