vMA with bad traits vs Normal Weapons with good traits

Which is better?
I've been working on vMA and still need to grind out a precise/sharpened/nirnhoned lightning staff (I'm not that picky), a sharpened or nirnhoned 2h, and one more sharpened axe/dagger but I'm taking it slow. Only really doing 1 - 2 runs a week so that I can place on the leaderboard and that way I get 2 weapons for one run.

Currently, I've got a Charged Maelstrom 2H. Now I know charged is an awful trait for that weapon but the extra weapon damage and the enchant are pretty awesome. Is it worth using this weapon over a normal sharpened 2h with enchants/poisons? Should I chuck it?

But thats often very hard to achieve even for coordinated regular vet trial groups, which is why sharpened almost always win out. My sharp leki mace/dagger out damages my vMA weapons most of the time, unless i know someone is wearing night mothers, then vMA wins.

But precise is the second best trait, pretty useable in certain builds, bad traits (for DPS) are training or poweredSarcasm is something too serious to be taken lightly

It depends on the weapon.
2H Sharpened non set item is better than Charged vMA 2H
Sharpened Inferno Non-set staff is better than Non sharpened vMA Destro
The exception is DW IF you are planning on PVE with a heavy dot rotation like stam DK. The boost in Weapon Damage on your DoTs is significant enough to make up for the bad trait.Wood Elf Stam NB (PVP)

No offence here, but its wrong. Your leki duals can't outparse vMA duals (insert any trait here) just because of the unique enchantment on them. Of course in pve.

You do not just automatically get 10k dps by wielding two DW vMA weapons and hitting flurry once in a while. An end-game build using BiS equipment in a good trial group might get 10k DPS but it will be much less than that for your typical PvE group player.
For example, in my case I got a few DW vMA weapons with half-decent traits but testing them in vMA I get around 10% less DPS using the half-good vMA trait weapons than I do with sharpened Night Mother's daggers. Of course this is *with* weaving flurry with Blood Craze and Poison Injection like you should with vMA weapons.
Now the bad-trait vMA Bow stays on my back bar and is only used for buffs and Volley so that *does* give more DPS than a sharpened bow but a weapon rarely used on your back bar is much different that you main bar weapons.

But don't most weapons that are legendary, sharpened, and with an "irresistible damage" (decrease health) enchant going to be better than poorly traited Master/Maelstrom weapons?Want to enjoy the game more? Try both PvP (crybabies) and PvE (carebears). You'll get a better perspective on everyone's opinion.

i seriously doubt you own a pair of vMA weapons.
welp when you finally get them, dont be TOO disappointed. It is AT MOST 10k dps increase with perfect traits, as Reorx mentioned above.
but okay to answer your question, yes im well aware of what flurry is.
