Hi there,
I am sure I am not the only one who is not really satisfied with the new trait system. It's of course an improvement over the older version, but there is still room for more improvements I think.
So I want to suggest a discussion on how to change some trait effects to make them more interesting. The overall idea would be:
every trait is useful for everybody, to a varying degree of course, but the differences should be lesser than now. All considerations here are just my point of view, which I hope will be improved as well by your contributions to the discussion.
By the way: I am not talking about
Trained and
Prosperous here, ZOS already reacted to the nonsense on having them on engdame items.
It is my impression that the usefulness of the traits much depends if they are to be found on light/medium or heavy armor.
The (alphabetically) first three traits,
Divine,
Impenetrable and
Infused are also the usually most useful ones.
Divine and Infused are flexible in use, because you can change your enchantment or Mundus stone accordingly.
Impenetrable is of course great for PvP. Maybe for leveling as well, because of the durability bonus.
In my point of view, all three should stay as they are.Nirnhoned: a very expensive trait if you craft it, increases physcial and spell resistance, but does anybody use it nowadays (we are talking about armour here, right)?
Reinforced: armor increase. Interesting for tanks wearing heavy armor maybe, but I guess there are better other tank traits. Quite useless on light or medium armour.
Sturdy: Blocking cost reduction. Great for tanks, sometimes for others too?
Well fitted: Run und dodge cost reduction. Very situational. Usefull in PvP.
Except sturdy for tanks, I assume these traits to be relatively less useful and quite far away from the idea expressed initially to be of good use (of varying degree) for everyone.
How to improve these? Here I depend on your ideas, I personally have two of them:
- Make well fitted a slight general stamina cost reduction, summerizing current sturdy and current well fitted traits so to say. This way, the trait will become interesting for everyone and somewhat competitive to the other traits
- New Reinforced could be kind of a defense bundle, summerizing current Nirnhorned and current Reinforced.
Well, just my two cents. Maybe you have even better ideas on how to improve the armour trait system, especially the four last ones? Please post them here!
