Gold mat drop rate ridiculous

They drop about 1 alloy every 450 rubedite ore refined and 1 wax every 200 silk/hide refined at the moment.

In the past 8 days of me doing my writs on two different characters...I have acquired...1 wax. That's it. No survey's, no temps, no kutas, no rosin etc. I do have lots of repair kits and white items to sell though...the F&*K?

You need to consider the other mats too and not just the gold. By your logic you'd probably need to refine 50 for a guaranteed green, 100 for a blue, and 150 for a purple.

I usually get 3-4 golds per 100 raw mats. Drop rate seems fine.

No need. As you continue playing, you will sometimes get good outcomes and sometimes get bad. Don't fixate on small samples.

Also it is funny that some people think I am lying about such a minimal thing ha. I'm not asking for free gold mats or anything in any way shape or form. I appreciate the majority who realize this is a situation that happens to far too many people too often and an increase in the drop rate, albeit not a huge increase, should be implemented. This is just my most recent farm haul, I expect (hope rather) this weekends results will vary significantly. I spend the majority of my game time farming in one way or another. Averaging 2-3 hours play per day I like to try to farm for around an hour, I would just like to have some sort of guarantee to this 5% drop rate.

lol "as I continue playing" I have over 70 days play time, please don't poorly assume that I have just started the game, while yes my play time has decreased drastically in the last 6 months I still play every day after work. I am not new to farming, I am not new to any of this, and if you had been playing since launch (on console or PC) and have been farming regularly throughout the drop rate has been decreased far to much.

Ive refined 43 rubedo before and got 3 wax & Ive also done 1000+ and got none. The RNG is ludicrous

It's what happens when You cross the divines. RNGesus ends up punishing you.

Drop rates from refining are fine. I've never experienced it anywhere near as bad as you did.

Similar for me.

20 days worth of writs turned in. 1 Alloy, 1 Wax 3 Rosin and a bunch of useless trait stones and intricate pieces.

Writs should at least give a purple temper instead of just junk 90% of the time.

Mistake. I've taked in more gold matts recently than I csn recall ever before.

I hate these threads. One person runs into a bad rng spell and starts claiming ZOS nerfed the drop rate and everyone jumps on the bandwagon.

You get at least 1 gold mat per full stack refined. Period.

It has always been that way, if you aren't getting them at that rate, I promise, eventually it will all even out.

I constantly get temp alloys just from refining whatever my hireling brings me, I would say one per week, and my hireling definitely doesn't give me a full stack.

Continuing to claim ZOS nerfed the drop rate is half the reason why suddenly the price of gold mats sky rocketed and everyone is still buying them.

People can easily have differing opinions, some more than others, but facts cannot be denied

Between the chance to get a gold mat from the crate itself and the chance to get some more from refining mats from potential surveys it's honestly quite the booster.

Sadly getting goldmats seems to be balance around multiple chars per account doing writs and getting hireling mats.

From my experience you need ~4 chars to selfsustain with hirelings + writs every day. Everything on top is luxury to sell or test.

It's not the drop rate; it's the RNG.

Note that that does NOT excuse it. Good design would have failsafes to protect players from the peculiarities of RNG. Straight RNG is poor design.

The drop rate seems unreasonably low to me but not by much. There are are just too many sets and builds in this game. I can see players with only one or two characters thinking it's ok but when you have 8+ it's too costly/time consuming.

In addition the changes to the game now are happening fast and furiously compared to the past. These updates often require new gear sets and upgrades.

Top quality isn't supposed to be something effortlessly achieved though. Many MMOs out there make it WAY harder to do, and usually use P2W methods to enhance it because otherwise it's impossibly hard.

The gathering for refining takes A LOT OF TIME for poor results (my return from 4k rubedite ore is 2.5% or 1 every 450 ore) especially if your gathering times coincide with peak play periods.
I will still do a gather session while i'm collecting the surveys, but no way i'm running around like a headless chook from node to node for 4hrs a day to get tempers

On-topic: Gold tempers are in deed rare, but over a long time they tend to stack, if you don't overuse them. Some people will just gold every piece that they came across or craft, then whine they are out of gold and/or tempers.
