for the benefit of us alleyway dredges on console who don't live in the promised land of PC can you let us know where you got the price of the crowncrates from and what the prices are? was it PTS?
"Loot Crates" seem a bit overpriced in crowns and the drop rate on the current stuff causes some unrest when RNG goes against you.
Maybe give the ESO+ Members the ability or a token to get 1 Free crate a month??? (without using the 1500 crowns they get now)
- It would encourage people to subscribe to ESO+
- It would provide another benefit to membership
- A Crate token could possibly be used for other things???

I don't want free gambling tokens, I want to be able to buy digital goods at set prices. These gambling boxes are a complete travesty.

not gonna happen
not gonna happen
Honestly it has a good shot at happening.
The benefits to ZOS for doing this heavily outweighs any cons.
@UltimaJoe777 hit the nail on the head with his comment.

Crates are not over priced. They are just priced. It's a choice to buy and there is no valid reason in your thread for Zos to provide any craft for free.

I doubt they scrap all the work into it already, they are coming. I am just trying to offer ideas they could do to mitigate costs and retain monthly paying members.
I respect your opinion and also think the game is heading down a path that could lead us into a money sink in the future.

Thanks for your thoughts, but I stated why it may be a good idea and several people responded in agreement. I think those reasons are not invalid through an opinion.
As far as overpriced: The PTS thread is showing the results of what people get who buy 10 crates. The same amount of crowns could have purchased those items for 70% less if/when they were available. The choice to buy is irrelevant in determining whether they are overpriced.
Thanks again for you thoughts!

Eh, they scrapped the spellcrafting system, I think there's still a chance for them to scrap what they have for this system. Keep in mind that the only thing they'd be scrapping are a tiny handful of UI elements. Crate icons, Pacrooti's interface, that sort of thing. All the items are still good and, if put on the store, would still make tons and tons of money. I think it's OK for the marketing department to sit down, think hard, and say "you know what? We messed up." Other departments have already done that and the game is better for it.

The Spellcrafting concept itself is not scrapped, it is just on hold.

@UltimaJoe777
Spell crafting is in the same void as jewelry crafting has been for 30 months.
Its been out on a shelf and collecting dust. A distant memory for Zos.

Just because some people like it doesn't make it a great idea. Heck, people always like getting something free or something extra. Doesn't make it a good idea.
The crates are a business decision. If your idea plays well for the business decision the it would be a good idea, however, I do not see any thoughts that support it being a good business decision. It would have little effect on subscriber rates, if any affect. I don't see someone thinking they should sub for a free crate every month.
But thank you for your thoughts.

So since they are adding these crates you don't want one for free?
I understand disagreeing with the crates but I doubt they are going away, might as well make the best of it and of you can get free items then why not.
I doubt this will happen but maybe, it's worth a shot anyways.

Nah, they're well aware it is wanted and want to add it but are waiting for the right time. No one can say when that time is though... Could be Update 13, could be Update 31...
