I'm not who you quoted but I'll answer your question anyway. The crown crates are awful, the drop rate is awful, the whole crown gems thing is awful, the debasement of Pacrooti is awful. There is not a single thing about this system that I like, I think it is non-transparent and predatory. I have no desire to vindicate this system whatsoever and I want absolutely nothing to do with it.

Eh, they scrapped the spellcrafting system, I think there's still a chance for them to scrap what they have for this system. Keep in mind that the only thing they'd be scrapping are a tiny handful of UI elements. Crate icons, Pacrooti's interface, that sort of thing. All the items are still good and, if put on the store, would still make tons and tons of money. I think it's OK for the marketing department to sit down, think hard, and say "you know what? We messed up." Other departments have already done that and the game is better for it.

The Spellcrafting concept itself is not scrapped, it is just on hold.

They didn't. They said they will add Spellcrafting and Jewelry Crafting when the time is right, but never anything about free crates by any means.

It's the principle of the matter. After having tested them on the PTS, I have every intention of boycotting them on Live. If offered some for free, I will not open them.

I don't support ESO+ members getting free crown crates even as an ESO+ member but if ZOS were to add that as an incentive, 1 crate a month I think is too much. 1 crate a quarter would be a better idea.

Since there's probably no Q4 DLC, I would have been all right with a one-time bundle of five crates as an Armaments DLC.

Everybody's mileage varies, but since it's included with the sub it's a bonus not a manipulative gamble. Basically a free set of booster packs for the deck you've already built.

But since ZOS lacks that kind of foresight, I wouldn't be opposed to subscribers being able to convert crowns to gems while they're subbed. That would probably net more sales than the crates, and you could just buy the *** mount with the crowns you get with the sub anyway. No double dipping.

The right time will be after they decide to have a dev work on it. No one has been working on it and it didn't get past concept before it was put on the shelve. The lead dev it was assigned to left the company and it was never re-assigned.

Won't be update 13 and won't be anytime soon if ever.

I had no opinion on the crates until I tried them on PTS.

They mostly contain inferior crown poison, potions, drink, and food. Useless .. since crafted consumables are much better.

I'm not knocking anyone who likes the crates. After trying them, I can see that the crates are not for me. Crowns cost real money whether one subscribes or outright buys them. The contents of the crates would very, VERY rarely be worth it.

This topic is about a free crate for subscribers. I am a subscriber. I think if a person subscribed just to get a free crate, then that person would very likely feel cheated every month.

About the only thing that is going to keep me around after the drop these abominations called loot crates is if the ESO plus subs can purchase the items you would otherwise have to gamble for.

But, they are not going to do that so I will not be sticking around to see the next gambeling crate.

Unless they actually say otherwise though we don't know what is or isn't being worked on. In fact, we know of nothing coming beyond Update 12 but Player Housing.
