Again a PVP concern that has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with PVE.

Does anyone have real numbers of PVP vs. PVE players.

It seems like a small vocal PVP minority is having an impact on overall game play for those of us who never PVP.

    Enough with the nerfs.
To be fair though, the poisons that OP is complaining about are really only useful at all in PVP. A nerf to them wouldn't affect PVE at all.

You're trying to argue with a PvE player wearing blinds... you're not going to get through... I'm sure the guy will pick something else to blame once PvP is removed.

Pretty much they won't nerf posions I think. main reason is they do keep players from being unkillable and using unlimited resources and thats why they want folks to use them. It balances pvp in a way. Its possibly why they buffed them instead of nerfing them. So don't expect any removal or nerf towards the poison system.

    • The entire champion system

    Please, and thank you.

@UltimaJoe777 I think nobody plays Azura because the game is balanced around CP, which makes non-cp fights subpar for a number of reasons.

Champion Passives can neutralize each other though. In fact, those that do not utilize the means to reduce all the extra damage people do with them is more likely to get one-shotted than not.

Now let's see if Zenimax ever makes a campaign that negates set bonuses :p If they do, that would truly leave everything up to skill and ability combos.

Or at least add "to NPC enemies" so PVE people can still make use of poisons. After killing the same four yellows, they finally came back with a guy using the 60% increase magicka poison. After 1 blazing shield my magicka reserves were run dry and I died lol
You're enabling people with no skill to win fights instead of learning how to play the game. Now I know a lot of skilled people use them too, but they are over the god damn top.
I don't want them nerfed, I just want them gone from PVP, forever.
You've had your fun, now let's get rid of them.

Still here? I thought you where banned.. Btw poison are good and if you cannot counter a poison user l2p

I would prefer to keep poisons thank you. They are strong, but that's the idea, and anyone can use it. :) And if your struggling with it, shove some champion points in the reduce poison thingy ma bob.

Probably, those who use poisons would tell the same about radiant, wrecking blow, poison iniection or anything they don't like... :) Beside, poisons at least cannot be spammed, since they proc only 20% of times, while other skills can...

True enough, but we're talking about something that makes your skills cost 60% more. Just another way to help big groups crush smaller ones.
Every one of those skills you listed has a counter. There is little to no counter when your resource pool all of a sudden dries up because you were poisoned. If they worked in a way that would diminish your pool over time, that might make it more manageable, but it just sucks it all up after a couple of abilities, and it is rather hard to tell when you've been poisoned which makes it worse.

Come on, it's just for 6.4 seconds. You don't die if you pay a javelin 3200 mag instead of 2000 (I don't have my templar now, can't check) for 6.4 sec, neither you don't run out of magicka. You can use light/heavy attacks which cost nothing (counter...).

Let's say, if in those six secs you cast three skill, your increased cost will be of 3-4k magicka. It's not exactly a death sentence...

Assuming you're only dealing with one person running poisons (which usually isn't the case, either nobody in the group is running them or they all are), that's still 6.4 seconds where using heals, damage abilities, or mitigation abilities (shields) can completely screw over your resources. You can't sit and heavy attack for six seconds when you're outnumbered, you'll get rushed and destroyed.

Beyond a shadow of doubt, poisons can screw you over. They're lethal, powerful and game changing. So is a Templar that can go from near dead to full health with one button press, or a troll dk tank build that can withstand a 1vx beating and dot you to death. (I know this one well because I run it sometimes for poop and giggles).

There are counters to it. Blocking and using terrain being the biggest counters. Honestly guys, yeah you're gonna lose sometimes, especially when you're outnumbered, but when you're outnumbered your skill should earn you a win sometimes, not all the time. Manage expectations.

In my opinion I think poisons are very good when playing solo or small group play. The only reason why I love poisons is for those templars that do nothing but breath of life spam making it very hard to kill someone till they die. They also shouldn't stack I'm pretty sure they do stack if they do that should me removed so you don't have a Zerg procing 24 poisons. As in duels you can easily tell when someone is running poisons so just stop the duel and tell them to stop.

Do what works for you. If someone needs to use poisons to gain an advantage then more power to them. Idk about you but I would prefer to use whatever tools necessary to gain the upper hand.

This is the answer. Using legit skills and tactics is best option.

Asking for poisons to be removed is like asking for sorc frags to be removed instead of finding a way to counter them.

    [*] The entire champion system

They already did in 2 campaigns. However, almost nobody goes to Azura's Star...

Poor you guys. Azura pc eu is blooming.

Just put poisons on the list of thing that they never thought of balancing for PVP. Poisons are just the latest addition to the game that was not balanced. If we took all the the unbalanced skills out of the game you would have very little left on your bar. Any and all balancing ZOS does has nothing to do with PVP. They did not address the cheaters until it start affecting the PVE leader boards.

Simple fix: Let snakeblood reduce the effectiveness & durations of poisons and negative potion effects.

Would let glyphs still be better to use, and poisons would be mitigated. This would reward longer term characters than the 3 day max level PvP player (nothing wrong with that, but this would be like other skill lines, reward time spent developing a character). I think if they can code the differences on them, it would allow for different reductions to apply which could allow different tweaking to not nerf poisons into oblivion either.

Without poisons tanky tanks and healing tamplars are unkillable, so no. Poisons have to stay, the game is already a tanking contest.

They are killable - it just takes time and co-ordination. If it takes a lot of time then they are doing their job well. Look, I like my tank, and it just feels like they are trying to be phased out and replaced by everyone playing DPS. The poisons hit my tank harder than any other character.

Lose some useful armor traits, stack poison resistances in my CPs so I get crapped on by magicka builds, roll an argonian. Sounds like a plan. At least I wouldn't be giving up much to fight off poisons.

This is how balance works, with every choice you make in building your character there is a give and take. No one is entitled to be the best at everything, and you have to compromise somewhere. I mean, this balancing act is what makes pvp in rpgs unique and challenging, in that each person has to live with their gear and ability choices on the battlefield. If something doesn't work, you go back and find a way to survive within a playstyle you enjoy playing. However, there should always be an exploitable weakness to every build.

And yet there are multiple threads everyday about one-shot, burst damage too high, no skill proc sets ruining the game. Is the game a tanking contest or a burst damage competition?

    Both... and more.

There are threads just a short while ago abt how almost nobody used poisons and before that how the LA-SHARPspell pen reduced heavy armor to irrelevency.

Different builds, different play, different paths to victory.

When the game becomes just one thing, its likely dead.
