Keeping this "cute" attitude not brings back the players. Everyday you losing players due to those big problems. People are streaming and do you know what they think about "your" game? With constant disconnects and lags i'm %300 sure this game will not last for 5 years. Will be closed due to extreme stupidness lol.

This game has a much better chance at lasting that others do. I was playing Ark for a while, and even though it's an early access game, they have disappointed fans so often and made some rather poor choices. I no longer play it...ESO all the way! Even with the bugs and issues

As with current problems, i still play but everyone has own degree of patience. A quitting threat from me really, REALLY not important at all but when several people thinks same there will be a problem. We are paying for this game so we obviously expect a good customer care. This game isn't free at all. You cannot download it and play for free. If it's like that, nobody will say anything bad because it's free lol.

However, with current payment system, alot of players subbed so they expect this game worth for expectations. We just want *** playing time, Bugs can be dealed with time but server problems exist from beta.

When you say something added to game, add it, don't like just Gina did by saying "moments".

They said Megaservers has no lags, yet you cant properly play *** Cyrodiil. Constant disconnects, server failures, BUGS omg bugs everywhere...

2 years passed but nothing has changed yet they try hard to adding more new stuff rather than fixing old stuff so we have MORE bugs and server problems lol.

Somehow these recurring server issues make me feel old. The "Everything was much better/worse when I was younger!" kind of old.

When I was a rookie MMO-er back in 2008, I remember the Christmas eve emergency maintenance of the game I was playing at the time (which name, for reasons of preserving my sanity, must never be uttered [insert twitchy eyebrow here]). It extended into the new year. Fun was had by all.

Not really.

Move on some years to Closed ESO Beta - where downtime was to be expected. Was so much downtime, I pretty much got weaned off playing MMOs until ESO launch. Played until the original subscription only scheme was ditched (quit due to microtransaction traumas from said game that will remain unnamed), with pretty much the same schedule of downtimes as during Beta.

Returned to ESO a couple of months back because I missed being able to say:

"You know what? I don't have to hang around in front of my PC for hours waiting for this game to get back online! I could actually DO something!"

And today, I knew I was in for server downtime. I had been a good boy for the past previous days - only did dailies and picked up stuff from my hirelings. Gave RL top priority so that I could invest in some extra ESO time today.

Hope springs eternal, alright.

One would think I had learned by now, but I seem impervious to lessons of the past.

But yeah, back in the old days! Then we had REAL maintenances! Our mums/spouses had to wipe the cobwebs from our heads so that we could play when the servers were finally back up! Now, five days, that's something to whine about!

Meh. I feel old.

Time to make dinner. Issue will doubtlessly be fixed the moment the mince hits the frying pan. These maintenances are just too darn short.

There is not much to do against DDoS attacks other than using Anycast technology or adding more ressources (more servers, bandwidth, etc) which cost alot of money.

Mega Server

Pros: Everyone on the indicated platform gets to play together, no more segregating players and making them pay for a server transfer if the server they play on doesn't have enough people, or their friends play on a different server

Cons:
When one thing goes wrong, every single player gets affected instead of a cluster of servers while others remain fine and functioning.

Not here to complain, just dropping by the forums while they work out the kinks. I will say, downtime and such doesn't really bother me. I've been having such a blast with this game that some minor problems don't get under my skin. Hope everyone is enjoying their day. Hope to see you all in Tamriel soon.

I always enjoy reading the outrage because as someone that works in I.T. i understand when things can go wrong and why maintenance has to occur even if it is unexpected. Just the other day I had to make a fix to our antispam on our email server. So i told the office employees that email would be down for 5 minutes. They flipped, so i simply said, "I can either take the email down for 5 minutes, or for the rest of the day your inbox can be filled by every spam type message out there."
They then became silent and accepted the fact that I was the technology god and the trifling mortals should leave well enough alone.

The game is a lot better than WoW--the last MMOPRG I played. However, as far as stability is concerned, it's not even close. I hope Zenimax does something to improve performance of their megaservers. I feel a bit sorry for a company that can't iron out its issues.

Seems to be still an issue.

Tried multiple times, ESO gives me the advice to try to login later again.

For which reason redundancy and failover were invented. People aren't typically upset because the login servers break all the time. They are upset because there are known ways to prevent downtime even if something breaks.

Just to make sure we're all on the same page, the original ETA given some-pages back was that the issue would be resolved in a few moments. However, we ran into an issue, and are currently working on figuring out a new ETA. We can confidently say that resolution will no longer be a few minutes, though.

This situation reminds me so much of 1 day where the Wifi at the hotel I used to work stopped working suddenly. We had a terrible storm, our router stuff got seriously damaged and the free Wif we offer to the guests did not work for over 1 week, I guess you all can imagine the reactions of our guests.

Unfortuntely I was working that whole week

and I seriously understood why people were complaining, they paid the Wifi with the room price and we just could not give that service, not because we did not want to, but because something major happened.

The first thing we did though was obviously call the company who provide us the internet, but still, usually the person who is dealing with the guests cannot resolve the problem sadly! I stoppped giving "ETA" to my guests xD because basically everyday the internet company would tell me a different excuse for the delay and guests did not buy my *** anymore, so I simply apologized a hundred times every time I was yelled at.

Thank you @ZOS_GinaBruno for keeping us updated. We all can have our own opinion about how the servers have been working (or not working

) these past few weeks, but it is nice to have someone to communicate us what's going on there.

I hope it can get fixed soon because I started my holidays a few hours ago and all I wanted to do today was playing ESO

No ETA is better than a ETA. I don't get why people want a ETA in the first place... its going to lead to disappointment when it doesn't happen.
