For me pets could be summoned in similar way like nightblade shade - You summon it instantly , he is unkillable and dont require toggle but expires after some period of time.

No. No no no no no no no no no no no. Part of the benefit of the pets' readily-available nature is the ability to cast their specials without having to double-cast the skill when it's needed. Unless the time limit was something that could span a decent fight (120-240 seconds), then I would maybe consider partially agreeing, but knowing how things are normally implemented, it would be something paltry like 33 seconds. Even as an instant cast, it's just another thing I'd have to constantly recast once the time expires. They most certainly shouldn't be unkillable either, because that just means their effects will be nerfed into Oblivion/changed for the sake of PvP purposes.

I quite like the fact that they specifically are toggles for this very reason. Their benefits are reaped on use regardless of which bar they're on. Contrarily, when Magelight was a toggle, if you had a DPS bar and a defensive/buff bar, the Magelight slot was effectively wasted on the second bar because you won't be achieving any criticals with it anyway.

    Until they die
Then they have to be toggles.

Summon shade is good example of pet that does not require toggle. Sorc pets could work similar.
Summon Shade is a good example. It lasts 15 seconds. OP wants Sorc pets to last indefinitely and not be a toggle. That's horribly unbalanced. It would be OK for them to not be a toggle if they had a finite duration.

Explain how its unbalanced? Do you constantly find yourself saying man I would have beat that sorc if his pet didnt kill me? Man that sorc pet build kicked my ass? Sorc Pet builds are so OP!

Maybe if this was an option sorcs would be able to rejoin the meta in pvp even then its unliekly.

I mean I would be cool if the worked similar to the way nb pets worked as long as you take away the cast time.

Pets dont have to kill you to be op.
It could be the large heal that keeps you from killing the enemy.

But to me pets are not OP at the moment and need love.

SHADES last 15s, apply damage and reduce damage of enemy while being unkilkable. NOTE THATS DOT and enemy debuff for free. Morphs raise dmg or give you limited port.

Sorc Pets take up multiple slots, last until kilked. They provide their DOT. Period.
The morphs provide an on cluck ability for heal or more damage.

Even if i want to equate 15s+one slot+unkilkable with -last until killed+two slots it still seems sorc pets are down a debuff that occurs automatically on the base power.

My suggestion at the least would be to give soec pets a group minor buff, but alsi IMO replace the offensive on-click morphs with cc such as fear or the crystal root effect.

I agree with the OP: this should be a single bar skill, but also a timed skill. I don't think it should be a single bar, alive-until-it-dies skill because no other skill I'm aware of works that way. There should be some strategy involved in deciding when to drop a pet. The cast time combined with the duration and utility of the pet (drawing damage away from the caster) would be part of the strategic decision.

And this is trying to balance PvP v. PvE.

What change are you willing to have made to make this happen. The let shoudk change, give something up, in return. Despawn after 20 seconds is one thing.

It should not happen without giving somethings up.

I think you may misunderstand me. When I say timed, I mean a very short time.

I was quite surprised to see, in ESO, that daedric summons are "alive-until-it-dies." My response to you is the time should be seconds. Fifteen seconds base? I'm okay with that.

Nightblades can cast shades for longer than that, so I don't really see it as a problem.

i watched a sorc in pvp today take on a group of people with both pets out. clanfear and winged both heal when you hit the button again so every time he almost died he smacked them and was healed. That is why they are toggles. You honestly need to realize that making them a one use skill per life is a bit over powered.

They are descent for healing but so is breath of life and it doesn't take up two skill slots and you cant kill breath of life.
