A small idea to help magicka builds

I have read many people complaining about the fact that Magicka builds are less easy to play than stamina builds.

Personnally, the reasons why I decided not to invest some CP in stamina instead of magicka is that
1. Stamina is needed to use the speed boost.
2. Stamina is needed to block, dodge, interrupt and liberate oneself.

A way to help the magicka builds could be to
1. Decrease the stamina cost of the speed boost or add a magicka version
2. Make blocking, interrupting and liberating consume Magicka instead of Stamina when wielding a staff (this could be reflected by tweaking the animations to show that the character 'does something magical' when protecting himself or hitting an incanting enemy with their staff, or releasing himself from a foe's control).

Dodging being an inherently physical act, it would keep consuming stamina.

What do you think about those?

    Agreed. Pure Magika users HAVE to use stamina.

    Pure Stamina users dont need to use magika.

    Although there are zillions of topics like this, even I'm not a Magicka player anymore, just to try to prevent comments like "Magicka can't undo or prevents something that requires physical strength", Magicka could do most of what Stamina do:

    Block = Telekinesis
    Dodge Roll = Teleporting
    Sprint = Levitation

    You're right. Maybe a toggle for each of these actions should be implemented in the character menu, asking to specify whether the characters prefers to block, dodge, sprint, block, interrupt and liberate using stamina or "the magician way". The animations would also get tweaked. This may also extend to Rapid Maneuver.

    Such toggles could be a nice Mages Guild passive.

    Probably the best suggestion I've read. I like the 'with staff equipped' bit. Understandable if you use SnB that stamina would still be consumed. Dodge should be left as dodge. Unless bolt of lightning was reworked the 'teleport dodge' suggested above wouldn't work.

    Since fighter and mages guild skill lines have been changed to basically match why shouldn't you continue that trend? It made sense for those skill lines..

    Sprint is a meter that all class's share

    This would mean that a magic user will break a stamina users defense against magic faster and same for a stamina user will be able to break a magic users stamina defense fasters.

    Coming from a Stamina Nightblade perspective, I have to ask why you would want to change it.
    All my skills are cast from my Stamina pool, and I have to block and dodge from this as well. Meaning that quite often in prolonged fights I need to spam light attacks just to recoup some Stamina or I risk running out very quickly. Since Vigour is also Stamina-based, if I have run out of Stam I can't block, dodge, heal or anything else other than a couple of Magicka-based skills IF I have any slotted (which I usually don't) - but most frequently means I die.

    My new Magicka Templar, on the other hand, who up until yesterday was wielding a staff, has two available resource pools - one for the skills including healing and one for blocking and dodging. Which IMO is much better.
