You guys might want to create a game called: Fantasy World RPers Delight Simulator! This is an MMORPG! Market Boards are a thing. If you want realism, you shouldn't be playing a fantasy game. ZoS will see the light, i.e. One Tamriel. This game will continue to go the way of the standard MMOs, because certain things work right, and Guild Stores aren't one of those "right" things. Sorry to break it you all.
I'm sorry to break it to you, but you seem like you're new around here. This has come up over and over again since launch. The devs like the current system, most of the players like the current system, it is deeply entrenched in the structure of how the game works. It's not going to be changed, end of story.
Go play WoW if that's what you want so badly.
Believe is saw a post that said it was 51/49 or 49/51 on this topic. that sure doesn't seem like the majority like it... weird how that works.
Here's the most recent poll, its 51% to 48% for keeping the guild traders. While it's a slim majority, it is none the less a majority. That's how this works, weird or not.
Throw in the fact that the devs like what we have now and boom, time to guild up.
Going to save this quote from you, then in a year, when we have a beautiful market Board to along with the beautiful ONE TAMRIEL(which peeps also didn't want, mind you), ill be laughing with delight.
You are not the first to have said as much to me and will almost certainly not be the lastSo far no one has popped back up in three years and really stuck it to me about that glorious central market that's just right around the corner so I'm not worried.
Also, people have been asking for something like One Tamriel forever.
Far from the truth actually. We want a MARKET BOARD! NOT a AUCTION HIOUSE! There's a difference. Let's put an end to this notion that we want an Auction House.
Same thing by a different name. It's like calling a Home a Dwelling. Its still a place where someone lives.
If you really want to get specific, what you are calling a Market Board and others call an Auction House is just a Centralized Market.
Still, its only because people don't want to spend time searching for rare items, which makes them not rare anymore. Or, they want bargains, and they are not willing to search for them. I can shop at any Trading center in any decent sized town, that has 5 or more Kiosks, and find what I need. It may not be at the price I want, but that is on me to pay the prices there, or try to find a bargain. I don't expect to be able to find rare items without some effort, either by farming for them directly or by farming the kiosks.
Nah, let's be honest, people hate the centralized market idea because with that everybody would be able to sell their items without joining certain guilds, and of course those people don't want that because prices would go lower and lower.
People hate the central market idea because it is bland and boring and will be endlessly gamed by people like me, at least that's why I hate it.
Nope. People hate it because the control the current system. It is already gamed by people, in the meanwhile a lot of people can't sell their items because they need to join certain guilds to do that.
I don't hate the current system, those people feel like the virtual gold is important, that's ok, I only wish I could search the item i want without visiting a lot of cities, you find it fun, i find it boring.
People keep saying this kind of stuff: "the big guilds control the system," "it's gamed by rich players," "I can't sell anything without a stall in Rawl." The people who are actually in trading guilds and actually use the trading features in the game don't see any of this. My trading guild with a Mournhold trader is stereotyped from people outside the system as some dark syndicate of rich, malevolent market manipulators. In reality it's just a bunch of gamers selling stuff and buying raffle tickets with the occasional "LFG pledges" in guild chat.
Nice! I'm also a gamer with stuff i want to sell, and stuff i want to buy, but i can't sell because i'm not on any of those guilds (i shouldn't have to be in one to sell my stuff) and i can't buy because finding stuff is a pain.

Thanks, but I don't want to have to join certain guilds to sell my stuff. But thanks
To be honest @Nestor and @wayfarerx the guy doesn't listen, been shown other threads similar so its a waste of time.
He thinks we are some crazed monopoly based evil tycoons that want to rake cash out of the population, reality is we're the ones offering workarounds to what AH/MB crew think is a problem but is not, with a system that has plenty to offer for those that take the time and arent lazy. In fact its a buyers market right now for deals and very easy to sell stuff as we all know, it by not listening they never will and will trawl the stalls
@Thetwano tried to help ya, but you are having none of it. Hopefully you will help me when I find an aspect of the game you 'get' that i feel standing in the way of my enjoyment that I cant be bothered to learn
Honestly @Beardimus I just feel bad for the people that are absolutely sure that ZOS is, any day now, going to completely upend the guild trader economy and destroy some of the largest and most active guilds and the single largest gold sink in the game. All they have to do is find a guild, any guild really like @Nestor said, and they would be selling stuff easy, but they won't do it. They won't even sell in zone chat.
I feel bad for them that they are missing out on a fun part of the game and all that gold they could be making, but I've done all I can!

Yeppers! you'll be selling items like candy with a shop in cold harbor... oh wait.. peeps are never there... but wait.. that's the guild you were invited to.. and they only have a shop there.. so you're screwed.. but yes! it's sooo easy to sell items in this game!

You know people farm alchemy mats in the Hollow City, right? You know where the Coldharbour traders are, right? Have you actually joined these guilds and tried to sell stuff? Because it seems like you're just going full keyboard warrior here, facts on the ground be damned.

Did you read / listen to my point that you don't need a decent stall to sell? Selling in Guild works pretty well. No you didn't..... Amazing.

This is usually my experience as well. These players who act as if these guild traders work so well must be playing a different game than I am. That's all I can guess.

Actually it is very easy to sell stuff in the game, whether its in zone, or in trade guilds.
And Coldharbour as others have said, has a lot of players farming alchemy mats which sell good, and most people have the area on their to do list when buying stuf.
Sounds like a massive L2Trade issue.
Right?

I'm neither, as a buyer I wanted access to a few good stores from my bank, so joined some good trading guilds and quickly learnt how easy it is to also sell things, especially tailored to the location of your stall. From there I've really enjoyed all aspects of trading, in particular as a buyer. Hunting down them deals. And thus I feel for people that come from WOW and miss a trick on how to trade in this game, so help people understand
Are you Xbox? Can suggest a few mega guilds if you need.

No it's a massive game design issue.
You can't expect an economy that is broken up and scattered all over the place to work effectively. What you need is a robust economy that has easy access to the demand out there. Because most players are not going to spend hours

Sorry fella, I appreciate English isn't everyone's first language. I'll try to write less to keep it simpler.
Or you can try to articulate your point again I'm happy to listen, and try to help you further. I thought it was about central MB (AH) as you don't like the current effort required but perhaps it's not at all.
Naming Coldharbour as a poor selling point illustrates you have no idea what you are talking about, and you have ignored my point repeatedly about access to all Guild Stores you are in via a bank. I guess as its a very good point of mine, and you have no counter. Same for the other responses. But troll away fella, I'm off to do some more trading

So I feel weird asking this, but you've been to Earth, right? Like to a mall? I admit it's been a month or so since I went to a mall, but I specifically remember having to walk between the stores. YMMV I guess.

Context is hard, I get that.
