They are both as bad as each other

One effect competition the other doesn't.When something effects competition in have a problem with it.Something like scaling down Sanctum to get purple cp160 faster I don't care about.It doesn't affect competition on allow players to get gear faster and be ready for more difficult content.

It should be a progression, nothing should be handed to you, that's just silly, you don't learn anything

I can agree you should earn it.I just don't see it as big of a deal as some people unless it affect leaderboard than it ruins good sportsmanship.

Being in an end game guild, you will start to notice that you want players with experience rather than the gear, because even if they have the gear they still won't know that much and will have no progression at all and end up getting no where basically.
So that is why scaled gear is a horribly disgusting idea.

I get the idea behind this, being in end game guilds myself, but I still don't understand the big issue with getting scaled drops, like getting a cp120 drop in nSO or something. Yeah, I want players to know what they are doing, but I don't see the issue with them getting dungeon/trial gear drops below cp 160. A lot of this BoE gear is just sold anyway, or deconned for style mats.
