Adding Trial/monster sets into the crown store

It wouldn't be such a bad idea to add in trial/dungeon/monster sets into the crown store.... particularly the high demand sets such as Infallible aether and VO.

I'm willing to spend 1000 gold each for a set, of course... gold :)

Wouldn't that be pay to win? Like, most of the content on the crown store are purely cosmetic and people seem to be very happy about that.

Only way this could be remotely fair is releasing the cosmetic versions without traits or armor rating. Like releasing appearance options that change what you have on to appear as monster sets. Although, this would make it seem like someone has something they don't, and would take some of the appeal of getting monster sets away, the visual aspect.

No, no and nope. Selling gear in cash shop is p2w at its finest.
After this patch, its really easy to get the sets you want, since you can trade or buy them from your teammates. If you dont wanna farm, there are decent crafted options. For monster helmets, there's a merchant in Cyrodiil... So you have multiple options (but p2w should never be one of them).

Infallible Aether set isn't PvP but PvE. What difference does it make if I purchase the gold set from the crown store? I mean wouldn't you appreciate someone like me who actually be willing to fork in RL money to better themselves during a dungeon/trial run by wielding good armor set? Why would anyone argue with something like that? Also I've been farming for about a couple of weeks now, and so far no Divines set other than 1 to which I had purchase from one of my group players.

The ability to buy BiS gear in the store can have two results, depending on the price of the gear:

Cheap: Most people buy it instead of farming it. People don't do the content anymore because they can just drop 10 bucks and get everything. Without something to strive for to better their characters, they leave the game. This severely reduces the life of a MMO.

Expensive: Only a few players can afford it. They have a very real edge against people who can't afford it. They get to the top of the leaderboards on PvE and dominate on PvP people who are taking the long road. The reputation of the game plummets, and the company is called out for this unethical practice all over the media. After a while, only people who buy sets from the Crown Store remain in the game. They end up without anything to strive for since they can have anything in the game in a second by buying it, and end up leaving the game. This also severely reduces the life of a MMO.

The difference between buying mount training and buying gear is that mount training doesn't get you anywhere nearer the top of the leaderboards, while BiS gear does.

So... That's what is wrong with buying BiS gear in the Crown Store. I hope you understood the problem. We don't want the game to become pay-to-win because we love the game, and we don't want it to take such a bad turn.

I get it, okay? I work as a lawyer and I'm studying to be a judge. In my country, that's hard work, really hard work. The test has five steps and is so hard that there are never enough approved candidates for the number of tribunals needing judges. I have very little time to play and I've been trying to farm some of the bound gear for the last six months. Not couple of weeks, six months. It would be so much easier to just whip out my credit card and outfit all my ten characters in a blink! But I've been playing MMOs for over ten years and I've seen what happen when MMOs take that turn. It isn't pretty, I tell you. And if there is one MMO that I want to stay away from that more than any other, it is this one. Because I love Elder Scrolls so much, and this franchise is so important to me, and there isn't another Elder Scrolls MMO so this one can't fail. It would break my heart if it became another pay-to-win piece of garbage, like so many others before it. My love for this game and my desire for it to succeed and to last for many years is much stronger than my selfish desire to outfit all my characters.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

I think there should be an option for players to buy the Trial or Monster Sets via the Crown Store. First of all I have read comments where this would be pay to win or characters taking the easy way out to get the top of the line gear because they do not want the challenge. That's bull. There is no challenge once you have completed any undaunted delve or trial on normal and vet mode. Those players that continually go back farming them know whats going to happen around every corner and know exactly how to defeat each boss so where is the challenge. I was one of those farmers so I know. Finally I just got sick and tired of doing them over and over again (Rinse and Repeat) in hopes of getting the gear I wanted or the traits I wanted. I would welcome a chance at another option to obtain Trial or Monster Sets and for those of you who would not like that well continue farming for them.

    Abeille,
I forgot to mention that you can purchase the vampire/werewolf buff in the crown store. Yes this does impact you and give you an extra bonus during combative situations. For Werewolf you get an extra perk if you have the werewolf ultimate slotted. I believe you get 15% stamina recovery while as vampire under the supernatural recovery passives you get an increased Magicka and Stamina recovery by 10% on rank 2.

I'm sorry if it breaks your heart, but this is a pay-to-win game the very moment ZoS offered the vampire/werewolf buff to their players in this game (Why is it so difficult to get this naturally out into the wild???) including adding in a barber shops that you must pay real life money to change your appearances (Even know is minor) and change your name, including race. ZoS has decided to go down that dark path for which they realize that they can profit a lot off of the micro-transactions that they've decided to add into their ESO game.

If I have to wait 6 months of endless farming just to get a divine piece for the Infallible aether set, or get a monster piece (After so many training and Prosperous traits) from the gold/silver key that I want will give me enough time to find another game to play. There comes to the point where people get fed up with farming all day long, and not getting rewarded at the end. Like you I am a diehard fan of the elder Scrolls game. I love Skyrim and Oblivion. I love the lore and everything else, but I ain't going to waste my time farming the same exact trial/dungeon, and not getting the satisfaction. The fact that I can't even sell unwanted trial/monster set gear like VO that I wand up getting in the guild store to those who want it is ridiculous. After an hour it becomes bounded to your account... even if you do not wield it.

No, no and once again no. This is P2W, what´s the point of doing content at all in that case if you just can buy some crown and boom: you have the complete set....

This might be the worst idea I´ve heard in a long time. Rather remove Radiant destruction from the game than buying gear from crownstore.

The Vampire/Werewolf bite is easily obtained without any RNG by standing by a shrine and waiting for a player to bite you. You are comparing skipping the hardest content in the game with skipping standing around for a bit, maybe giving 5k gold to someone as a tip, and completing a simple solo quest. These are simply not comparable. Nothing in the Crown Store right now can be compared to skipping the hardest content in the game for the BiS gear.

Barber shop is cosmetic only. Race change has a free alternative, which is rerolling. It is not comparable to skipping the hardest content in the game for BiS gear. Not to mention that the game changed a lot regarding the importance of racial passives, so race change was a necessary service in the end (the removal of soft caps early on for example).

ZOS didn't go down the straight-forward P2W path yet. And I find it hard to believe you are such a die-hard fan if you will put your convenience before the health of the game.

Now, if you would like to, we could discuss making all the gear Bound on Equip instead of Bound on Pick-up. This is something that I wouldn't be against. People would still have to farm the gear, and other people would still have to farm the gold. It wouldn't be a credit card away from them.

Not all of us are that fortunate enough to be blessed with such privilege. As of right now I cannot join any trial/dungeon guilds due to the fact that you can only be in 5 guilds. Lol at good DPS being "privilege"

OP, join a PvE guild, do Vet, profit. If you aren't good enough to do Vet, you don't need a full set of infallible. Alternatively, get a decent group and run regular till your ears and eyes bleed.

I want 5 VO, 5 Hundings and 1 kena/bloodspawn on my stamplar, and I absolutely COULD farm NSO, and would not mind it. But I have RL commitments and can take it slow for all of time. When gear starts going into the crown store, this game will have a clock ticking down, and I don't want that.
