✭I've heard pretty much everything, but the idea that someone using LoS to avoid attacks is somehow a bad player is just ridiculous. If you were ever able to ignore terrain and buildings in this game, that is the bigger wrong imo.
@Epona222 caltrops ignores walls and vertical structures(i.e. if it is cast above you you get hit below still and vice versa), majority of heals still ignore it as well and so do certain aoe. #FixThisMadnessZoSEdited by OGLezard on August 15, 2016 9:34AM0 -

I'm pretty sure that war would be fought a lot differently with unlimited instant re-spawns.
It's not like there aren't already enough survivability tools to deal with a 1v1......

If you want 1v1s/1v2s/1v3s that doesnt include terrain, find a duelling guild and go duels!
Or stick to the open fields. I mean, there's places in Cyro with barely a rock to hide behind! Ignorance is the greatest weapon of tyranny.

What do you know about your opponents? Was that their normal play-style? Were they trying to save their Tel Vars? Were they just trying out LoS for the first time?
At one time I was trying the Akatosh set, which gives 100% dodge chance for 5 seconds after blocking. Within hours I ran into a good player who I fought to a stalemate. He then analyzed his combat log and threatened to report me to ZOS for exploiting. When I explained I was using Akatosh, he threw a hissy fit. What was the point of my build, he contended, since I didn't do enough damage and all I could manage was a standoff. Well, the point, in my case, was simply to try out something new.5 -

PvP happens where PvP happens.
People hiding from me behind a tree is cowardice at its finest.
It also creates situations where people add in to a 1v1 for no reason other than stalling.

You might have a point there, except that ring around the rosie is something we have all tried out in elementary school.....

Seriously no fun to fight LoS addicts. Work on your build. Work on your playstyle. You should only ever have to use LoS short term to reset a fight or let some resources regen or get a pot up.
Players who base their entire play style on this need to diaf.....

Sadly, that's a fairly common tactic with people in PvP from what I've seen. Even more sad is I only run with a group when I PvP... So a single guy running around a tree accomplishing nothing as several players chase them around it as well. Reminds me of that one AD player on Trueflame that's pretty much spec'd to do nothing but run away. Swear he could dodge roll half way across Cyrodiil and not run out of stamina.1 -

It's open-world, there's no rules. You think the guy using LoS is a coward, I'll go ahead and say he's using the terrain to his advantage And open-world is not a flat battleground, so using the tools you have at hand(trees!), even in pressured situations, shows that one's able to think defensively while fighting Ignorance is the greatest weapon of tyranny.

✭✭✭✭Everyone, and I mean everyone who PvPs has some bloody issue with other PvPers. They use terrain, they don't use terrain, they roll dodge, they use skills that take out a lot of my health, they interrupt, they use skills that I interrupt.
I can't help feeling that what this game needs is not so much an arena, but like a level playing field arena where everyone who goes into it has the exact same skills and abilities. Because goodness knows, anyone actually playing the game is going to be accused of at the very least "skill spamming" at some point. It has to be said that using LoS is a new complaint to me, but here it is.

My purpose in PVP is not to fight. It's to kill every opposing faction member that I can kill, and to run away screaming when I am out-skilled or outnumbered (which happens quite frequently). I'll try a 3v1 (where I am the one) but any higher than that I am pretty sure I'll croak within 5-10 seconds.
If running away from someone more skilled than me makes me a coward, fine. I have no problem with that. I just find it peculiar that people expect others to adopt their basevalues and pretty much kneel down in front of them and accept their own annihilation. I say good job mr. tree for trying to even the odds. I enjoy tag teaming with mr. rock or mr. hillside when I see a zerg come flooding in. Only time the scenery is a problem is when people crawl inside rocks (outside the actual map) or run inside cages where battle mechanics don't work properly. That's cheesing and i don't do that.
And no, I don't run around trees like that, so I am not the one you met.0 -

✭If they are using two handers most likely exploiting the known issue that two hander has with ignoring los and can hit you through the rock and your not able to hit them, not all players hug the rocks for what you think is a legit los ring around the rock fight. Those same players that love those rocks have a real l2p issue when you catch them in an open field, they cannot function and die pretty fast, rocks are just another crutch for some players that never really round out there skill.1 -

I've only had to deploy one once, and, well... It's too late to run when there's a cold fire DoT on you.The generally amicable yet sporadically salty magplar that may or may not have 1vXed you in Sotha Sil. Who knows?1
