I'm in the same boat. My biggest dilemma is which race to change to, Altmer, Breton, or stay true to the Pact with a Dunmer? ZOS keeps trolling us with these racial "fixes." I am tired of playing their little games. Argonian racial passives suck, straight up. At least now we can do something about it without losing all our progress. Don't feel guilty. You want something else that your character cannot provide.

My main is a Breton sorc, and I already have two other Bretons, so I was contemplating to change one of them to Altmer. Sorc seemed a good fit for Altmer. I even tried it out on the PTS server. However, as soon as I had changed my main into an Altmer, I missed my old character, and hated the new one. Thankfully I had saved the creation sliders of my old character, and could recreate her on the PTS.
A more practicial reason is that the race change is indeed still bugged. And if your main is a crafter, and you do a name change, than all the previously crafted items will still have the name of your old character. I dunno, it seems like a bug minefield waiting to explode.

I was NOT wanting to do that because of Min / Max reasons. I just like Khajiits better for looks and lore. However, Argonians are a close 2nd. I will not let numbers tell me how to play.
(I am not deleting her now, anyways.)
A little about the character in question:
I do really love her and we had spent many good days (79 days according by the /played command). However, she is my 2nd favorite race -- Argonian. She is my crafter, she knows every crafting style (working on the new ones now with update 11), she knows all the traits, she did all the normal dungeons. She did EP and DC faction zones, all the DLCs expect Wrothgar but most of it. I spent some time leveling her PVP rank. She has a ton of skill points.
On some days, I ask myself if I should "delete" her and make my favorite race or not?
When I say "delete" I mean that I will use the barber shop tools to change her class, race, and name but I am able to keep all her skill points, what she knows about crafting, achievements, and titles. BUT it is STILL a delete in the sense that I will lose her name, her looks and her race. In way, I am still deleting her to a degree. I can never remake her looks again and I will lose her character's name. Sometimes, I want to play as a Khajiit. I do have Khajiit alts, but I am founding hard of not spreading myself out too thin. I would like to have one char that truly max out (in all the ways that I can) instead of having 12 alts who are weak. I like to have 1 strong char and 11 weaker alts.
If the reader is in my shoes, what would you do? How does one balance playing an alt vs focusing on a main char?
OK, well now I'm attached to her. Don't change her! #ArgonianLivesMatter

Can you not just make a new khajiit character if you want to play as a khajiit?
