Please stop asking for dynamic population caps. Yes I have been on the low pop side and it sucks. But I definitely don't want to be locked out just because there isn't enough people on the other side. if this existed it would just mean longer queues that everyone will have to experience at some point. And, at some point people just want to be on that dominant campaign so they can farm stones in peace. Do you really want to be told you can't go farm stones just because there isn't enough people on the other side to gank you?

    PvE activities should have no bearing on PvP policy.

    But I also don't like dynamic pop caps. We need other incentives to motivate people to spread out between the factions.

    Just go farms stones in a more diversely populated campaign. You don't need a buff server to get stones. But population caps would make ques to long. I think it would be better if the points gained in campaigns were way reduced when you outnumber your opponent's, and even lower ap gains that would make people spread out real quick Lol

    I wouldn't mind applying an AP bonus to low population, kind of like the scoring bonus for leaderboard. It would provide some incentive for at least the more skilled players to separate and go to less populated servers. Most of the hate on these forums seems to be generated against the good, coordinated groups riding in the center of zergs and then posturing about how good they are. These are the small to medium sized elite man groups who say "we only had 6 bro, git gud l2p lawl" and ignore the other 30+of their alliance around them.

    Before anything is done though, IC population needs to be separated from the Cyrodiil population count.

    • Fix Volendrung (spawn location - weapon white on the map causing the wielder to keep it forever - usable with emperorship)
    • Remove / Change CPs System, remove current CP/noCP campaigns and introduce one 30days with lock, one with no locks
    • Fix crashes when approaching a keep under attack because of bad / wrong rendering prioritization system
    • Change emperorship to value faction score points and not alliance points - see this and this

    Human behavior tends to favor the path of least resistance and in cyrodiil this means to win people will stack on one side. It's already been shown players can not police themselves. So yes dynamic population caps please or at least some arena where the numbers are fixed per side.

    Oh hello Brian! That is right, I do remember that. When does this bonus affect apply? Does it go active if one alliance is 1 or 2 bars above your alliance? Say EP has 3 bar, AD has 1 bar, DC has 1 bar. AD and DC have low pop bonus? Maybe make a big indicator on the scoring sheet to know when the low pop bonus is in effect? I may be senile and it's already there.

    Since I have you here, any plans to decouple IC population count from Cyrodiil population count? A lot of times the population count on campaign list isn't indicative of battle conditions in Cyrodiil due to many people in IC. I think a simple fix could be to count a person when they queue to the campaign and once they enter the sewers, they leave the population count and if they exit the sewers, then it puts them back to a queue if it's poplocked. Delves used to work this way and it was super annoying, so it's not an easy simple answer unfortunately.

    Middle ground.
    Have one 30-day, 1-point per objective campaign that has dynamic population caps, another 30-day that doesn't.
    That way everybody's happy.

    Being outnumbered 10 to 1 by the opposition who has all the emp, scroll and home keep buffs makes it harder to come back.
    Feels good when you do but @ZOS_BrianWheeler I think the underdog buff needs some love!

    Or maybe ZoS makes IC it's own pocket server only allowing say 75 players of each faction inside the city at once so that players who are in pvp are actually pvping and not farming in the sewers cause it's kinda stupid to see that your faction is on high pop but their only being a 1 or 2 raids in Cyrodiil that equal to a medium pop.

    Or they could make campaign-relevant IC PvP objectives that actually foster PvP and keep PvPers moving around, including moving through popular PvE grind spots to flush out the grinders.

    This post is precisely why we need dynamic locking. People wanting to "farm" without risk to themselves in a pvp environment is against the concept of pvp area content like this. The point of allowing a grind is that there should be some challenge to doing it in pve this means less profitable grinds and higher population of players because they don't want to risk death. In pvp it should be profitable but risky. We already see players using the "heavy attack" exploit method of farming in IC without any risk to themselves. Anything that can be done to encourage people to fight there should be done. Knowing that you won't be zerged 30 vs 1 is a good start.

    Dynamic pop locks would go a long way to fixing issues in Cyrodiil. As it is, far too many campaigns are determined by who overpopulates during hours in which their opponents are weak, and no amount of running up the score in prime time can compensate for potentially 6-8 hours of uncontested map control. It imbalances the game and discourages players from participating in the current system, encouraging more 'the scoreboard doesn't matter' AP farming instead of playing for real objectives.
