Not to poop on chief's parade, but as a general sentiment, why do people praise all the 1vX videos against low levels and people brand new to pvp? Seriously. I don't get it. Do you actually find it impressive, or are you just patting these people on the back because you like them? Chief is an excellent pvper, but why are these videos a thing? Show me a video of you 1vXing a small invictus group or something, but against mostly people that are no where near v16? Please, someone explain it to me.

You're right. Most of the time, successful 1vX videos are against players with less skills. And this is what it should be. Otherwise that would mean that the game is not balanced properly. I still find it alot more enjoyable to watch Chief, Lowpolicy or Aelnir killing a ton more with a few of them rather than watching a 24men ballgroup killing 30-40pugs. Requires alot more discipline and skills.

I'd much rather watch him 1v1 a great player even if it ends in a stalemate. Those are far more enjoyable fights imo. I never understood why people like watching other people play the game on a stream, and I guess I'll never understand these kinds of videos. I realize I'm in the minority on that.

I agree 100%. Ultimately, I blame the game design that has created a culture of enthusiast vs casual in ESO. I don't think people watch 1vX because it's enjoyable per se--in the same way professional sports are enjoyable--but rather to emulate.

The entire "chase me" metagame is practically a subculture.

Doesn't matter if it's against casuals. The fact that the player or small group is largely out numbered demonstrates alot more their level and experience of the game mechanics rather than one player part of a 24men group in a large fight against 40 zerglings let say. The small group cannot rely on that many buffs, synergies and are alot more vulnerable to focus targeting by massive amount of gap closers and ccs.

    Well done Chief

Uuuuh it's called hardcore versus casual players, and it happens in every competitive game ever.

And yes, watching 1vX videos can be enjoyed in exactly the same way as pro sports. Heck, esports has become a big deal over the last few years. Some people enjoy watching higher level gameplay than they play at, some enjoy watching the underdog overcome greater numbers, some look to learn, some enjoy watching their friends play. Why is any of this inherently bad?

I just want to point out that imo you are wrong about a vet, running around one shotting a group of Lowbies that's never played the game to any real extent being more DISCAPLINED and skilled than a Ball group wiping a Group of 40 people at say a castle. It may indeed be funner, but I don't see more skill in it. the ball group has to be organized they have to call when to go in when to go out who to stack on who to focus at what time what Skills need to be Spammed at the time and when you can dodge and run away from Good players when you're 1vX, when you Ball up to fight a massive fight odds are once you've found the enemy you don't have time to run unless you're leaving your ball group behind you. in which case you would be singled out and hammered. ALSO I'd like to note that when you are in a ball group looking at a group of 40 individuals there's going to be a Decent amount of Experienced fighters in that group which Ups the Aunty in making sure your group in on Par with whats going on.

to me it seems like legit a Ball group facing a Wall of 40+ people would be a Lot harder to manage than a experienced pvper going ham on Pver's Etc.

That being said I do find it funner to watch

I don't even know how to reply to that. I'll just say that I've been part of very successful ballgroups in the past and I had my fair amount of 24vs24 group play. A player in such a group is not even 1/10 as skilled as someone 1vXing. Especially when you have the chance to run with such amazing healers as Walks, Poo or Akinos. They will keep you up no matter what. I don't have the energy to counter argument every single of your point. Just try to 1vX and see how that works out for you.

      I wasn't banned, I forgot my password :)

Sounds like a L2p issue, honestly.

Chief was banned and created new account @Chie'f.

      Why does ZOS allow this?

If you only changed your forum account name to Chief_ all your previous post would update to that from Jordaen.... Nice try and good luck not getting banned with your new account.

Idk if he did or did not cheat but who gives a *** if he did it's in the past so many others are cheating right now yet it looks like Jordaen gets so much hate even after all this time compared to others and I really don't get why lol

Idk if you still play or not but if you do keep doing what your doing, enjoyed your vids in the past hope you upload more if you do still play

Nice 2h/bow stam DK gameplay! It's quite an old video now but still fun to watch.

If you don't mind me asking, how have you been experiencing the balance changes since the dark brotherhood update? The uppercut changes and the current meta where many people are running tankier builds, in particular?

I'm curious because I've been running a similar 2h/bow weapon setup since the thieves guild update. Never been very fond of bash cancelling people to death with sword and shield :p
