How about a merchant town?

I like the idea of gathering the traders. But as people say, it would create massive lag. Another idea could be to have like 10-15 traders per city in all 5 of the main cities of the leveling zones. Have them in instanced areas, similar to public dungeons, where you're unable to cast spells. And then make a search tool that has every traders listed, and what city you can find them.

Or what about adding more 'five trader' towns... right now it seems each zone only has one five trader location. I realize some towns require a quest be completed in order to 'liberate' the town... like how Velyn Harbor in Malabal Tor has to be liberated before you can access its features.

+1, make it in a cross-faction area, but make PvP Justice System apply to that area (opt in, get crime for fighting). And allow pick pocketing of players.

This is basically a spin on the Auction House people keep asking for but will just make things worse. Convenience ALWAYS has a price...

However, I would not be opposed to a city with more Guild Traders than anywhere else, say 10 for instance? Let's see what happens with One Tamriel first though...

Agree with @UltimaJoe777 here. This looks like another Auction House thread masquerading as a new idea ... even if unintentional by the OP.

How about yes, and then you can make the personal decision to not buy the DLC or go there ever.

Or, we could just leave the system as it is and just update the UI to a more user friendly version.

    this^^

why, given that there are four methods for players to sell stuff should zos divert resources to make a fifth....

asked that question a number of times....yet to see a coherent, cogent answer to it.

I could get behind the trader town idea. Flea market or Bazaar, maybe something more "lore" friendly for the rp ers.

I would like to see one of two things:

A central neutral city. Maybe when One Tamriel hits. But just a neutral city with traders. Allow a massive place where factions and everyone can trade. Not a full blown auction house, but maybe a place where players can bid on mystery boxes. Nothing game breaking or anything. But a box of soul gems, or tri potions, or a motif piece. This is an MMO, allow players to interact more than a group finder or yelling in local area

A central town in PvP. I mean we are fighting the same mortal enemy of our world so have a place for the factions to come for a break. Even make it a spot in the Imperial City or something. Sell some cool PvP trinkets or gear.

    Just random thoughts.

This seems like a really good idea to me. If we can't have a centralized auction house, then do this please. It would help to alleviate some of the issues that I have with not having a centralized AH. My biggest gripe is having to travel around the entire world map looking at 50 traders to try to find something that I'm looking to buy. EQ 1 had a bazaar zone I believe, and how old is that game? Of course, I think EQ 1 also may have had a centralized search function too, but I'm not positive on that last one. :/

The guild traders system is fine the way it is now and as someone else said this seems like a back door global AH. IMO ESO's trader system is the best trade system found in any MMO.

IMO the only thing they should do is incorporate something like 'awesome guild store' into the base game.

Nothing really wrong with the current system....if you're a seller.

If your a potential buyer looking for something specific, well....the search "function" is a major barrier.

Personally, I don't mind porting from place to place to check traders out. I do mind spending minutes at each one re-setting my search parameters and scrolling through the results looking for that elusive motif.

Even something as simple as alpha-sorting and allowing me to skip to a specific page would address most (if not all) of my immediate issues.

Another way would be to link all the guild traders, so they are accessible the same way we can access the crown store, for example. One stop shop without traveling anywhere.
