How about a merchant town?

I am wondering if it would be feasible to have a merchant town. Take all of the guild traders and put them in one trading town. Of course each faction would have to have their own town. I think it would make a nice addition to the game. As far as myself I seem to do a lot of teleporting to all of these towns just to find one item sometimes. At times this my take a bit of time to do this. It seems that time might be better spent playing the game vs shopping. Plus it would put all guilds on a level playing field as long as they can get a trader. Opinions?

Or allow trading guilds to hire Mages....who will cast projections to a set location. Faction be damned....let them all mingle.

It's about time the the Mages Guild did something other than send me projections demanding I go here then there....oh, and get this book so that we can undo the mistake I made a number of years ago.

This is basically a spin on the Auction House people keep asking for but will just make things worse. Convenience ALWAYS has a price...

However, I would not be opposed to a city with more Guild Traders than anywhere else, say 10 for instance? Let's see what happens with One Tamriel first though...

I like this idea a lot too. Put a bunch of guild traders in one area, like an open air market. I guess it would be like Rawl'kah, except mostly guild traders. Could be cool.

Your talking about a Guild Hall trade marketing place they should have one, that sounds pretty good I like that idea. And also look up lore to see if it's possible that any of the Elder Scroll games have big trade market so there's no way ESO (ZOS) can ignore this.

This is the best idea so far apart from a direct auction house. If u wan to buy stufd, u can just go to this central market area and find what u want. Since its not an auction house, u need to still move about and find the best price. Best part of is that you dont need to find out where the shops are located. Atm if ur guild shop isnt located at a central busy area, u will not make m

Honest it make sense of think of just look at Visby which become one of biggest Hansa city/trader city in Europe under Middle Ages where the tarders guild run the city and why not do something in ESO and to make more fun the trader guild that have most sell will run city for 1 month in real time that would be nice thing to add to whole thing that way you will get little competition between trader guild and the guild that run city well have NPC run around in all other city make advertising about for whole month and the will also help player to get to that city.

A merchant town would be too populated and main cities would not feel as populated as usual.

My idea is to be able to open a tab in your UI where you can search and look at all items available on your platform. What Guild Trader has the item and in what city this Guild Trader can be found. You wouldn't be able to buy or sell items. It is simply a guide to quickly find the item you're looking for then travel to buy it.

Well ZoS can always take easy way out just all trader guild to most populated city in each factions then problem is fix just look at AD that would easy be Elder Root or Vulkhel Guard or Rawl'kha for those 3 place on AD side on EU PC side is always full with people.

Dont know about other 2 factions but it should be so hard for ZoS to see which city have the most traffic on servers or can just add to 3 most populated city for 3 factions other way that is easy way out and it is alot better then we have today where we need spend most of our gametime found best price and run around the whole game damn world to look for it.

This one mentioned a similar idea many many moons ago. Like the old caravan meeting posts they used to have across the deserts. A place where traders from many lands gather and all manner of goods from the four corners of Tamriel may be found.

Of course also where many wealthy merchants gather also you may find many inns and also those who seek to profit from the merchants in other ways ...

I honestly don't mind having the guild traders, as they are now, in the main city of each zone, but come on, why are some dotted randomly around the zones in the middle of nowhere? Makes no sense to me.

I also have mentioned this idea to make it easier to shop, kind of a trader mall so to speak but the town idea is more lore friendly and you simply would use any wayshrine to get there.

Has nothing to do with being an auction house just a central location for those with one track minds.

Good idea; it would solve a lot of problems seem to have with guild merchants. Not quite a global 'auction house', but at least you don't need to travel all over. It allows for small guilds to compete with big guilds as they essentially would be in the same area. It would allow guildmasters not to worry about trying to get 'that spot'.

It would also create a sort of main area where people would congregate, so it may even have knockon affects such as a place to be social or allow for easier grouping (as we all know the state of group finder...).

This probably wouldn't work for those that don't have the DLC. It would probably have to go in the leveling zones...to keep it fair to all.

If they would disable players spamming their stupid AOE there would not be a problem like in say Mournhold now.
No reason not to as there would be no quest there to have to use them.

Wouldn't this result in more empty areas in the game that people now visit just and only because of the guild traders?

I would support this idea... and move all those 'way out in the wilderness' single merchants to that location!! I think it's completely dumb to have a lone guild trader out in the middle of nowhere... I know I never use them, I always use the ones in major towns where I can check five traders... it would take too much time to bother wayshrining to all the 'middle of nowhere' merchants when I'm shopping... especially when I can usually find what I want in short order at a major town.

No it isn't ever been to a big city merchant area?
For some reason people act like loonies there.
And it would make trading far less time consuming and you risk less loading screens not having to wayshrine all over the map trying to find something.

A compromise is needed somewhere the current system needs improvement.

Well the only time I shop is when I need something specific and don't want to spend all day 'shopping around', and typically most players place their best items in Guild Traders that sell quickly... which are the traders in major towns.
