How do I play the game? I have the launcher open... no play button, no install button... nothing.

    Did you tried to open it directly, without the launcher? You can find it in your application folder.

    In my application folder there are only 2 items. One is "Launcher", and the other is a shortcut to Launcher.app "Play the Elder Scrolls Online". Both bring me to the launcher above. Note that this is in "/Applications/Zenimax Online".

    I've been trying every day since I first downloaded it. I've also tried removing them and reinstalling multiple times. I also tried on a different computer.

    I have no idea what to do.

    Hi,

    I don't have an ESO folder or "eso.app" anywhere.

    I've been downloading the game from: https://account.elderscrollsonline.com/users/account
    By clicking "Download Game".

    I change my resolution and install via "Install_ESO" (which is what was downloaded from that link above)
    That installs "Launcher.app" and a shortcut to launcher in a "Zenimax Online" folder.

    Actual paths (Not modified):
    "/Applications/Zenimax Online/Launcher.app"
    "/Applications/Zenimax Online/Play the Elder Scrolls Online" - which is an alias "shortcut" of Launcher.app

    Nothing else is installed.

    The launcher is also opened after that install. There is no "play" or "install" button.

    When I open Launcher.app directly or via the alias, it still has no way to install or play.

    How do I get "eso.app"?

    assuming that you haven't altered the standard installation path on initial installation of the game client, you should be able to find eso.app in

    /Applications/ZeniMax Online/The Elder Scrolls Online/game_mac/pubplayerclient

    (or The Elder Scrolls Online EU for the EU client, respectively).

    Hi, here are the contents of my "Zenimax Online" folder. I have not altered or modified anything.

    It's worth noting, I'm not sure what you mean by "initial installation". The "Install_ESO.app" just installed Launcher, and opened the Launcher. But the launcher didn't actually do anything. It just showed as above, no install button for the game.

    Even after repeatedly trying on both this computer and another iMac, it still shows no buttons and doesn't "install" anything other than a useless launcher with no buttons.

    Ok, I figured out a workaround.

    Click Settings > Enable Show Public Test Environment > Change Megaserver to Europe > Change Megaserver back to North America.

    An install button should now be visible.

    I guessed that if the actual game files were missing, the Launcher couldn't have installed anything yet. Glad that it works for you now. :)

    Well, I give up. I completely downloaded the game 3 times, it failed all 3 times with the error below. I tried repairing 3 times (including restarting for the 2nd and 3rd time - each time), each time it failed with that error.

    Thanks for all the help, but I've literally spent 10 days trying to install this game. I'm done.

    Oh, and my firewall is off and I use Google DNS servers (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4). Tried with 4.2.2.2 also.

    And I have no packet loss or any other issues. I use a wired gigabit connection - cat6 cable with gigabit ports on all devices.s51d8dq126hx.png


    Good luck fixing the installer for others, but I've had enough of failing to install the same game every day. Hope the info I provided helps.

    @seangcxqb14_ESO, could you please post the contents of the Launcher's host.developer.log file? To find it, go to

    /Applications/ZeniMax Online

    right-click on Launcher.app, then select Show Package Contents from the context menu. Navigate to Contents/MacOS. There should be several numbered host.developer.log files, the one without the number is the most recent. Perhaps there is a hint in there as to why the Launcher can't find the CDN client master repository.

    @seangcxqb14_ESO i got the same prob as u man i think i got it tho what i did was update my Mac os to latest one then Turn on my firewall then opened Launcher started the install then i deleted the Progamdata folder when it said "creating download" it going slow im guessing its cause its a huge game so might Be like a 12 hour downlaod type of thing

    Luckily I have quick internet, so it only takes me about an hour. I've deleted the install and started fresh over 5 times now. Also tried repair at least once each time (up to 3 times per fresh install) Good thing I have unlimited bandwidth or this would be a really expensive monthly bill.

    I have the latest version of OS X, so I can confirm that isn't the problem. I initially tried the install with my firewall enabled and allowing the app to accept incoming connections, but since the support requested firewall be disabled in another thread, I proceeded from that point with firewall disabled. Firewall is also not the issue. Also tried on another iMac, still didn't work. Same error.

    I've contacted support, so if/when they figure out the issue, I will post the fix/workaround in this thread.

    So after communicating with support over the last few days, I can confirm that they will not assist.

    They had me confirm I still was having the issue without offering support 4 times, which I quickly responded each time that I was. They did not offer any assistance at any point.

    They have now marked the ticket as closed, despite not attempting in any way to resolve the issue. I'll be requesting a refund for the game since it cannot be installed and they are not willing to fix the problem.

    @seangcxqb14_ESO i got it to work do what i said Above then delete all files from zenimax (MAKE SURE ALL IS GONE) then re install it

    I did that four times. It didn't work. I've used 200 GB of data this month trying to install this game.

    You are either a liar or using Windows instead of Mac. The game does not install on Mac currently.

    I have resolved the problem. Support was useless.

    Install the game using the launcher you have. After you get error 210, force-quit the Launcher. Do not attempt a repair.

    Delete the old launcher (or rename with .bak) and place the modified Launcher below in the "Zenimax Online" folder.
