I'd really like to see them put some time in on fixing PvP. The lag and constant crashes on Xbox is getting really annoying. While I like DLC, this one is less appealing to me. And I would take less DLC's releases per year for fewer but much larger DLC's and more updates in fixing the issues. But despite all the problems this is a really fun and awesome game!

Feels like Zenimax paid OP to write that.

But hey, if you praise mediocre content and try to shun and mock others for thinking otherwise, go ahead if it makes you feel better.

Notice the OP says nothing about the massively overpriced name change and appearance changes, yet he mentions how "affordable" the personalities are.

Pretty much his entire post was "They added things to the game, and adding things is good". Good job OP.

Look, we get it. There's not a lot of oomph, and the wow factor is somewhat mixed, but overall... yes, this is an important update. ZOS didn't need to release it, and realistically everything in Shadows of the Hist (and even the base game patch) could have been backburnered until One Tamriel which comes out in a few months.

But Update 11 /is/ an important update, and it's important for a few reasons.
    • Updates - Everyone complains that ZOS never does bug pure bug fixing. "Stop making new content," some cry with seething rage into an oscillating room fan. "Focus on bug fixes! Stop content and just fix things." Guess what? They did. In fact, the majority of this patch WAS bug fixes. Improvements. Fixes. Tweaks. Yes, two new dungeons were added to the mix, but the vast majority of everything of this patch was bug fixing. Some big, simple little.

You've been asking for it for ages, and you got it. Chicken McNuggets for everyone!
    • Quality of Life - "The RNG system sucks. BURN THE HERETIC!" Yep, the RNG sucks. You said. I've said. The guy at the drive thru window of my local Taco Bell said it. And with Update 11, the single biggest quality of life update is... *drumroll* ....the ability to defeat the RNG. You can now trade BOP items. Yes, this seems like a minor update in the scheme of things, but this is huge. This is the kind of thing that truly incentivizes and rewards group play. Y'know, that... that thing you've been asking for. That we've all been asking for. It's here. Right now.

Loot sharing will greatly encourage more group play. More trials. More dungeons. More people getting together and doing the content that may not have done, and not having to worry quite as much at being at the mercy of the RNG. Didn't get the part you wanted? Trade for it. You're no longer limited to the loot table of yourself, but he loot table of 3 to 11 other people.

      Freakin'. Huge.

Not only that, but ZOS listened to our threads, heard our complaints, and made Maelstrom always drop a weapon. And made DSA always drop a weapon. Yeah, it's taken a while, but they listened. That's important. Write that down in your copy book now.
    • Personalities - I don't know of many other MMOs that can allow you to change your character's behavior, walk, idle in such an easy way. Darth Lambert and Emperor Firor could have declared each personality cost 1K crowns. They didn't. They bundled them, put them together in a seriously cheap and affordable pack, tied a little ribbon on it and basically gave it out for dirt cheap. Yeah, yeah, they still cost crowns, but they made them affordable to get them out there. Small impact, but it further helps customize characters. This is a good thing.
    • Costume Dyeing - Again, this a minor update but one that has a large impact to the feel of the game. It offers more customization and the ability to be a little bit more unique. You can customize how you look, feel, act and behave (especially accompanied by the new personalities) you can really go the extra mile to make your character feel unique and different from the rest of the pack. Again: huge.
    • Updated Content - They took the time to go back, fix, tweak and improve the updated content. No, it's not new, but creating new content takes ages. ZOS opened up a new floodgate of existing for people to engage in, and actually have it be rewarding and end up as something other than "Hey, got 10 minutes to kill to knock out AA for leaderboards?" Scaling also sets the stage for One Tamriel, and brings everything we've had prior up to part. Fixed. And yes, it gives us insight that they want Trials to be the hard, yet also accessible. Approachable for new players, and about as fun as a trip to the dentist for those looking for a challenge. Which is good, because that drives people to WANT to get better and improve.
With that, no, not everything is perfect, and this is a small DLC, but this is a small DLC that really focused and catered on the little things. A lot of little things that people have been asking for.

That's a great thing, and if you don't think it's a great thing, trust me... alcohol helps.

Dude...I frigging love your posts...so entertaining!

I love dungeon crawls, so for me personally, the addition of two new dungeons is a major plus. Having the grouping tool still be completely borked and not being able to queue for the new content, is just mean :'( Here's two new dungeons for you to not get into to.... really?

There are some good improvements and additions to things, granted. The grouping tool, LFG, party builder, etc. is a fundamental staple of group play in nearly every MMO ever, but ours is still broken after months.ZOS- PLEASE now that the DLC has been released, please dedicate some resources to repairing this critical aspect of the game. An MMO in which it is so difficult to form a party for the content you guys worked so hard to develop... not so much fun.

Kinda of hard to play the game when you cant group.... I cant group with anyone it just says failed.... you would think this would be considered game breaking to bring down the servers and fix it but no. seriously zos this si the first time a bug has pissed me off this much.... the grouping already sucks.... but now i cant even use the suck-ish grouping

I can understand your concern, but I'm genuinely positive about this update. I know, I know... it's terrible, but I am.

Mocking? No. And I don't think think appearance changes are "massively" overpriced, though I DO think renames are a bit expensive. Other MMOs charge about $10 for a rename, so I think 1,000-1,500 crowns would have been fair. I'm okay with the price of race change as, honestly, I don't want people jumping races every month to play the "flavor build of the month " game. Names don't have an impact on game services. Race changes can.

My biggest gripe is that I feel ZOS should have offered the ability to purchase these in-game. The game lacks gold sinks, especially at the higher level. The gold sinks ESO does have (bag space, bank space, horse training) are sinks which impact new players more than anything. The higher end economy lacks a lot of gold sinks.

But I genuinely enjoy the update, and the QOL items it does bring to the game. I honestly do. Content wise, yeah, two dungeons are rather limiting, and the price of the DLC does seem a bit high for what you get. But overall, I think the update as a whole has definitely improved the game.

you make it look like ZOS did you a favor of fixing the game you pay for
its sad that people reached this stage :(

    you should be more like:
thanks ZOS for scaling trials and make it appealing to some players to return to ESO even if its 10 months late, hope you learned your lesson of scaling all content next time you raise vet ranks/CP ranks and keep the endgame content exist so you dont have to deal with another couple millions who return to find a disappointment again.

hint: when IC DLC was released, over a million players returned to play ESO, to quit the following couple months because the content did not get scaled

I agree that an in-game and moderately expensive, in time or gold, way to access the character editors would be a good gold sink, but they do exist for the advanced players. They're called Guild Kiosks, and they delete millions of gold weekly each.

yet none of this update fixed anything. Instead we got more bugs. I want core mechanic fixes, lag fixes, balance fixes, loot drop fixes. Custom dyeing, cosmetics, new dungeons, name changes, racial changes none of this adds any value or longevity to the game you are just putting it on life support. People get bored eventually and move on because they do not want to deal with poor game performance. A whole guild of 80 people on ps4 quit the game because lag was horrendous. You think they are gonna back to see the new custom dyeing? lol hell no.

It also will bring text chat to consoles. A little thing in the eyes of pc players but something we console users have been asking for for well over a year, easily our number 1 request, so that, for us console users, is definitely, undeniably, huge.

Big things come in small packages i guess.

lost a guild of 350+ , most have loyaly played every day since ps4 launch. I think about 4 returned a month ago. And those 4 all play never winter now.

There's not enough core content in the game for end gamers, and there's been a massive drought since the Trials were never scaled up. I've lost almost all my friends in game, too. Mostly because people just don't want to do endless Undaunted pledges as the only real "end game content". Once Sanctum was updated, my guilds sprung back to life with people working on them. And with AA and HRC, even more of that.

The biggest issue with ESO is (and always has been) the end game. There's just not enough to do.

It's undoubtedly going to be a turning point for a lot of players if they mess it up (again).

Presumably they don't dare to say what's going to be fixed due to them getting completely burned last time - i.e. the fix fixed nothing - either that or they have no intentions of actually fixing anything.

Time to step up to the plate ZOS.

Yeah, I forgot a few things. A lot of this sets the groundwork for (hopefully) better updates and changes in the future. Since we don't know what One Tamriel is going offer beyond the basics, I'm hoping they can really just fix a lot of the problems.

Plus we still haven't seen any real benefit yet from the DX11 upgrade, but they've hinted a lot of changes are in store. Hopefully sooner rather than later, too

Frankly, I couldn't care less about new zones. They bore me to death because single-player questing is just not my cup of tea: no challenge.

This is the first 4-man group content in nearly a year, and that makes it worth more than Orsinium, Thieves Guild, and Dark Brotherhood combined. And the upscaling of AA, HRC, and DSA is nice, too. Oh, so much to do, so little time!
