I would like it, if the item lottery at the end would be more reliable (Maelstrom weapons inc).

This is an MMO. Why do I have to solo for the best items? Really don't like this boring/frustrating arena.

Love it, especially when you get a higher score than your previous attempt, or if you rolled a new class and beat it for the first time after hours of trying.

I believe there are two types that hate vma.
    1. Those who can't do it and get frustrated, or haven't even made an attempt
    2. Those who can complete it with 2hr+ runs and did not enjoy the run due to alot of deaths (rng in the end may make it worse).

I've known people who complain about vma 24/7 previously and once they get on the weekly with 400k+ scores consistently they love it and look forward to get on the leaderboard each week.

Nothing to love. I pray they ditch the weekly or add in new Vdsa weekly. So we can actually enjoy a good 4 man content with rewards. Vma is boring and an hour wasted per toon all for a defending bow each week. Chests drop nothing but rings in the wrong traits...

Ironically when they added in trash traits to thr weapons they said they were adding them to the loot drops each round too but they haven't. Completely missed it. No such thing as training winterborn etc. Think zos got this the wrong way round.

Everyone who likes some difficulty will love it. Not even as hard as other games on hard...

Most people who suck at it and can't complete it will naturally hate it as they are most likely embarassed by not being able to complete it.

Also the rng could be better...

There was a time adults liked hard content, now they are like oh its hard nerf it i know its my fault for not being good enough but so what nerf it. Wish they would just act like adults so we could get more content like this.

Or they would accept they can't do it and be ok with that.

Well, it's ok, but it's more like something you have to do to get those weapons.
imho it's a bit too long and too varying in difficulty.
i really enjoyed it when i first did it (even 300cp, crappy template chars with v14 equip and the take-half-damage bug on pts, but especially during the first days on live). it's build for that: you can spend a long time, have many rezzes (unlike early AA/HR/DSA with the limitted number of souls) and the difficulty goes up.

it's designed well for that. on the other hand, it's designed terribly for a grindfest. you go through 30min+ of boredom for a few tricky situations, the length makes a no-death run pretty challenging (even lags / technical problem alone can be tricky) and also makes it feel pretty lonely. when no-death runs happen i feel lucky and not like i just mastered something hard.

finally, it's predictable (and even necessary to know inside out for good runs). i feel like a robot running this thing. pvp arenas would be different, of course.

in summary, msa is a GREAT piece of content but absolutely not suited as a grindfest. i even enjoy having some solo content to really measure/display my own skill. but fixed spawns (and dieal patterns of attack cause by that), the length, and the minutes of total boredom make it that msa isn't content i really like

It's boring, it's solitary, and I hate the cheesy ways I can die in there.

I can't imagine running that place regularly to farm. I just do one or two runs a week to get one or two characters on the weekly, and I usually put that off until Sunday afternoon because it's just not fun.

Fortunately, by this point I've gotten all the weapons--I'm just doing the weeklies so that I don't have to share between my characters.

I love the fact that it's solo, and it is based on it being there for solo players. But the loot at the end, and knowing that more times than not you'll be receiving trash really ruins it for me.

I really like vMA for various reasons but there should be a 100% weapon drop at the last boss. I'd rather take my RNG chance with traits instead of having to compete with over traits, rings and whatever else drops. To me vMA is an accomplishment if you can complete it and should be rewarded appropriately.

It's true. Majority of forum posters are qqers. :p

I love it, I enjoy getting higher scores, running new characters through, and the goal is to flawless on all. I've gotten two out of 5 so far.

I think it's great to also have something to compare solo gameplay. Although players can share play and have someone beat it for them you can still compete with friends and trusted players.

It's a great way to improve your own gameplay. I feel learning the arena makes you better outside of it to an extent. Most players I talk to agree. In addition, the end game players I speak to in my guilds don't mind it either.

I hope they never change it.
You know they could just add DSA to weekly and not ditch it harbinger.... why change something people enjoy instead of ask for both. That's the mentality that ruins nice things. That's like saying they should drop pvp cause you only PVE, etc.

I can't attempt it until ZOS fixes Orsinium. I tried playing in Old Orsinium the other night and encountered groups of invisible enemies that didn't pop in until I was near death and load screens mid fight where the mobs killed me before the game loaded back up. I won't punish myself in VMA with broken things like this.

Those times were when we were younger and didn't mind a hard challenge because life itself wasn't so hard. I used to like beating things on the toughest difficulty for the challenge and brag rights to friends. I completed the first 2 Halo's on legendary co-op with a friend who was mediocre at best so that was all but impossible to beat yet I still enjoyed the knuckle grind and accomplishment at the end. Now life is hard so I don't want my games to be too hard at the end of a long, hard day.

I dont know...im so good player in normal content, on pvp fine..but this malestorm arena...I have tryed it 20+- time..done it once...in more times I just quit from this at 5, 7 and last arenas...I dont know why I have that problem to do this...sets, skills etc are ak for builds on this content...but I can...this just giving me more rage instead of fun and I just pissed on it and waititn for vDSA scaled to max lvl..vMol is a joke for me...other good players doing it in 1 hout...when I doing it few hours + getting much rage....nty, this arena is some ok as I see at other players...but for me its to much rage

    Edit

meh, Im this 2nd type, as I wrote....few hours dping 1 arena..most deaths and no reward + most deats=no free item from weakly for top 100 when people taking few places with only 1 account what is also annyoing for those who have problem with this arena, stupid hiscore...1 account with up to 8 places in top 100

For some reason there´re 3 places in ESO where my ping goes skyhigh. 2 of them are understandable in my opinion.
    1. Crowded areas like Deshaan, Wayrest and so on
    2. PvP when big zergs collide
    3. Maelstrom arena (for some reason). Especially at stage 3 final round. Always at this round the ping goes up (otherwise the ping stays stable at 100-115, but at this stage it goes 999+). No idea why....

I like it, but I never drop anything I need ~.~
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.
