This is me as well. It's even worse since the crafting bag. And especially crafting materials! I'll stop and pick every piece of cotton and jute I see, just so I can refine them for the tempers. I have stacks of unrefined mats.

But believe it or not, even with the crafting bags, it's not a solution to our hoarding. I still have to go deconsruct all that white level armor I pick up from all those dead bodies or steal. What we need now is a portable crafting station we can just set up on the side of the road to take care of our refining/deconstruction needs. Ooops, better not give ZOS any ideas. Coming to a crown store near you! :)

When I played Skyrim on Xbox, my brothers would hate watching me because I sniffed around everything like a dog.

When I started playing ESO on PC, my maxed out bank was filled up with a ton of stuff until I subbed, when a good 160 bank slots were freed up.

I am an addict. I loot everything. I can't stop.

I might need the stuff later ....

I read every book, loot every chest, harvest every mat in reach, look in every corner. I will not be able to play in groups.

Yup. 1 reason I am afraid to do a dungeon with random people (never done them!), I will constantly get the urge to stop and loot and probably be left behind lol

No crafting bags here, so I loot all except containers that give provisioning mats. No need to keep single pieces of useless items in inventory, when I can have there more useful things.

In dungeons I just loot every chest and heavy bags I find, informing others about it. If someone doesn't want to wait for me and start fighting when I'm picking chest - his haste, his death, his problem, not mine :p .

    Guilty. LOVE my crafting bag.

What I would really REALLY like to know, though, is if those fancy little collectibles we get from stealing are going to be useful down the road such as for housing. They certainly do contain a lot of descriptor information for currently being nothing but vendor trash.

The alts I had been using for storage of crafting materials still exist but are now storage for the more interesting collectibles just in case. If we eventually find out they're not useful for anything, I'll have a hefty amount of cash incoming from the vendor. :)

I looked in every container and took everything but food ingredients and zero-value gear before the crafting bag. Now only the zero-value gear gets left behind.

I've always played games this way. I suffer from "--but I might need that later!" or "but I might find something good this time...!". And the occasions I do are terrible motivators. This was especially challenging during early beta as I was not discouraged from looking into every pot just because I could. Even if I would inevitably lose all the loot.

I'm pretty bad too but I have friends to bounce mails back. Then I can sort at my leisure later on the sofa ...

Yesterday, I was running a public dungeon and ended up joining up with another random player, as you sometimes do in these things.

He had the same thorough looting habits I did, so we worked through the dungeon together at a slow, comfortably looty pace.

Those are the best dungeon runs. :)
    Living vicariously through my characters.

    My Girls:
"If you were trapped in your house for, say, a year, how would you pass the time?"

Nephikah the Houseless, dunmer assassin: "I suppose I could use the break. I have a lot of business holdings now that need management."
Swum-Many-Waters, elderly argonian healer: "I think that I would enjoy writing a memoir."
Silh'ki, khajiit warrior-chef: "Would this one be able to go outside, to the nearby river? It's hard to fish without water!"
Peregrine Huntress, bosmer hunter: "Who is forcing me to stay inside, and where can I find them?"
Lorenyawe, altmer mechanist: "And why would I want to go outside in the first place? Too much to be done in the workshop."
Lorelai Magpie, breton master thief: "I'd go nuts. Lucky for me, I have a little experience sneaking out!"
Rasheda the Burning Heart, redguard knight: "I would continue my training to keep my skills sharp."
Hex-Eye Azabi, khajiit daedric priestess: "I suppose it would be lucky, then, that I built a shrine to Mephala in my backyard."
Yngva Stormhammer, nord bandit (reformed...ish): "I hate being inside even when I'm not forced to be. GET. ME. OUT."
Madam Argentia, vampire dunmer aristocrat: "I suppose it would be more of the same. I have a rather... contentious relationship with the sun."
Mazie gra-Bolga, orc scout: "Uh... I'd have to house train my bear..."
Felicia the Wanderer, imperial witch-for-hire: "What Lorelai said."
Calico Jaka-dra, retired khajiit pirate: "This one would like a rest from her grand adventures. Her jewel shop runs out of stock!"
Shimmerbeam, blind altmer psijic: "Provided that I am confined to Artaeum, I do not think I will want for things to occupy my time."
Shauna Blackfire, redguard necromancer: "Sounds like paradise. I hate people."
Kirniel the Undying, cursed bosmer warrior: "I would feel useless, not being able to fight."
Echoes-from-Dragons, argonian who thinks she's a dragon: "All the better to count my hoard!"

I too have had a brand new kleptomaniacal impulse enabled by the crafting bag. Crafting bag has led me into a life of petty, bafflingly healthy, crime. I rob flour. I steal melons. I abscond with cabbages!! I have the sneaking suspicion that if my mother ever heard of my new criminal habit for stealing fruits and vegetables, she'd be very...conflicted.

I been curious on this as well. Every time I go to sell one that gives a warning before I click to sell, I hesitate and ask myself: will it be useful later? Should I sell it? Why is it asking me if I am sure?..... I always end up selling, but I question it every time, and never thought about housing..... Unless the asking is a mod that I have installed and not default. Still curious though :p

I stuffed RNGesus into my crafting bag. Took 4,950,194 spaces but it's all right because he still counts as an ingredient.

Then I let RNGesus do the heavy lifting. Go RNGesus, go!

I can't help it, I just have to stop and loot every single basket, crate, etc. I see people doing quests and they just run past everything and don't even bother to stop. With the crafting bag and auto loot I just click on everything, lol.
I have to look around every corner, check near every waterfall, open every chest, look in every sack and bag, loot every runestone, it's becoming an obsession! I constantly scan the sides of the roads and around every tree and rock for that purple glow of a thieves trove. If I am headed to a quest location and I look over and see an opening in some rocks I have to go see where it goes. I mine every ore and chop all the wood as well.

On my first dungeon experience my group just wanted to run to the boss and kill trash quickly. They passed up any containers and chests and I kept lagging behind cause I wanted to open them all. I really wondered if they were getting aggravated at me for having to play catch up the whole time.

That crafting bag did it to me!!!!!! Before I got that thing I never looted so much cause I was new and had limited bag space.

Do you just run past everything or do you loot it all? Is it pointless? Do I really need all this stuff? I mean at some point do you just have to stop and say "I have too many apples?"

There are few simple things I get a kick out of, and this is certainly one of them. The crafting bag is the best thing to happen to ESO and zenimax. Gathering an empire of harvestable material is a mini game now. Do you have enough apples? That's not really the question. The question is how many apples can you have????
