Trader. I am mistaken. Most files on the other Mac are in the same place as where this download is placing them on the 5k iMac there is an additional folder Documents/Elder Scrolls Online/Live containing some support files and folders. Folders such as Addons, Errors, Logs, Saved variables, Screenshots, and text files containing settings. Perhaps all that Documents data is created automatically by the game?
If the game allows it, the far easier way seems to be to copy all this to the equivalent locations on the 5K iMac.
Yes Trader. The copy is proceeding at breakneck speed and almost finished. My concern was that the game might run checks to see if the copy is a legit version of the game. I am about to find out. Don't suppose that matters as the game is protected by the need for me to login with a legit ID.

you can use the [ spoiler ] tag available from the format dropdown in the comment menu to hide large walls of text.
Anyhow, your issue seems to be the same Java problem that others reported as well. If you've started the Launcher I've provided above and clicked "Install", it should have created the folder
/Applications/Zenimax Online/The Elder Scrolls Online/depot
(or The Elder Scrolls Online EU, depending on which Megaserver you chose)
Within depot, there should be a folder called patchdata.depot, with some *.partial files, which are 2 GB in size (don't worry, they're mostly empty). You can safely delete those. Make sure that you have 50-60 GB of free space on the volume.
Now I don't know what's on the DVDs, because I've never seen them. If you see a lot of files like depot_-1to39.znn and the numbers nn counting upward, you could just copy them from the DVDs into the patchdata.depot folder.
If you see folders like depot (with a lot of *.dat files) , game_mac and vo_en, just copy them to the The Elder Scrolls Online folder (overwrite the depot folder if it already exists).
If you now start the Launcher, it should verify the contents of the depot folder (it may look like it's downloading, but it isn't), unpack the depot_*.z* files if it sees them, and then start downloading the latest patches to the game. Keep in mind that the files on the DVDs are naturally quite old and don't reflect the newest state of the game. You will have to download several GB of patch data anyway.
