This is just plain *** stupid now. Spent ages in Ghratwood trying to find the 2nd one. After 4 lag outs and about 30mins trying to find him as soon as he turns to dust I get dashboarded again. A log of who you've killed would have been good zos. GG. Time to *** about again and try and find him to make double sure. And fix Ghratwood ffs. It's laggier than wrothgar now.

The respawn timer on these NPCs seems to take ages :(
Actually I believe they respawn almost instantly - it's just that they wander over such a large area that it takes a long time to find them. For one of them I guess I killed her right by her spawn point (if they do have set spawn points), because about 10 seconds after I killed her she suddenly appeared again just a short distance away from her body.

It depends. It seems that sometimes theyll respawn instantly in other cases theyll take forever. Eldfyr for instance took me an hour + of waiting to finally kill him. His starting point is at the top of the landing to the docks near the forge before walking down to the docks and fishing for a while (why seaweed is mentioned in his hint). From there he seems to walk over to Mages Guild Hall and back to the docks. His body, people were killing him incorrectly, was all over the docks when I got there. I ran his loop numerous times over the hour trying to spot him, and others were doing the same. At some point the respawn cycle reset itself and he spawned in just before walking down to the docks to fish.

Other NPCs seem to be having the same issue. If they're killed too many times in succession the respawn cycle seems to get bugged and wont respawn the NPC for a while.

By the way, Ebaryd, for anyone thats wondering is in the Forge. The hint of a Golden Cage doesnt refer to his vest but the color and appearance of the Forge in which Ebaryd spends a good amount of time in. I spent about 10 minutes waiting for him to leave the Forge hoping to get him somewhere where there werent witnesses. But got fed up after about the 10th time he walked back into the Forge and stood with his back towards the forge.

The hints can be interpreted many ways, I do still firmly believe his "golden cage" is the gold lined vest that he wears, as all other targets only have hints refering to their apperance. I have found Ebrayd on the hill overlooking the Forge twice, so he doesn't only stay in the forge, but in the general area.

I haven't tried finding a target that was being repeatedly killed by several players, but I have noticed that after a few deaths the target will respawn in a new location. When I did this achievement the 2nd time around on the PTS I had Eldfyr constantly respawning inside the Fighter's Guild every time I killed him and then suddenly he didn't respawn there after killing him 4-5 times. Same thing with Cindiri Malas.

Im aware of him leaving the forge, as I said thats what I was waiting for him to do as there were too many NPCs in the Forge for a comfortable kill. I ended up settling for when he walked out to the overlook when I realized he wasnt going to leave the Forge entirely for what might be a while. And Eldfyr is definitely hinting at his location. His hint talks of seaweed, indicating you can find him on the docks. You may be right that he also spawns in the Fighters Guild, but I saw no evidence of that in the hour plus I was there. Players werent coming and going from the Fighters Guild, so if he was in there. It wasnt noticeable.

There has to a be a bug somewhere. I have been through the list twice. Killed them all using the blade of woe. All targets had the white eye etc and I double checked the names before moving on to the next one. I also got the red explosion each time I killed one. Now when I go back to the sanctuary there is still and empty pedestal. I can't interact with the pedestals so I have no way of knowing which one I allegedly don't have.
Updated - killed the guy in Sentinel again. Then went back and got the achievement.

Locate the achievement under Achievements > DLC > Dark Brotherhood, there should be a list with white text if it's ticked off or grey if it's missing. Hope this helps.

One thing which might be worth adding to the guide is a description of the route the npc's like to walk. I've observed them going on particular routes that are predictable.

If you make them yourself I am happy to feature them on the thread, but I will not be spending any more time fleshing out this guide as I don't have the time for it at the moment.

This a completely frustrating and tedious time sink, especially for those of us for whom the NPCs do not appear in the 'known vicinity'. This has happened for numerous NPCs now. I understand that the NPCs will not appear in EXACTLY the same place each time, but they should be at least in roughly the same area. Not all of us can spend hours looking for one NPC. Something to think about, Zenimax. This game is supposed to be for enjoyment, not frustration.

The nature of this collectible achievement having roaming targets is rather annoying, for sure. I know a lot of people are frustrated over the fact, but alas, nothing we can do now :)

I actually enjoyed having to hunt down my targets and wander about. I didn't try to do this in a single day, instead I did bits at a time when I was in the mood to take my time and go into first person mode and really check out NPCs. Plus I got to listen to some really interesting NPC dialogue I had missed with my previous characters.

By the way, that Polymorph is badass. Totally going to do it just for that lol.

That polymorph is possibly my new favorite thing in ESO.
When I got it and tried it, I was expecting another generic skeleton polymorph, just this time with armor on. Then I tried it and was like, "Holy ***! An Argonian skeleton, skeletal tail and everything! I'm so happy!"

Would love to see a screenshot of a Khajiit using it. Wanna see the cat skele.

Here is what the polymorph looks on my Khajiit!

I'm impressed. Wasn't expecting ZOS to design a feline specific skull. Any argonian pictures?
