Confuised about poisons

I guess I'm confused about poisons. For example: one poison says 20% chance to do 70 dmg per second for one second.
And that supersedes the enchantment that does 200 dmg every hit.
Am I missing something? The poison does so little damage why would I ever use it? Are there special effects? Something worthwhile for PvP? Why would I give up massive amounts of DPS?
One hit with the enchantment does 200 dmg, it will take 15 hits (5 hits at 20%, times 70 when it hits, times 3 to get to 200 dmg) The enchantment would do 3000 dmg in the same time that the poison does 200! Am I missing something??

Whatzituyah✭✭✭✭Its not the poison is powerful its how you can mix the effects. Poison craft is an art you are going to have to master.

✭This new alchemy system is great. I suggest you take a look on wikis and forum. There is also a great add-on for it, "potion maker".
The poisons are very powerfull if crafted correctly. It can give you a huge advantage, especially in PVP. But the 20% ratio is way too low.
