Having issues making the final decision on what class to play. Limited it down to Templar and Dragonknight. Going to be playing as an Imperial, and looking to mainly do dungeons as tank or dps and would like to be able to heal well in PvP. I prefer to roll just one character and do pretty much everything as that one character. As well, I'll be mostly solo leveling, and probably pugs for group content and PvP. No plan to stay as stamina or magicka as I like to change up my play style occasionally as well as adapt to patches. Raids/Trials are not really in my plan yet so not too worried about consideration of those. Any info to help make the decision is much appreciated.

I've leveled both classes to at least 25 while playing on PS4 awhile ago.

    Magicka Templar

Best healer in the game can switch skills and do good DPS with magicka skills

    Tanking is really stamina based.

You cant do both stam and magicka (hybrid build) and be good at anything in this game unfortunately

For magicka templar, High elf and breton are good choices for their magicka passives

Stamina Imperial Dragonknights make great tanks

Imperials make fantastic stamina tanks, pretty much across the board. Just as a product of their racial passives.

I <3 Magicka Tanks. Just me...

If you're going to play a Magicka Templar I wouldn't pick an Imperial unless you give no *** about passives and just want him to be an Imperial. In which case, party on, Garth!
Wake up, we're here. Why are you shaking? Are you ok? Wake up...

Though it IS possible to have a dk healing tank, it is by far easier to do it with a templar. (I mainly play nb and preferably sorc healing tanks). Firstly, do not spend a single point on life (as long as you don´t want to do PvE raids). Life comes with buff food and specific tank equipment/ enchantment. Focus on either stamina or magica.

You should get vigor as fast as possible. Then come in contact with a good crafter who will craft you 2 different sets of armor:

One for tanking (enchanted with life), and one for healing/PvP (enchanted with EITHER stamina or magica/ weapon OR magic damage).

The healing/PvP one should be "Pelinal´s Aptitude" -> this set allows you to be a stronger PUG PvP healer than most ordinary magika templars, because you can use 2 of the most important PvP healing skills which perfectly complement each other: vigor and breath of life. Both are instant, easy to use, and more importantly, don´t compete for the same ressource pool. One is a HoT, the other is a direct heal. Even more importantly, you won´t become a lame duck when the enemy raid is spamming negation fields everywhere. 3 or 4 templars with such a setup in a PUG raid constitute a severe problem for even 90% of the guild raids out there, as vigor stacks with other player´s vigor.

DDK is the Daggerfall Covenant´s last line of defense on the 30 days no-cp campaign (EU). We intend to fight epic battles in small, casual player friendly raid groups.

    Play

    Sorcerers

If you follow that you can't go wrong, your character will be the best in at least one role in this game.

DKs are the best DPS and best Tanks.
    Templars are the best Healers
Nightblades are the best in PvP.

Imperial stamplar if you wanna go stam dps or tank
Argonian (healer) or breton(dps)templar for magicka

Templar easily best class in the game
Heals, sustain, nice damage, cool abilities, buffs, and versatility. They can heal dps and tank (:
May the Schwartz be with you.
