With all its flaws I voted ESO, because it is the game I play the most, well the only game atm lol.

Why would I vote from another game that I hardly play anymore or dont play at all?

Lots of people putting down ZOS /ESO , why bother coming to this forum if you hate the game so much?

    For me... not hate... disappointment.

For 2015 in the MMORPG poll, I voted for ESO and was glad to see that it won. I feel that it was deserved because the game was a lot better than people were giving it credit for, and it had a lot of potential.

This year, it is essentially the same game. They really have not done enough to move the game forward and earn a "Best MMO" title this year. Imperial City was not really a compelling DLC, given what it was supposed to be. Orsinium was a jewel, and still is, but we are not getting an Orsinium every 3 months. The two Guild DLC this month are just tiny incremental updates and neither is so compelling that it pushes ESO into a "Best" category for this year.

Update 11 is going to be too small to really do anything.

The removal of Veteran Ranks and One Tamriel are mixed, in my opinion. They needed to remove Veteran Ranks, but they just added them back in with Champion Ranks and changed things up a little. It is a marginal improvement, but there are still 16 "levels" following 50 and gear is still tied to those 16 levels. They gave Champion Points to every character on the account, which unbalances 1-50 content, and made it so that end game players can skip 15 of those 16 post-50 levels, which really begs the question about why they bothered with the 16 post-50 levels if they are only being used by new players. In some ways, I feel that Cadwell was a better game design than Champion System. I always felt that Cadwell was just a concession to how much time they had before launch. Champion System makes me feel like they didn't quite finish designing it before they implemented it.

We should have been able to walk Tamriel with any character, no Cadwell required, from day one, so One Tamriel is just them going back and trying to fix what they messed up back in 2013 and early 2014. What I wanted to see with One Tamriel is simply no more Alliance division in the PVE world. Let everyone have "Any Race, Any Alliance" by simply not asking for an Alliance at character generation. The character does not have to formally pick an Alliance until they enter Cyrodiil, but can pick a starting Alliance out of Wailing Prison or just take a random location in Stros, Khenarthi, or Bleakrock (as implied by the Prophet). The leveling zones would be the same as they are today in order to preserve two feelings: (1) there are areas bigger than me that need to be conquered, when I am ready, and (2) areas that I have beaten remain beaten and are not suddenly stronger just because I came back to them. I really don't want to play in a world that is always scaled to me. No matter where I go, the world is ready for me. The feeling of progress in the world is greatly reduced.

As an aside to One Tamriel and as a realization that the world is going to scale no matter what I say, my parting comment is to suggest that they eliminate character levels entirely. Just get rid of them. Let characters level up crafting and class skill lines as they normally would, and when one of their class skill lines hits 50, start the account on earning Champion Points. In a world where I am being scaled to Level 50 (presumably), what does it matter if my character level is 3 or 30? Just make everything based on the highest class skill line.

None because the site that Eso the awarded was actually doing an award poll base off of fans and their own point of view. This is just some fun poll and not even important.

Not likely to happen. None of the games in that list are games that I feel deserve a "Best MMO" from me.

I don't expect ESO to be perfect. This is about Best MMO, not Most Perfect Game... it is not even about Games I Like To Play.

Also, be careful about how you toss around the labels. I neither dislike nor hate ESO.

Well, even I live not far away from the contested area in The Bleak Lands, I am not really familiar with what is going on in faction war territory. The only time I touch that area is when I pass through with my blockade runner - sorry.

OP you must be joking. Within my first 30 days play time I encountered 17+ bugs within the game from my leveling experience from 1-50cp70. That is almost a bug every other day. If I received 30 packages from UPS with 15 of the items broken, should I give UPS a good review too? I have seen indie developers with more competence than this company with a smaller development team. I haven't even gotten to end game and I've already encountered more bugs than I have ever encountered in all the games I have played combined and I have been playing games since the first nintendo. I'd rather give Devillian my vote and that is saying a lot.

I love ESO. Been playing since start. And I'm still having a great time. If I voted, I'm afraid I'd be terribly biased because I know nothing about the other games. But then again, why would I want to play something else? Why choose something else if I'm still looking foward to another day of pvp?

Because when the game wasn't bugged to hell, full of cheaters, and poor performance it was great. It's sad to see that happen and just sit here wishing the devs would actually fix all this crap but that's never happening. It's just gonna get buggier and buggier until everyone quits. %99 of my friends list does not play any more, my old PVP guild is dead because of performance issues with the game and cheaters... I have no reason to stick around. Solo questing got boring and with the group finder broken I can't even run dungeons which was the last thing keeping me in the game.

What cheaters lol? Is that only on PC? I play on PS4 and I've never seen a cheater in 6 months of playing.

ESO has never won Best Game of any year even though they like to advertise that they have. They have been "Nominated" for best game, but that is it. EvE Online generally Runs Consecutively Year to Year for best MMORPG. With a few exceptions.

Also look at the votes on that website. Total votes for all games is only like 10,000. So it's not even a mainstream official website for it.

Wow only has 1500 Votes? As if. I hate wow and I know it'll officially get over 100,000.
EvE Online isn't even listed under votes, I know it'll get well over 500k. It always does.

IF ESO has won some award, it's from a 2 bit small community website, Not any "Official" Site which maintains such things. I Have a subscription to both IGN, and Game Informer (Game-stops premier magazine). Neither of them have ever listed any wards at all for ESO. Except maybe "Most anticipated Game"... Until it launched anyway.

No, it's not the best. Inferior software, lags, fps drops.

It looses the competition because of the existing bugs. and the greed shop, sellng us vampire and WW bites for 15$ for ONE use only on one character. :( And similar DLC like Brotherhood and Thieves guild, that should be part of the core main game. Like in every other Elder scrolls game in existence.

Copying my response from the same thread on Reddit.

Considering Zenimax is part of the package with ESO, the game doesn't deserve to win.

It's called best MMO poll, not best company poll.

Yes, because the company developing the game doesn't affect at all the player's experience. Sigh...

Then judge the experience. Not the company.

"i do not like this game because the experience is bad" is okay
"i do not like this game because it was made by company X" is not okay

/facepalm... the company has a huge affect on the quality of the game. Currently the experience is: lag, bugs, crashing, exploits, and hackers... all things this company has no idea what to do with.

But can you praise the devs of the other games and say they do their jobs perfectly? If not then you can see Sharee's point.

I don't even notice because pretty much any other company is way more competent at development then ZOS is.

I agree. And most of the other devs know the 101 of MMO, like proper party building, playing together, working group finders. Party finders, even random group finding while entering a dungeon/instance. Where is no need for every person to solve their quest alone, while in a group. And so on.

Additionally other devs are able to see and detect the proper time for instancing or phasing. Using it in all quests, even the sidequests, that aren't fetch quests.-

So, no, this is a fun game for single players, but not the best MMO.
