No they don't because they Nerf all of that content so casual players can finish them.Recently they nerfed WGT and ICP because not enough causal players have completed it.

I would like to see at least Craglorn level of difficulty (scaled up to CP160). In Craglorn you can still be one-shot by archers or swarmed by those wasps if you are not careful. It is a good balance for all players.

Player power has grown so much in the last year or so, mobs haven't really kept up. Anyone remember original vet levels?

Because 99% of the game is stupidly easy because casual's complained too much, instead of just adapting to the game and actually have to think.

This is something I noticed after playing beta/release then coming back a few weeks ago, my son and I started new characters and we are blitzing through it, it's far too easy, we don't need to concern ourselves with strategy to take down a tough mob, no need for potions nor to keep our gear up to our level, no need to use a certain element against a creature who is vulnerable to it, click a few buttons and it's dead, it has just become too themepark, back in release, I died a lot, it forced me to think.
So my boy has gone back to Skyrim and I'm just enjoying the storyline, there is little satisfaction and zero challenge.

    Exactly this, Thanks insighfull

There has been some discussion in the forums about improving the difficulty for players (including possibly a difficulty slider). But so far that's only discussion in the forums. ZOS's history of nerfing content, most recently WGT and ICP, does not indicate major DLC patches will be challenging in the near term.

Instead of "casuals" getting mad at hardcore players for wanting a challenge, and instead of "hardcore" gamers getting mad at casuals for asking for absolutely everything to be nerfed, can we all agree that they should implement a normal and vet version of each zone, letting you zone into it how you want and getting the challenge you desire? Yeah but you can also kind of understand. The content is objectively easy, which you can feel about how you do. I'd personally like a normal/vet slider on each zone. But also once you reach CP cap it's like, well now what? I can't progress anymore. if they'd implement normal and vet versions of each zone, then everyone could be happy and the cp cap could be raised.

His assessment of the player base is no more informed than yours. None of us have any idea of what the majority of the player base spends their time doing. I'd be more inclined to suspect the average player participates 50/50 in PVP and PVE. None of us have any numbers informing us of what the majority does. So let's not disparage others. All of this can be quite easily solved by implementing a normal/vet system for zones. The starter zone should be always normal, and then players have the choice to challenge themselves with vet and be rewarded with slightly better gear, or normal depending on their skill level just like the other dungeons.

I'm so tired of parsing Matt's statement, because while he did say that he said nothing of how it got that way. You're just as right to argue that's what players want as I am to argue that's how they behave out of necessity because of game design.

Yeah but I just think that's highly unlikely. People will complain regardless, I just think you could get closer to a consensus by implementing the normal/vet thing, with the added benefit of hopefully reducing lag when one Tamriel is implemented by partitioning the population between normal and vet.

With all due respect - how do you know what the majority want? We can all quote the majority. If as you say "ESO has to scale the content to appeal to the maximum amount of players possible." then why is it set at such a low difficulty bar? Also from this thread alone as a straw pole you can see that the DLC is not appealing to everyone and that includes self proffessed "casuals".

The devs demonstrated real vision when they created Craglorn as an adventure zone. Delves and content to do with groups and randoms from 2-4/ We also had some good old fashioned xp level grinding with large zergs.

Sadly the zergs got nerfed because of forums and then others complained because they expected to be able to do the whole game solo and without being at max. And that was the end of that.

The "majority", appeal to everyone argument gets bandied about so much that what we end up with is vanilla content all set at a low difficulty level, whic for some is boring, rather than there being something for everyone.

Whilst craglorn wasnt perfect there were some glorious times to be had when it was current. If only the community had allowed the devs to run with their original ideas and develop craglorn as a zone who knows what options we would have now.

Sadly what we see time and time again is some players who argue the "casual" cause (sorry if that term offends anyone) actually being some of the most vociferous and passive aggressive players on the forums and not allowing variety or tiers of difficulty for open world content.
