I would have liked that changing characters appearance has been for free for ESO Plus members just like it is for dyeing costumes from the dyeing station in game. When you just want to change your hair color for example, it's a bit lame to pay a token full price just for one little change or adjustment.

Let's wait next week to see how much crowns this will cost. x)

I would pay to change my hair color with a huge smile on my face if the color selection wasn't unfairly limited by race.

IIrc they said, that this is in discussion, to dye hair and beards, but they did not make a decision about it yet. It would go great with a 3 slot system for each of those - one base color near the skin, second target color of most of the hair, 3rd highlights in the hair. And maybe it would not be a bad idea to hire a hairstylist instead to let that do the guys of systems mechanics - those previews I have seen are not really what I desire when it comes to hairstyles.

Making money off people's indecisiveness combined with the impulsive nature of online purchases. LOL. They won't get any money from me, but I'm sure they will make bank from a lot of other players.

It is basically like in real life - hairstylists make their money with females, not with males. We want to change our appearance and be something different - more often with clothing, less often with hair - but still often enough to make it a huge business.

If it is reasonably priced, I will make use of this on a regular basis - and I think it will be reasonably priced, because it would make a lot of people use their crowns on a couple of tokens to be able to adjust their appearance to what they currently are wearing. Not just once, but once in a while or after their leisure - but this will just happen, if it is reasonably priced and those tokens become a regular consumable.

Not sure why this is a surprise to many... the crown store has always been about cosmetics, & this is about the most cosmetic thing you can possibly imagine.

Whilst I don't like everything they do by a long stretch... I can't see any problem at all with paying for these cosmetic items.. they aren't needed, they are a luxury item, & as such fund the game being sub free if thats peoples wish.

I just wanted it to be a little more immersive. Like have actual barber shop in game that we go to for our haircuts. 20 year old WoW has it, why can't ESO?

TESO needs a wardrobe system badly. Something similar to WoW's tmog system would make this game one of the best mmorpg out there!

Yes, I think so too - to me it makes me feel good, if I can change my apperaance and wear different stuff and can dye it after my leisure and make things fit - I even choose my mount after what I am wearing and the location where I use those. To me appearance is a quite important part of my life - not just in a game, but everywhere. That is as well why I complain when a costume or armor is not fitting well. It makes me feel bad and my desire to play the game goes down and can even reach zero, so that I pause and do not want to play at all. That important it is to me.

Really? this is just laziness on their behalf, If the other people from way back when who were working on ESO didn't leave and were still working on it, we would probably have the game we wanted by now.

That's business - if you make too many decisions, which do not create enough income, you have to leave as a manager or in a leading position. That is just how things are on management level. A few wrong decisions and you are out. You have to see, that for ZOS this is a product which is meant to create profit and not too little - just look at the list of investors and you see, that are people, who want real profit and give a damn about gaming other than as a profit source.

Really? I probably missed it then. I am not a native English speaker and I read/write English much more often than I liste/speak it, so I often misunderstand what they say. Well, hope renewed! Thanks!
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

It should have been an actual in-game shop, but I guess that ship has sailed. What happened to the immersive game we used to have?

What they should really do is allow free appearance changes via the shop for Plus members. Not the additional styles, etc., just the basic appearance system when you first roll your character.

I'm kind of laughing about all of this because I've said this for months, that they will probably just add some means to take us back to the existing character creator and make changes from there... and that's exactly what they've done for appearance, name change and race change.

Oh, and btw, how come no comments about the fact that racial passive changes are coming?!?

The cash grab is real with Zenimax.

What do you expect, don't like the look or other things with you're character? You have 2 options. 1) pay with crowns and 2)make a new character. It's a business after all.

All had such things integrated into the game. Such a shame development here didn't make the effort to more. But still glad we have something, albeit the bare minimum they could have done.

For a development that teams that talks so much about the importance immersion, roleplay, and similar... Their actions sure are very different from their words at times.

Still, glad we have something, just saddened it's largely a token effort.

Yup, or at least free to ESO Plus up to a limit per month. Edit: for basic appearance, not race or name. Maybe they could include one appearance token with ESO Plus somehow.

I would guess these will be 100 per token for the basic appearance change, more for race, and a lot more for name. They will sell them in lots of 10, probably.

Yeah, same here, but the character select and creation screens already exist and make it easier. Race and name change need to be while logged out of the game world. Might need to be that way for some of the appearance stuff, too. I suppose it makes sense, but still disappointed.

I was hoping that it would have at least had some basic things you could have done for in game gold, and premium things through the store, kind of disappointed that it looks like everything will be through the store, doubt I will use it at this point.

Absolutely. If this was a sub game only I would stay subbed as long as the game is still great for me. But this is a hybrid model. Every cent I give them, that contributes to them locking things behind the monthly paywall and making me mess with stupid hundreds of micro transactions in the off chance I don't want to sub for awhile. If I could buy the whole feature in one purchase then I wouldn't have to screw with the crown store as much.

Sure Runescape had one that cost gold too. 3k to be precise, at least in Classic days.

Ah, good ol' Runescpae make over mage. The place you could go south of Falador to pay some strange guy in a house to give your female character a beard.
