I remember fighting No Mercy while in Havoc groups. There was plenty of respect for their DKs, they had us outclassed on that hardcore. You are a good DK. There were just better ones, the NM DKs (Asgari, Jones, BBQ, etc) among them.
asgari is the only one that has solo skill. The rest of them played in a 12 man. In my opinion playing in that size of group isn't that impressive.
Do we need to start linking Havoc videos? If you want to hate on groups bigger than what you play that's fine, kinda childish but fine, do your thing. But you should at least practice what you preach here.1 -

Grow up Axy, everyone knows bbq is a fantastic DK, that's why he's on nearly everyone's list, but honestly what is a 1v1 really going to prove? There is so little skill involved in dueling anymore that it seems like a silly request.1 -

Normally I wouldn't get involved in this kind of conversation, but I think it's a bit false to make a lot of rude claims against others skill levels when I remember often hearing a certain someone ask Kodi how to build his DK... Also, interesting to see who else went stamplar went Kodi went stamplar...
Since I want to get yelled at, I will say that I always liked watching Supernico (no mentions so far!), Permared, and Asgari on mDK. Also, props to Xsorus playing his stam DK back in the day (even if you weren't impressed, he was one of the few stamina DK's those days).
And of course, Sheliza lol.mDK will rise again.

Then again I don't understand any of the nostalgia for 1.5. I suppose lag severe enough to cause regular roll backs, and zergs of people spamming wall of elements was fun to some people.
The 1.6 mDK was the most challenging, yet competitive version there ever was. I miss it dearly.
I agree with this and it rang true especially on console. Nirnhoned wasn't really around so we didn't have the extra resistances to combat.
I just don't see most of the players that OP listed as actually having skill on mDK because the class was so significantly overpowered when they played. Sure they are probably good players but what would truly be awesome is to get everyone playing in a balanced meta so people can't cheese flavor of the month.0 -

It's kinda funny from my perspective, seeing as the EP VE core was one of the better small man teams back in the Wabba/TB days, and the DC core has a lot of Mostly Harmless (again, one of the best small man groups of that time) and No Mercy/MBF players. I have many fond memories of duoing outside Ash, fighting the Quietus/Murdo gang, dueling Sypher as a Stam NB in 1.5, watching bulb duel the entire DiE guild outside Nikel, Teargrants going vs German/Ezareth in some crazy long fights, delaying and messing with entire AD raids with 4 people to give a newly formed Havoc time to do their thing.
But naw. We zergbads to a man.

I remember fighting No Mercy while in Havoc groups. There was plenty of respect for their DKs, they had us outclassed on that hardcore. You are a good DK. There were just better ones, the NM DKs (Asgari, Jones, BBQ, etc) among them.
asgari is the only one that has solo skill. The rest of them played in a 12 man. In my opinion playing in that size of group isn't that impressive.
Do we need to start linking Havoc videos? If you want to hate on groups bigger than what you play that's fine, kinda childish but fine, do your thing. But you should at least practice what you preach here.
I want this guy to be put in his place. nobody in ve has any type of solo skill. i ask aoe to duel because he likes to be cocky on the forums and cant back it up.
It's kinda funny from my perspective, seeing as the EP VE core was one of the better small man teams back in the Wabba/TB days, and the DC core has a lot of Mostly Harmless (again, one of the best small man groups of that time) and No Mercy/MBF players. I have many fond memories of duoing outside Ash, fighting the Quietus/Murdo gang, dueling Sypher as a Stam NB in 1.5, watching bulb duel the entire DiE guild outside Nikel, Teargrants going vs German/Ezareth in some crazy long fights, delaying and messing with entire AD raids with 4 people to give a newly formed Havoc time to do their thing.
But naw. We zergbads to a man.
If it makes him feel better we can link videos of us wiping raids with 6 people, I can link Kirn Blaze and I fighting 2v10+ to show our distinct lack of skill and zergling nature.0 -

Normally I wouldn't get involved in this kind of conversation, but I think it's a bit false to make a lot of rude claims against others skill levels when I remember often hearing a certain someone ask Kodi how to build his DK... Since I want to get yelled at, I will say that I always liked watching Supernico (no mentions so far!), Permared, and Asgari on mDK. Also, props to Xsorus playing his stam DK back in the day (even if you weren't impressed, he was one of the few stamina DK's those days).

I suppose lag severe enough to cause regular roll backs, and zergs of people spamming wall of elements was fun to some people.

Since 1.5 clearly the devs put alot more time in nerfing DKs than any other class.
Everyone is always happy when other classes get nerfed but first to come to the forums and raise Oblivion when their build is targeted by the nerfhammer.

I've talked at length about this with Asgari and at a certain point everyone stopped playing their mDk's because they were irrefutably weaker than alternative classes. Can't play a class for strictly nostalgic reasons forever. Their class defining heal has been ignored for 10 months which is a travesty.
In 1.6, mDk changed forever. CP was introduced, stat pools increased, soft caps removed, stam was given heals, ash cloud was nerfed and slowly but surely the meta shifted to suit all bursty builds. Out-sustaining someone in a fight is a rarity when nearly everyone can sustain through CP and mundus. And that was the niche of the late great magicka dragonknight.
Sad times for mDk, and though the DB patch rejuvenated them to an extent with the changes to mist form and harness, this class is still distinctly lost as a solo class in comparison to others.3 -

The 1.6 mDK was the most challenging, yet competitive version there ever was. I miss it dearly.
the 1.6 dk had the most pathetic damage thanks to nirnhoned gear, was one of the most useless builds mana builds to play
But if the DK was wearing nirn, it was virtually impossible to kill. It was rather hilarious running around zergs of 30+ being all but immortal until a sexual nightblade (a guildies name for one of those ridiculous one shot from stealth supergankers from the same era) got involved.

This. However those times are so few and far between that maybe they're really not that great. I love my Mag DK to bits, and hate her in equal measure.0 -

Skaffa was teaching me how to play mDK solo. Ran into him at the Chalman Milegate and lost a fun fight. He then gave me some pointers and I lost like 20 duels with him, but won a lot of fights that were not against him.
Then IC came out... /cry0
