When is this going to become a thing. It sucks so bad looking all over the place to find something or not find what you're looking for. Or then pay too much because no one knows how much something should cost......and my poor guild leader staying up til 6:00am to bid, then not bidding enough....even upwards 4 mil, or then the surprise early Monday maintenance schedule for the PC players.

I def prefer not to have it. Right now it's like the early days of eBay, deals to be had if you put the effort in. Effort / reward. One big shop will remove that. It also makes no sense lore wise really. Well unless you mean a real live auction house with people bidding haha :)

Never, yet another feature like BG's that are available in other MMO's. This economy is one of the most well thought out under appreciated features in the game. Just like RvRvR and wanting to go back to instanced battlegrounds? I don't get why people want the same old thing that has been around for decades. There are way too many benefits to the AH system as is. Prices was be insanely higher with a global AH.

I'm against an AH, though it would be nice if we had a search function in the guild traders. It can get tedious to say the least when searching for that last motif you need to complete a specific style.

A few people on the forums hardly counts as the 'masses'. The only people against an auction house are the people in big trade guilds. They do no want to lose all that gold. A global trading post would take the money out of the hands of these huge trading 'guilds' and into the average player... of course they don't want that. They can't corner the market anymore.

    Well said!

An auction house would be really really good for conglomerate, mass stuff. For individuals, it would suck.

Are you on skooma? I mean if you really think that would happen...you are in mirror land.

Big guilds would rotate peeps, buying up any "under priced" (read: reasonably priced) stuff, and then repost it for as much as they can.

Individuals would be forced to compete with such moster guilds .... and they would lose. The average farmer (read: rich player) would be able to buy anything, as long as they pay through the nose for it.

The non-compulsive player would basically not be able to afford much.

The big trade guilds are the ones with more reasonable prices, because they're competing with all the other trade guilds who've won their bid in a prime spot. I dropped my trade guild because no matter how low you'd sell something for you'd always get undercut.

I'd say the only people against it are people so antisocial they can't even take two minutes to communicate with some one to join a trade guild.

What I did was join a huge trading guild, in fact, two of them. Problem solved. I think there might be a similar solution for others out there...just not thinking of it right now...oh, perhaps join a trading guild? Yep, that's it.

There is no need for an Auction House. If you visit any Trading Center that has 4 to 6 Kiosks, and your Bank assuming you have 3 to 5 guilds with a store (with or without a Kiosk) you can find anything you want or need.

Other than Rare items or bargains. By definition, Rare items should take time and effort to acquire, otherwise they would not be rare. And, Bargains, that's your choice to try to find the lowest price possible, and again, you have to shop around for that.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Never understood this mentality. My guild currently requires 5K in sales per week. If you fall below, you just buy raffle tickets to cover your bad week. Even if I had to pay 5K out of pocket outside of sales I would do it. With my current trade guild I typically sell 20k worth of stuff a week (probably 100 gold if vendored) and I don't play more than an hour a day on average.

It is like this: would you rather run an everyday yard sale and make maybe $100 a week, or open a store, pay $200 rent, and make $1,000 a week?

I have not talked to one single person in either trading guild in weeks. In fact, I don't even have my chat window open 90% of the time. They do dungeons and trials outside of the trading thing as well, but none of that is a requirement at all to be in the guild and selling stuff.

    .

The thing with a global trading post (not auction house) is that there would be many prices for the same thing. You buy it now, not place a bid, or place an order. All the different prices show up for that item, not many separate listings for the same thing. You could list something higher than the lowest price, but no one would buy it. If you wanted to get yours sold you'd list it lower than the current lowest. Prices would go down not up. The average player could sell instantly and get their gold right now. Not waiting for days/weeks/months.

I would say no to auction style listings and make it single items that have multiple prices. People could buy low and relist them for higher but there would be limits to stop this. Like can only list for this many gold lower than the lowest price or this many gold higher than the highest price. And the low/high price doesn't change for a set time period (like a week or something).
