In TES games I have always carried a ridiculous amount to torches in my inventory because I tend to have my settings fairly dark to enhance dungeon atmosphere. I like using torches just for immersion at night time as well so I would love to see torches added as a craftable item at wood working stations. They could be used via the quickslot or assigned their own key.
What do others think?
It's a reference to an old text-only computer game called Zork. That line is what the game told you. If you asked what a grue was you got more of an explanation. Sure enough, if you didn't get a torch or get someplace with some light, you would be eaten by a grue. Yes, I realize I'm dating myself by admitting to have played text-only computer games...purple-magicb16_ESO wrote: »Re Grue: not sure what that is, but it sounds nasty and not at all something I'd like to take on alone. Do they live under kids' beds? Cause I think I mite have had one as a kid. XD

Was this in Morrowind? I don't remember being able craft torches in Skyrim or Oblivion.

/torch works well enough, too bad you can't move while using it.
This game doesn't really need torches though, it's not that dark even inside of caves and at night.

HOLY NECROTHREAD BATMAN!
I don't think we should be able to craft them. My thoughts are here. Looting and buying them would be good enough.

I will second the "holy necrothread" statement!
But on topic, when I first started playing, at console launch, I was really wanting torches but I quickly got over it. Torch emote works okay for meetings etc.

I agree. If night was pitch black it would add A LOT to the depth of this game.
Make a cave per zone that is a scary, creepy, nightmare to enter.

Great threads that were well put together.
I couldn't agree more.
I much rather things like this be implemented instead of all the vanity features.
