How about we compromise?
It's cool to make threads about people you love.
But let's keep it to people who still play, and still play the build you are gushing on.
Or people can just do whatever they feel like doing and it shouldn't bother you to the point that you feel the need to "compromise" over something that has no effect on anything in the first place..

I made some jokes, on our forums, about this game we play.. didn't think it was a big deal
wait, do we play it? or do you just play it to bleed views into you overwatch stream?... regardless it's not the place for such discussions.
@name a bunch more people who don't play anymore or play mDK's anymore and have your fun... the forums are for everyone
I like the part how only streamers and video spammers are listed.
The best players in ESO dont record videos, they dont need to. Their reputations speak for themselves.
Thats all.
Some do, some don't. Uploading or streaming does not determine this. To make blanket statements like "The best players in ESO don't record videos" is simply misguided.
I can atleast personally speak to the skill level of Asgari, Sypher and Vir Cor as I've played with and against these guys. They are all monsters in their own right and to try to diminish that because they are visible by the community is unfair.
Most of the names listed are mediocre to decent, and mostly stand out today because so many that were actual pioneers and stalwarts of the class, left.
I have a deep rooted hatred of lauding praise on people who are only "famous" because they posted a video of wrecking a bunch of noobs with bats, shuffle rockclimbing, or something similar, any competent DK can do that. Fanboyism is probably my biggest peeve with the playerbase of ESO. Many people get props they never actually deserved. If I had a dollar for every epic moment I never captured on video, all the streamboys would think I was some amazing ball of win as well, but I am not that vain. Nor do I consider myself a top echelon DK player, maybe another class.
Hell half of that list itself, they dont even play mDK anymore, they went FOTM meta and abandoned theirs. Vir Cor is the only one I recognize who as of anytime recent has been on one, and his is mostly tank with very little spank. Unless something changed drastically in the last month I am unaware of, none of these DKs are particularly "dangerous"
Some good players sure, know their class, but to laud them as some kind of ESO hall of fame? Hardly. The very first thing that came to mind is where the hell is BBQ, probably the best DK to ever play ESO. He doesnt make videos. Hell Aegon is better than most of these guys, and I dont even like him. Spade a spade though.
and now i understand why sub doesnt like you xD

Are these players good? Absolutely, even I have to admit that. Are they the best ever? No. Are they the best playing today? Also no. The majority of the truly skilled/best players are footnotes in ESO history now. Sadly. But I remember them all, and it pains me to see second string acting like they are better than first string ever was.
Hell we have crossed into a twilight zone in ESO PvP where the former practice squads have become the starters because all the good players left. Let that sink in for a minute and for once someone might understand my cynicism towards this kinda stuff. I was around when the best of the best played, played actively and hard. Todays meta and playerbase doesnt hold a candle to what we had back in Wabba and Dawnbreaker. Sorry for the reality check on that, but good players? Maybe today because the ones that used to overshadow them are no long here casting those shadows.

You can't compare pre 1.6 to post 1.6 unless the players are still here. It's a totally different game, with post 1.6 more catered towards groups while pre 1.6 was about single players having infinite ultimate to be able to take on the numbers they did.
The OP in this case is a console player and hence he wasn't able to witness pre 1.6 players playing so he has nothing to base his opinion on but what he sees before him.
I have witnessed some skilled players from the pre 1.6 era come back and they couldn't play in this meta. Does this mean they are bad players? no. I have seen players do amazing things in this meta, does this mean they are good players? probably. Can you compare the two? no.

I'm gonna have to agree here.
I will also argue that 1.0 - 1.2 doesn't really count either. The game was so ridiculously broken at that time.
Patches 1.3 thru 1.5 were a completely different game than the post 1.6 game we have now.
I miss Agrippa. He was a leader both online and offline.
I would put any mDK from the glory days that remained an mDK through all the garbage changes on my honor wall.
ya'll are like them 28 year olds that are sitting at the bar saying:
"man i was soooo cool back in the 12th grade!"
time to move on. Ive seen some things from members on that list of "most epic mDKs on the planet" that was straight exploitation. It literally led me to my first emperorship feuding with one of those guys for straight cheating. For the sake of the forum's strict anti shaming policy i cant call them out here but i have video recordings of the kind of crap that was being done. That person doesnt get my respect and my eyes roll so far back in my skull over the circle jerking i see here over that individual.
and i agree with whoever said the game is a totally different beast now than it was. I highly doubt the old players could even keep up with today's meta. so many abusable skills were straight nerfed. sure some still exist and that whole CE debacle was sad, but i really feel like old players, unless they stayed up with the times, couldnt handle today's ESO. its like that DC pvp guild that rerolled EP that starts with an "E" and ends iwth a "J" that tried to make a big comeback and no one cared.
ultimately, i guess its fair for everyone to reminisce and gush over their past heroes but ESO is just hitting its stride. You can live in the past, or forge a future.

Then there are those of us that have been here the whole time watching people that havent really improved at all over the years, thump their chests about how great they are, when really, they got the spot someone else used to hold.
Thats the gist of it. Its the egos that irritate me.
