Seeing as the moderators are waking up now I actually have a request.

Please can you leave this thread open as long as it remains constructive @ZOS_AlanG @ZOS_DaryaK

I noticed when I closed my sub there was little chance for giving feedback as to why, and it's interesting reading the longer replies from players like @daemonios

Maybe forward this thread on to someone who could make use of the feedback which causes members to close subscriptions.

-Xbox one doesn't give me crowns...even days or weeks later after I pay regardless of CC, PayPal, etc.
-Support acts like its my fault their system is broken and asks me for proof like I'm trying to get a driver license
-the way this is designed it doesn't compliment with Xbox Live because the DLC should be in the xbox store and not in some magical server state so when there are slight XBL issues, playing on my home console would not cause a problem.

It is actually funny cause when you're new and just getting into the game, you first read that ESO is no subscription required. Of course that is true for the non-DLC portion, but then to be able to get into Wrothgar and Hew's bane (and now DB), you have to subscribe. I know you don't have to.. but, that is not the point. Normally for a good game, such as this, you would drop the extra money and get the DLC. However, unlike this game, other games' DLC are normally a one-time purchase. To experience the most out of ESO and Tamriel, you would need to get all the DLC. So, overall, ESO is technically subscription required. I find that funny because there is no mention of a required subscription for the DLCs when you first buy the main game. I guess.. unless you have the time and dedication to properly research beforehand.

I don't quite understand what you mean here. All of the ESO dlc's are one time purchases as well. Don't you have to buy all the available DLC's in any game to experience the most out of said game?

Cancelled mine this morning, although it's a six month cycle which renewed a couple of weeks ago so I have some time left to see if things change before losing ESO+ perks.

First reason: the shambles which is the cheat engine issue.

Second reason: @ZOS_MattFiror saying there are no hardcore ESO players. I know it was not his intent, but that's pretty damn insulting to the people like myself who have been here since the start.

As I stated in my thread, I cancelled my ESO+ subscription because I have no reason to believe ZOS will be bringing the game back to something I want to support financially.

The straw that broke the camel's back would be Matt Firor's interview where he basically wrote off zero-day subscribers like me. In his words, ZOS will cater the game to people who log in after a DLC is out, play for 2 weeks then leave again.

I and many others have subscribed to the game since early access and have kept our subs through the initial item dupe exploits, bot-ridden delves, teleporting crafting node farmers, then the infamous "lighting" patch that broke Cyrodiil bringing most players' FPS down to single digits, the bait-and-switch of announcing their commitment to a subscription-only model and then going F2P, the months upon months of waiting for new content which going forward will consist of tiny "episodic" DLC...

We've also seen every single aspect of the game turn into a grind and RNG fest. Remember when motifs were books you randomly found and went "oh, neat, a motif!"? With the Dwemer one they introduced 14 separate pages for each motif, and with Glass they broke each of those into 10 fragments tied to RNG and a non-repeatable daily quest. Item sets are the same, layer upon layer of RNG, coupled with BoP, meaning that regardless of the effort you put in you may never see a particular piece of gear ever...

Not to mention the constant bugs - after TG launched I couldn't res using soul gems for 3 weeks, now since DB I can't use mementos; random long loading screens, especially in Cyrodiil, inability to use doors without switching weapons, roll dodging and/or killing your firstborn, in-combat status for minutes after any action has ended, rendering you unable to mount or efficiently recover resources...

In Matt Firor's view, which for all purposes is ZOS' view, these players are worth nothing to the company. Zero. I've spent north of €400 on this game, between the purchase and keeping my sub from the very first day. Apparently they don't appreciate my patronage, nor do they need it going forward. I'm happy to comply.

Your post saids it all and I'd encourage you to post it on reddit as well.

I resubbed when ZOS banned players after the CE explosion. I thought it was a sign of hope. Clearly that was a mistake as a lot of those bans have been lifted and many players that cheated are back in the game. And, people are still using CE without any consequence. So, I cancelled my recurring subscription this morning because ZOS can't seem to get a handle on cheating and their handling of the situation is deplorable.

But you don't have to sub to get the DLC. You have the choice to pay a one time fee for the DLC and have it forever or you can sub and have access to the DLC as long as you remain subbed. So they still stay true to the "No Subscription Required" model.

Also, I am keeping my sub as long as I am having fun in the game. Yes it sucks they supposedly let the cheaters back in the game but I am not going to let that effect me. I am still going to go on about my business and just have fun.

The reasons why I have left, and sub only intermittently, include cheating (not just recently, but ongoing since launch), Templar non-fixes/nerfs, lack of communication, and lack of quality with every DLC despite getting feedback and reports from the PTS (woo hoo - bugs).

But what is really starting to irk me is the heavy-handed response by mods on the forums. I'm this far || from calling customer service and trying to get a refund for the game card I bought.

I started playing on early access PC (beta does not count, does it?) and unsubbed when Craglorn came out because I do not like forced group content, so I voted with my wallet. I'm here for the Elder Scrolls lore, not for the MM part of MMRPG.

Resubbed when the direction turned to solo-friendly again, and have not looked back since. I love the current direction the game took with the latest DLCs, and I'm looking forward to One Tamriel.

    Edited for clarity.

    Cancelled sub yesterday.
    - Cheating debacle and ZOS lack of response.
    - Buggy laggy mess of Dark Brotherhood and it's total lack of content.
    - Firor's comments yesterday alienated every long term player who has supported the game since launch. We are the people who give longevity to an MMO, the ones who spend time and money and are the backbone of the community. But we don't matter to ZOS.
    - Bugs unfixed for months/years and promised fixes never materializing.
    - Group finder worse than ever.
    - Cyrodiil lag getting worse.
    - Loading screens getting longer.
    - ZOS lies.

I could list another 100 things but I will stop there.

Because trying to PvP cleanly is like trying to play baseball during the steroid era of the late 90s/early 2000s. Roids were illegal, but management looked the other way as $$$ flowed into their coffers and every game you played would pit you against cheaters.
Make Rush of Agony "Monsters only." People should not be consecutively crowd controlled in a PvP setting. Period.

Hopefully, Matt realizes that it is the longer term, aka hardcore, players that provide continuity for those who pop in every few months to play for a week or two. Hardcore players provide the dynamic environment that offsets the static part of the game created by ZOS. ... At least, for those who don't play the Solo version of ESO and don't want to interact with anyone else, which might be the majority of players, for all I know.

I play for the people, not the solo part of the game, although I am primarily a solo player when to comes to Content. ESO is not the game to play if you want the Skyrim experience, and that is partially due to ZOS's solo vision with questing and crafting. That is not their strong suit. So, when I tire of the people, I play something like Fallout.

On topic... while I advertise my ESO Plus status, I do not announce to the forum what my subscription status is. Y'all can infer that if my signature changes, if you care.

I subbed for the first year. I didn't renew because I felt the b2p model would not and has not justify a sub.

I canceled due to the recent cheats . When I heard ZOS state they were going to be tough on this issue , I was going to reinstate my subscription . I waited instead as the payment was not due for another month . I'm glad I waited . I don't feel like fully committing to this game now as their stance has become more lax . It will take a long time of consistent policy before I reconsider financial investment of any amount here .

    I stopped by sub because:

    1. Unbanning known cheaters
    2. Bugs and glitches that have been unfixed in over a year
    3. Creating a new game every patch in terms of class balance
    4. Class balance an absolute mess
    5. Gear and traits all pigeonholed into 1 way be it PVE or PVP
    6. Too many useless gear sets resulting less build diversity
    7. Immortal guards more powerful then Molag Bal
    8. Immortal Guards with an insane detection radius
    9. Broken CC Immunity in PVP
    10. No Immunity to being root or snared spammed.
    11. Allowing crafting writ exploiters to benefit from their ill gotten gains after 3 days of time-out.
    12. Lag and broken PVP since the Lighting Patch

Those are probably the main ones. i'd be a paying customer again with some policy shifts, but the current policy with #1 is simply unacceptable to me, and I won't play or pay until its rectified, and the only thing i can do as a consumer is close my wallet, im only one person, but its the only means i have.

    Many reasons for me:

    - Refuses to listen to the players regarding classes/abilities even when they start a thread on the PTS asking for feedback. Example is Dragonblood, Magicka DKs have responded with 100s of posts on it and they ignore it, it was post after post this last PTS and we got completely ignored

    - PVP lag and crashes, no explanation needed

    - Dont like the horrible CP system, lazy progression system that took no effort to implement by ZOS

    - No text chat on consoles, use to play on PC and that made finding groups 10 times easier

    - Its turned into a DPS epeen contest, DPS rules every other mechanic in the game

    - i know crafting bags are finally here, but when the community has complained about bag space since PC launch and it takes over 2 years to implement such a basic feature it really shows how incompetent they are and how much they completely ignore the players feedback.

    - Ignoring PVP in general, adding flags to a zone that already existed is such a joke for "adding" PVP content, all you did was add a flag to capture, That is a joke compared to content you have added for PVE.

    - Also over 2 years into the game and you still havent added 1 new weapon skill line or class to the game?

    - Horrible bandaid fixes like Vicious Death to try and break up Zergs to fix lag lol

    - Broken abilities like Invasion, they literally cant fix one of the most prominent abilities in all of MMOs, a simple charge. Really? How is this not fixed yet, if your staff cant make a Charge work then you need to hire new staff, its that simple. Abilities working when you press a button is probably the most important thing in a MMO.

Unsubbing because even though the TOS states that ZOS can permaban you for no reason and doesn't even have to tell you why, they choose to apply this to people who swear and not to people who go out of their way to hack the game.

Somebody at Zos made the decision to let one group go and not the other. Only MMO I've ever seen that operates on such a wildly random and unjust scale. It's spitting in the face of every clean player left in the game.

I'm on X1 and I am a happy subscriber even though the income is tight. I never thought I'd unsubsidized because I want to see the game thrive and my drop in the bucket is my way of helping.
I was able to look past the Orsinium crashing issues, but once the survey exploit patch day Mournhold and the other Capitol cities are crashing 9 times out of 10. I'm a respeccing fanatic and that hurts especially when I may have an hour or two to play and spend 25% of the time reloading the game after getting dashboarded.
But now after learning to cope with those two areas, we now have Dark Brotherhood. I now find myself getting a load screen everytime I enter or exit a new major city, ok, or am walking upon a new area to discover. This didn't happen before why do I get so many transition loading screens?
As well, my dashboarding issue has contaminated every area, it doesn't need to be a major city or orsinium any longer. I find myself getting dashboard ed at least once an hour, the textures are blurry most of the time if not blurry then extremely chalky. I was a happy subscriber but now I have even more loading and connection issues so it's hard to keep subscribing when a quarter of my time is spent reloading the game.
