Easy Peasy, Nice and Cheesy
Find the game's directory, probably like this
C:\Program Files (x86)\Zenimax Online\The Elder Scrolls Online EU\game\client\
In there, you will see the ESO.exe, and the ESO64.exe
Make a Shortcut to the ESO64 with a Right Click, Send To, Desktop as Shortcut. Use the ESO.exe if you just want the 32bit
Then use the shortcut to launch the game. Note, you will not be using the Launcher anymore, which is probably better anyway to not use it. But you will have to use the Launcher on Patch days. They may add the 64 bit to the Launcher at some point, but I there is no real reason to use it.
Yea, if your needing to download the update, the Launcher is kind of needed for that.....
As one of the posters said above, just keep opening and closing the Launcher, it will eventually quit complaining.

I've seem to have found another solution that I read somewhere: I deleted 2 .version files: the one in the the launcher folder and the one in the client>game folder. (Make backups)
I was able to update, although I got a weird black loading screen pre character selection, but it worked.
