Can anybody help me with this? I did multiple restarts already and did the REPAIR button but the same problem persists. Also did everything stated here http://bit.ly/1PmsDiq and didn't work for me. If anybody does know a fix for this kindly let me know, that would be a great help.

We've all had this happen. Never repair. Total waste of time. Just close out the launcher and open it again a few times. You will eventually get a good launcher. If you don't need to update then just run the game from eso.exe. Most of us do that to avoid dealing with the buggy launcher.

Having the same issue, reloading the launcher a dozen times, still happening. Tried repairing too with no success.

Quit using the Launcher except on Patch Day.

Use a Shortcut to the EXE:

Find the game's directory, probably like this

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Zenimax Online\The Elder Scrolls Online EU\game\client\

In there, you will see the ESO.exe, and the ESO64.exe

Make a Shortcut to the ESO64 with a Right Click, Send To, Desktop as Shortcut. Use the ESO.exe if you just want the 32bit

Then use the shortcut to launch the game. Note, you will not be using the Launcher anymore, which is probably better anyway to not use it. But you will have to use the Launcher on Patch days. They may add the 64 bit to the Launcher at some point, but I there is no real reason to use it.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Same here, I did everything that says here several times, nothing is working:

I need to use the launcher to update, eso.exe doesn't work because is outdated.

(Between the impunity towards cheaters/exploiters and now this, I'm not sure I have the spirit to re download 40 gb)

Yep I've tried those steps too - the download never starts, was running in admin anyway, and deleting the folder did nothing.

Yea, if your needing to download the update, the Launcher is kind of needed for that.....

As one of the posters said above, just keep opening and closing the Launcher, it will eventually quit complaining.

But for how long? I've opened it 50 times or more by now, it's ridiculous xD

If anyone found a solution please post.

Also if someone with good internet reinstalls, please tell if it works because for me 40 gb is huge.

I fixed it. Well, not actually a fix but I fixed the problem. What I did is I made a copy of the main game folder which is located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Zenimax Online. I made a copy the The Elder Scrolls Online folder and then I re-installed the game. After re-installing the game I didn't download instead I pasted the copy of The Elder Scrolls Online folder to where you installed The Elder Scrolls Online. After running it you can now click play but you crash immediately before you could see anything, to fix this just go to client settings then click repair then it will download all the missing files. This worked for me I don't know if it will work for you but trying this will not hurt you and is a very quick solution took me like 30 minutes for everything. Hope this helps.

    Thank you^

I've seem to have found another solution that I read somewhere: I deleted 2 .version files: the one in the the launcher folder and the one in the client>game folder. (Make backups)

I was able to update, although I got a weird black loading screen pre character selection, but it worked.

I tried this (just put the files you mentioned into a folder on the desktop, just in case) and the game is currently commencing an updating.

If it works, I will light candles in your honour. More news at 11...

PS: THANK YOU THANK, it worked!!
