Templars have a spammable heal as I'm sure you've noticed, if you ever tried to kill one. If you think templar doesn't have survival tools you are a fool at best.
Stamina NBs still have cloak, and most of them regenerate enough magicka to use it once per 6 seconds from 0 magicka. Magicka NBs can use it more or less infinitely, sure, but to imply that stamina NB "doesn't have access to cloak" is facepalm worthy.

All other shields were indeed nerfed to last 6 seconds, but Ward was the sorcerer only real mitigation. Did any other class had their mitigation nerfed by 70%? I don't think so... At the same time sorcerers also took nerfs to their only good heal that doesn't relies on pets, with Surge being shot down. Did other classes had their heals obliterated? I don't think so...
At the same time, we got no buffs, at least not to magicka builds, our utility is still pretty low... Even our DPS was nerfed with Curse no longer being affected by Thaumaturgy. Apparently the skill is suddenly not a DoT... Somehow... Even though it doesn't break Rune Cage... Eh, go understand...
Magicka Sorcers are always relying on Ward + Harness Magicka.
They will do same, what templars have shield? they are suffering more as they shield is based on health instead of Magicka.. I have V16 Breton Magicka Templar and Yes i do not have good damage shield...
What Nightbalde shield is? cloak? not everyone have Magicka NB....

Magicka DPS, Sorcerer when played correctly it seems like it is getting the second highest DPS in raids (from what I have seen).

Those pets have to be double bar to keep them, which takes away other skill slots. I know my sorc got nerfed (disclaimer: with his present build), so I'm going to experiment and see if I can create a new setup that works. By the time I put Bound Armor and pets on both bars, I start running out of skill slots.

The game has 4 classes and 4 basic PvE roles, Magicka DPS, Stamina DPS, Tank and Healer. Logic dictates each class should be the best at one of those roles, but that is not the case.
You say sorcerers are 2nd best Magicka DPS, I think we are 3rd, but eitherway... At the same we are also the worse at everyone of the other roles... So, 2nd best at one role and worse at every other. DKs are the best tanks and Stamina DPS, Nightblades are the best Magicka DPS and Templars are the best healers... Where is the balance in that? You can still look at this and say sorcerers are fine...?
No, the class is as good as the math for the class allows it to be. Games are math at the end of the day. Some players will be better than others, but class potential is all about numbers and sorcerers are lacking.
Any 'true' sorcerer will tell you the class has been at the bottom of the PvE pyramid for a long time and this new patch saw us to more nerfs not only to survivability, but also to damage and build flexibility.
Remember? PvE, the area of the game in which sorcerers are the worse class in every possible role?

and you're at your limit? there's no chance you could improve? that you have reached the upper echelon that you have already maximized the Magicka Sorc class limit that at this point the game is hindering you?
