Why ZOS?! Undaunted chests

Time to get a full prosperous set of Scathing Mage and Molag Kena so I can up the 7 gold I get from enemies to 10.
I'll be rich in no time

And I always wanted to max out my Bow with my Magblade so now I have a training Nereineth set to help me along.

Sarcasm aside, these traits really don't belong on end game gear. I get that people still aren't at CP cap yet but really training is an easy to craft trait that people can use to grind if they really wanted to and with all Gold locations being maxed out now, they are now entirely viable grind locations.

That is basically what everyone wants and should use end game pve and pvp (in a nutshell) depending on your build.

I am having no real issues in vet sanctum tanking with infused/divines, no need for sturdy really (my opinion).

I'd prefer if I got one of my Molag Kena shoulder in training instead of impenetrable (fairly sure that's what it is, can't really check), as I have now, since the trait is useless in PvE content. I've only 301 CP so every little piece with training counts.

If you hit CP cap, you'd wish you have the Molag Kena shoulders in Divines, you will have no use whatsoever with the training trait after you hit level 50. If you really want to use training gears, craft them to sets that will still work for your build, buy xp pots and have fun grinding. Set drops like Kena and other helm sets, should have a better RNG when it comes to traits. I don't mind if I open 20 undaunted boxes and get one or two prosperous or training, and then the other 18 in other traits, but more often than not, (especially in the past when well-fitted was the worse trait), you'll get 18 of those 20 in a trait you will just decon, and if you're lucky enough you'll get at least one or two with the BiS trait (but even that isn't a guarantee). The RNG wouldn't have been much of an issue if they just know how to balance it well. I would understand (but still disgusted at it, honestly) in the case of getting legendary mats (tempers, alloys, tannins, kutas and perfect roe), since those are rare items, but traits don't have rarity.

There was such high demand for these traits ZOS couldn't resist. Twelve people would have been severely disappointed.

This is a poll we made on the PTS. We anticipated this problem and the frustration it would cause so we put it where ZOS could see it on the PTS forum and almost 200 people participated. And then nothing.

Yet another example of ZOS going completely against the near unanimous will of their player-base without even addressing the community.

This is probably their attempt at getting more people to "get involved" with pledges and group dungeons for that one run in a 100 when they might, rng willing, get something useful. Probably why they made VWGT and VICP and VCOA easier so more people will consider pugging a group for them.

Just farm the god damm items you want.
Zenimax told again and again that they do not want players to get the top items with a single run or something.
It literally kills the purpose of playing the game.

Grinding for items "with the perfect trait" keeps you playing this game, and buying dlc / subscriptions.
Zeni will never give you all you want in a single day, so you can play this on weekends only for 2 months and never again

~30 keys. Everything was prosperous or training. And they were all Engine Guardian, Nerein'eth or Mephala.

So glad I saved up those keys now...

If you can name 1 good player who would use these new traits over any of the others I will yield. So, knowing that you can't. Please fix this.

Some of us who PvP like playing the game for its own sake. The rewards are a great bonus but the real fun happens after you are geared/ max and ready to fight.

ZOS shouldn't punish all of us just because some players like grinding the same crap over and over again and its not fun unless it takes forever to get what you want. Some of us enjoy the game for the games sake.

Until now they only came in infused and impen not good traits for shoulders in pve

They didn't need to add two more BS traits to dilute the loot tables even further. There was plenty of disappointment already with well-fitted.

Hey guys, im console and got a serious question for you:

Reading through I gathered there are a LOT of decon fodder in these chests. As I know I wont have enough keys to guarantee anything decent, I wanna make the best choice.

I read roughly 30% to get something decent now. Then additional two bad traits, meaning the 50% trait lotto (at best) becomes 30% (at best)

But I know they haveleaning odds towards the bad traits. Meaning mathematically wouldn't my odds for getting something good be to open the chests Prior to the dlc drop?

Whatcha think? Save or Spend?

Prolly no1 will farm vMA weapons anymore.
Staffs and daggers might still be slightly above break even point for pve purposes, but otherwise ur better off with regular weapon dmg enchants now that they got buffed.

I had keys on two separate characters. The first character actually got a few usable drops from it. Ended up getting enough Lord Warden shoulders to shingle a roof, but hey, now I'm prepared for player housing.

Second character I opened chests with 100% of the shoulders, out of 24 keys, were non-viable traits. I'd say about 2/3 of them were prosperous, the other third was training.

Do I think you should get the best in slot gear the first time you run a dungeon or get a key? No. The OP, myself, and others who have posted here have spent hours upon hours running content preparing for the awesome day we could maybe get a decent shoulder we wanted. All most people got were some elegant lining and grain solvent and enough emeralds and garnets to make at least Liza Minnelli happy, but not the players =\

OP I believe Impen was added to the Cyrodiil vendor now to cause balance since Impen is used for PvP it would make more sense to buy it with AP than force PvPers to grind Dungeon Dailies.

I think it's a good idea, it means that instead of praying to RNGesus you get guaranteed IMPEN when the vendor sells the item you want

EDIT: before I get hate messages let me clarify: Just so you know I do NOT support the whole "prosperous and training" thing I am simply referring to IMPEN.

Had 30 keys, both Silver and Gold (60 in total):

- Opens first gold chest: Molag Kena Med Training
- 2nd gold key: Nerien'eth Heavy Preposterous
- etc
- ...

60 keys, only got 3 useful shoulders: Divines EG Heavy, Divines Nerien'eth Heavy and Valkyn Skoria Light Sturdy (crap trait, but the best one I found since the others were Training or Preposterous too)

RNG is not the answer. Can you guys please get rid of everything RNG based and come up with a system that rewards ppl who put in time and effort instead of simply being lucky?

There are several other ways to implement something that keep people playing this game and prevent them from getting the best gear ASAP (which is what you guys want, right?) while at the same time allowing them to reap the right rewards at the end of it all.

RNG is the worst: it favors those who are lucky. And some of them do get the best gear ASAP

So please: no more lockboxes, no more gearboxes, no more Undaunted Keys, no more Golden Vendors, NO MORE RNG!
