What happens to those people who miss out on weekly rewards because of cheating?

Well crap. Each week I've been sitting near the bottom rung of the templar ladder, this week had a score that should have been secure given the historic trend but now he's off.

My NB's still on but not looking too hot either. Sorc should be alright.

If they have logs to track how many things you harvested (for the banker bans), hopefully they have something to track how many ultimates people cast and auto-ban every one of them.

But, yea, this week's weeklies are crazy. Some of it might be people doing one last weekly before the leaderboard rewards get diluted traits, but I wouldn't be surprised it a lot of it was also due to this hack. I was fortunate and got relatively clean runs and matched or slightly exceeded my previous personal bests on both of my vMA characters, but it was very stressful going in to my weeklies today knowing that my 2nd-best NB score ever probably wouldn't have cut it (and as it turns out, it wouldn't have).

this my 2nd weekly in VMA posted stamina DK!

Am able to hold my weekly position with my score but have not been able to produce a score high enough on my sorc!

This is troubling and one more thing to demoralize an already frustrated event that is VMA.

Really been turned off by this game lately as the rewards are not worth the effort.

I'm sure things for now are to focus on the release of DB!

Hopefully things get better!

If you lost the weekly because 1 or 2 people used some sort of cheat, your reward was not that garanteed to begin with.
Tough luck, i say. Better luck next week, get a higher position, that usually helps

With the full 15000 vitality bonus (no deaths) and zero sigil use, you need a 31 minute run to achieve 597K; 29 minutes would be 602K. 31 minutes is still unbelievably fast.

Lol, and i had my NB get a 508k score this week and got number 74 on the leaderboards being proud as hell.
Guess i won't stay there for long...

There is no way to prove? ZOS has data on all vMA runs. When I didn't get my flawless conqueror after finishing a run with 15/15 vitality, they "quickly" analyzed the data. I'm sure that when "that person's" run gets analyzed they'll see that he had power overload active 100% of the time.

Furthermore, do you seriously not see anything wrong with cheating your way to titles and gear? And as a result causing legit players grief...

Oh final thought.. you know it's bad when the 2 lines of defense are "no way to prove we did it" and "other people do bad things too".

EDIT: He may have been first NA, I don't remember. @Nifty2g would know better than me.

But Flawless doesn't mean anything on competitive scores, so there's that.

Account sharing is a completely seperate topic altogether and that should also be dealt with by ZOS, as far as proof goes i'm sure ZOS has ways of figuring out that these scores are impossible within the current meta, whether anything will be done about it is another story.

Even if he was, beating it doesn't entitle anyone to cheat their way through the next time. And it especially doesn't entitle all these people who didn't even have a completion before this week to cheat their ways to 500k+ scores.

I no longer use my flawless title proudly. Everyone thinks I cheat.
Its sad these exploits, ruining so much for those who actually play the game the fair way, and achieve progress.

What a defeatist attitude. Nothing wrong with legitimate griping (even though nothing will come from it.) But quietly accepting cheaters, to take the effort to write a post advocating this posture, that's some alpha surrender monkey antics right there.

597935 on the Sorcerer VMA is the main reason a leaderboard reset is in order. That score is impossible to obtain, to those who don't know Streak One currently #2 his run was 40 minutes and his score is 575102. The person ahead of him has that 597k which means that run was 29minutes. I don't believe that is possible at all unless you are spamming free cost Overload.

So it seems like cheaters are getting very unrealistic scores.

Yeah, I agree... those kind of scores popping up right now are unlikely to be a coincidence. But there's always the "what if" angle that ZOS is probably going to consider when there is no video proof of the cheater.

In PvP it's easy to gather evidence, in PvE... when it's just the cheaters in the dungeon - not that easy.

Maybe leaderboards should just be rolled back a couple of days & disabled until this issue is fixed.

@DDuke I sent ZOS a video of a legit run from Streak One to show the amount of effort and practice you need to put in for reference to anyone I'm reporting who suddenly pop up out of no where to red light them.
Granted it is speculation but it raises awareness and they might have ways to check their account and see if it is legitimate or not.

Stop trying to hide the fact it was exploited, the player has been found hacking it and going to have the score removed. Also stop acting that we have no idea what we're talking about when we've spent months in there and figuring out formulas etc, we know what is possible. And yes the run is around 29 minutes. Probably 29:50 something or 30:05

Nope, he wasn't the first either. I believe that was Dymence back on PTS and Cascaid got it on NA or someone else, I don't remember the name.
As for Flawless, you realise Phoenix set works in VMA?

ZOS better put the foot down on this...right now this exploit may be taking thousands if not tens of thousands of dollars of resources to address, and I am reasonably sure that it is making a mess of PR right now...ZOS should permaban them for not only exploiting, but potentially ruining a major content update for everyone.

Although in the meantime, those who exploited should have a KOS bounty until ZOS can get back to them in my opinion.

Yes that is true, but there are a few topics over on the Reddit and IGN forums that are posting names and screenshots of those cheaters and some very nice videos!

ZOS can only keep this quite here on the official forums..

Sadly ZOS is "Taking it on the chin" as you say all over other gaming websites forums.

And yes it " disgusts" me to see these cheaters destroying the leaderboards AND the economy..
It also "disgusts" me to see how badly things are being handled.

It is like the honest players are being violated and ZOS are standing in the same room handing these cheaters duct tape to keep us quite about it. heh..

Instead of perma banning them ZOS should script in code that makes the cheaters accounts enter all VMA and Cyrodiil campaigns with half stats and do half damage for the life of the account!! omuhgawd!

That would be the best punishment in MMO history!
