Though really in my experience I found it better to run 5/1/1/ light because I killed others before they killed me where when I was running the heavy armor the amount of resources returned was minimal (better for prolonged fights like in PvE) and I was just overall hitting far weaker.
The Light armor passives are too good for a sorc to pass up on IMO.

Yes the Heavy armor magic build is very viable. On PTS I poured 67 points into spell pen CP skill and used 2 swords both with sharpened and did the same damage as my magic light armor DK build did. Except with heavy I had ZERO resource problems due to the passives. Used Kagrenacs willpower blood spawn and swords were seducer. I was at 2k magic regen unbuffed 2k spell damage unbuffed. Was a very fun build to play and I will be using it this patch in pvp. I could care less about crit damage in pvp on my mDK. I know many will nay this but it is my opinion and the build worked very well.
For the record my mDK on live is currently in 5 light but with new DB update to HA passives I will be swapping out LA.

Yeah this is for strictly PvPThe Light armor passives are too good for a sorc to pass up on IMO.
Can you explain why?
I would normally be getting 20% regen from light armor, but with 2 pieces and vampirism being buffed I'd be getting 18%
The 10% crit I could get from the their Mundus or Magelight ect.?
Spell reisistance Passives are irrelevant as the heavy armor one gives that too.
Is the penetration alone the real decider here?

I wouldn't use vampirism in PVP if someone paid me, but then, I have a VD set. Sorry, I'm a part of the problem that makes playing one zero fun.
The spell crit is even better with both radiant mage light and light armor. It means most overloads crit. Unless someone is loaded with impen and crit resist.
Penetration is important since so many builds stack spell resist to the moon.
That won't help in PVE at all, because it requires you to take damage. If you're not a tank, you should be trying not to get hit, heavy armor or no.psychotic13 wrote: »-Gain 20 Weapon and Spell Damage for 6 seconds when you take damage, stacking up to 10 times.
Always been viable for PVP. You can do it for PVE, but I don't think it's worth it. The reduced cost and crit really do make a difference. Of course, if you like the feel or want to be different/unique then it should be alright...ish.That won't help in PVE at all, because it requires you to take damage. Oh, I didn't realize. I was assuming that you were talking about PVE mostly aspsychotic13 wrote: »Always been viable for PVP. You can do it for PVE, but I don't think it's worth it. Yeah I agree about PvE, but I want this to be PvP orientated.
