The problem is that people are just being blatant right now in order to bring attention to themselves. Once permabans go out people will just stop being as blatant. For example, if someone increases all of their stats by 20% it would be hard to identify them as a hacker. They need to come up with some kind of programmatic way to identify people using this.
And it would do a whole lot less damage to PVP.
I'd much rather have a few people that have 20% higher stats than groups full of obvious hackers.
Obvious isn't enough! You need proof.

You mean proof like all those videos of people spamming meteors that you can find everywhere?
Guys,
Perma ban can be seen as a good thing, as the thing that should be
I have been permabanned. I never got the reason why it was had been done.
As far as I understand, ZOS decided I sold gold.
I had lots of free time and was one of top10 guild traders in one Crag guild, collected 10mil gold with trading.
I exchanged gold to ingame crowns. I found it not EULA-breaking and thought it was funny. Yet ZOS decided I should be permabanned.
But I'm not talking about my reason, I talk about all the situation feedback.
Neither I neither any of you can't guarantee that ZOS would permaban players who really deserved it.
Permaban is a really harsh punishment.
Even 3 months is quite harsh.
Permaban is a heart-breaker. Cause there'd be not co guilty guys.
I promise you: they would be permabanned and they would have absolute zero chances to appeal.
So, please, don't go after permaban.

I state there would be banned people who not so guilty, who tested exploit and went on.
ZOS has too big data to analyze it completely.
They react to reports. They definetly do.
That's why I state there'd be people who not so guilty while lots of real exploiters would play on.

How can someone be "not so guilty" if they downloaded a program which name clearly states that its made for cheating and ESO' ToS clearly states that using those programs is forbidden?
Like I said... There can be kind of grey area if we're talking about ingame stuff... But this is not something that a honest player would do.

Ok, so maybe I am not informed enough on the topic. Is it clear players are using 3rd party programs for this? Because if so, I would decidedly vote for a permaban obviously.
Those who actually did the ressources exploit and earned millions of gold has been banned with a 3 day temp-ban , while this impacted economy it required a bigger ban.
If they fix ultimate exploit it will leave no impact on the game, so they should follow their logic and keep the 3 days ban.
I don't see ult exploit impacting more the game on the long than ressource exploit, so they should punish exploit the same way , if an exploit is permaban all exploit should be permaban, if an exploit is 3day ban all exploit should be 3day ban.
I have russian version of Terms of use. So I'm not sure I'd quote correct phrase. Yet I thought that changing Ingame Currency to ingame Currency doesn't violate the following statement:ManwithBeard9 wrote: »So you exchanged gold for a crowns, which have to be bought with real world money. Yes that's gold selling and they were right to ban you.
