We got Jakey as a sort of rescue when he was older and he already knew his name, if we'd had him from a younger age he would also be called something vaguely science/tech related, but you can't really go and change a pet's name when they already answer to it. :D

I was pretty stoked about finally being able to buy a Dro'mothra mount. I thought they were incredibly cool looking NPC's when I was questing in Reaper's March.

And then I went into the Crown Store and test drive one...

While attractive, that's NOT a Dro'mothra! It's a Soul Shriven cat. I'm ambivalent about the Soul Shriven lighting cat. I'm exceedingly disappointed that we couldn't be given a mount that looks like a mob already in the game. I mean the danged artwork is already done! All you had to do was re-skin the new Lion mount, or a standard Senche mount and you'd be done, other than the armor and bag bits.

    Consider me unimpressed and underwhelmed.

I can't even belive is 4000 crowns. Is it cool? Yes.. but it's a mount, I'd have a hard time paying $10 for it not because I'm hurting on money but, because I can't justify it lol.

    It's more than just $10.00.It's $29.09.
(I was corrected when I said it was $30.00)

I was just saying that even if it was $10 I still wouldn't buy it. The value of this thing is all in the eye of the beholder I guess.

Just under 20 quid, I bought one but I hope this isn't going to be an ongoing trend with raising prices.

Well, your purchase didnt help with that.

What I mean't was I didn't mind the price but any more would be a bit much. It supports the game but I don't want them taking the pee, which IMO this is on the border of.

You certainly have the right to spend your money as you wish but if you want someone not to do something you dont give them money for doing it. Every purchase of the mount is a clear message to ZoS: hell yea we'll buy mount reskins for 4k crowns, and you know what, maybe next time you can try 6k... we'll *** and moan but we'll buy them anyway. Especially if they come with over the top glowy effects - perhaps floating ghostly skulls would do the trick... mmm, ghostly skulls *insert Homer Simpson thinking of donuts noises* :P

At the end of the day, it's just a mount, a mount that you may not spend much time on at all if you actually plan on playing the game, unless you're in Cyrodiil all day or unless you like to sit in a town on your mount, just to try and impress people you don't know, then sure, go for it!

Even if ZOS make the prices higher and higher for the next mounts, great! I just know that I won't be participating in any of this because having ESO plus active for almost a year now, is enough for me. Eventually, the prices will be so high that there will only be a minority of players who'll purchase the expensive things, so maybe then they'll have to lower the prices in eventually... who knows.

This mount is essentially the same as the Senche Lioness for example, just a different tone on it. And you mark it with $40.

That is a brave move to do and also makes no sense what so ever how you can justify the cost of it when there really is nothing unique about it other than it's summon animation.

The Lioness is 1800 crowns this is 4000 crowns. Where do the numbers come from to consider that lol

ZoS are starting to show signs of not being intelligent, don't they realize they would of made more money if it were cheaper as more people would of brought it.

What would ZOS rather have? 1 person buys it for 4k or 2 people buy it for 2.5k?, you would make more money if both of those people brought it, less people are going to buy it because it's is out of many player's price range.

See this is what happens when a game goes P2W, if ESO was still sub-based we wouldn't have this stupid crown store and none of these unlorefriendly things.

Their accountants probably have access to more data regarding who's buying vanity items, so you really have no basis for saying what would be a profitable pricebreak for them.

Also, in what way does the sale of vanity items create a P2W game? The items you're buying from the crown store don't give you an unfair advantage over items you can obtain in game (and the combat-effective items, such as potions, are less effective).

Also, there's nothing wrong with the effect on the lore, which changes with each game. As long as the lore is internally consistent within each game, it's fine, since the lore changes as the series develops anyway. (I haven't seen any medusas running around since Arena, or met anyone "possessed by the Devil" either, have you?) I'm glad they instituted the crown store, which has removed the need for me to buy little figurines I never wanted from outside companies in order to get the vanity pets I actually did want.

Having said all that, I do miss the days of sub-only, just because of the change of population that it has brought with it.

But this mount is the coolest one released yet, even though the cost surprised me too.

Despite the amount of posts here sorry to say we are just the minority speaking out. Theirs something called the silent majority sadly and ZOS possibly made a profit on this mount. IMO nothing will happen but who knows? Maybe ZOS will surprise us.

Honestly, I make my decisions about what I think it is OK to spend on in-game items, same as everyone else. I'm not going to get upset because someone has a 4k mount when I consider it too much for me to spend on one item, I have my priorities, they have theirs.

I do think ZOS is missing a trick though, because I am not sure they realise that for a lot of people who like to collect, if they miss one of the collection because it is priced very high, the joy of collecting is effectively killed at that point and they may not bother with future parts of what they see as the "collection", even if they are cheaper. It may make more sense to have anyone with a collector spirit happy to spend 1-2k per month on a mount and have them hooked into collecting all of them, rather than have some priced a great deal higher than that.

But at the end of the day, it's only a mount. If people want to spend cash on that, fine, I'd rather spend my cash on other things.

This is one of the best looking mounts in eso, definitely an unique stuff. I saw a few already running in game so there are people with money willing to buy. And isn't that what matters here the most? Worth or not it's a relative value...

The number of these I have already seen around suggests that they were not off point on the price. It is clearly selling well. I would have expected a rather different outcome on the price per unit vs. number of units sold but I think they may have been smarter than me on this one.
I am currently worried for the future of ESO. Population seems like it is in free fall and the cancellation of the North America in-person gathering feels very much like pulling the plug. Kudos on fixing the in-game economy though. Clearly whatever gold shenanigans were happening the last couple years are fixed.

Absolutely way over priced... Mounts should be 5 bucks in my opinion. 4000 crowns.. That just makes me laugh. And it's because people buy them, is why they stay that price.

I'll also add that it's kind of lame to get a mount when it's first released, because so many people are going to be using it. I'd rather use a mount that will be no longer in the crown store after a while.

Personally I find it grotesquely overpriced.

But I think the price is most shocking because it is almost double the price of previous limited edition items. We're used to limited mounts costing around 2500 Crowns, so of course a mount costing 4000 Crowns will be a shock.

But then comes the question of "what do I actual get for my Crowns?"... Well, all you get is a mount with a fancy animation. Compared to the fact that you can get a whole DLC plus extras for less than the price of this new mount is the true shocker in my opinion! (DLCs go for 2000-3000 Crowns, two of which give a free pet as well...)

As an ESO+ member, I had been saving up my Crowns for this mount, but was expecting it to cost much less. I have the Crowns for it, but now I have to have a long hard debate with myself whether or not this mount is really worth it.

It is truly a shame they decided to overprice this item, as I could imagine they would sell way waaay more at a lower price, which would equal a much higher revenue. (Example: 100 people buy it for 4000 Crowns = 400.000 Crowns spent. 1000 people buy it for 2500 Crowns = 2.500.000 Crowns.... simple math and a better sales strategy really...)
