I see a very lot of people in PC chat asking me to join there Guilds.
I answer there questions in PC game chat and every time I get no response.
I don't get any real ingame invites made by the software to click accept.
Everyone asks over and over its like its a spam mod that was left on over night.
....
Now that I am level 10 no one responds to me asking if anyone is interested in joining any Guilds when I ask them if they would like to join my own Guild
Probably because they think I'm spam like all the others or something.
Question
What is the correct way to join any Guild if they want people to join them
And
If I invite people to my own Guild how can I do it so the people have not just a words only chatroom invite but they get a real invite they can click accept?
To my understanding as it is asking people to join Guilds in PC chat is a complete Waste of time for any real people because of all the spam bots.
Thank you.

    Best way to join :
    Yell in zone chat.

    Best way to recruit:
Get someone's name, guild roster, Invite.

Do you respond in zone chat or whisper the person directly? You're expected to ask for invite in whisper.

You invite people by opening your guild roster, pressing E and typing the UserID/char name. Or by using the interaction radial menu, I think the option's there too. There's also an addon which lets you do it straight from chat window.

There's not really a correct way to get people to join a guild. A lot of times, using zone chat gets you good numbers (the only problem is that a lot of new toons only play for a few weeks, then stop).

Best way to invite people to your own guild without spamming in group chat is to run dungeons or PVP with some people, and then say that 'you have a guild that does this, if you want to join'.

Actually, advertising a guild in zone chat isn't necessarily a waste of time. The guilds you see saying that they have 400+ people is true (for the most part). To give you an example, top PVPers will make a guild, then advertise it in Cyrodiil for members, and that isn't a waste of time.

Be glad you can see people requiting for guilds and that you can actually chat to members, Try being on console lol

Not only is it a huge burden looking for one because there is no text chat but once you're in a guild the communication is a pain in the ass because everyone is talking over each other because voice chat is the only option given to us.

yeah console social aspect its pretty bad atm.Normally when i get a random guild invite on PC i decline it,because in PC I have better options for looking for guilds. In console when i get a random guild invite I accept it as soon as possible. Its the only way i got in 5 guilds on console.

If you see someone advertising a guild in zone chat and you want to join the best thing to do is whisper them to ask, then they'll send you a proper invite you can accept. If you ask in zone chat there's a good chance they'll miss it because it can move very quickly and they may have other channels turned on as well. They may also be unsure it's their advert you're responding to. (Same goes if you're interested but want to ask them some questions first - whisper them and they should be happy to answer. If not that's a clue that the guild is not worth your time.)

Sending actual invites with accept and decline buttons isn't actually a good first step because you can only send them to one person at a time, and only to people near you (or people whose names you know), whereas one message in zone chat will reach everyone in the zone simultaneously. It's also worse for the person being invited because they get no information at all except for the name of the guild, so there is no way for them to decide whether the guild is right for them.

If you want to get people to join your guild a good first step is to think about what you can offer them - what is the purpose of your guild, what will they get out of being a member? Is it entirely PvP focused? PvE? Role-playing? Will you teach them to do dungeons or are you looking for people who are already experienced? Do you hold your own events? Then write an advert to tell them that and post it in places you think you're likely to find that kind of people.

I don't recommend simply sending invites to people because as I said above it gives them absolutely no information except the name of the guild. You might be exactly what they're looking for but they'll have no way to know that so they'll probably just reject the invite.

A lot of guilds use advertisements in the zone chat, mostly in the busier zones like the starter zone or the main capital zone. Craglorn and Orsinium are also hotspots for those.

If you want to join a guild, then a good way to do so is to watch those ads and see if any of them strikes you. Send a /w to the advertiser for more info and try to join them that way.

NEVER join a guild through random guild invites. I just don't trust those. If someone sends a random guild invite your way, decline

If you want ppl to join your guild, advertise your guild in the zone chat too. Try to send a clear msg about what your guild does, min requirements, TS3, etc ...

Very wise words and thank you for including every detail as I do get confused quickly.
I will do my best to figger out whispers today. I'll probably need to watch some YouTube on this very topic of Whispers.
    Thanks for the information.

They're visible in every chat window by default, in blue IIRC. You can send or answer them by clicking the name of the sender, it will automatically switch your chat mode to whisper.

    Just a question...

Do you have yourself set as Offline? Because if you do you can whisper all you want, but no one can whisper you back. To look open your friends tab and to the left of your userID is where you can set your status. If it's colored green you are set as online.

If that is not the case, perhaps your character or account name has a special character in it? There have been a few people in my guilds where they can't get whispers because of that. They show as online, but you type the name correctly even with the character or even by clicking the name and get a message that the user does not exist or something similar. I'm not sure if this has been fixed or if it is still ongoing.

If the name is the issue then it looks like it can be fixed via support... or at least could be in 2014... I would really try contacting them if it's not just you being set as offline.
As a follow-up to my previous post in this thread, if you are having issues with other players being able to send messages, in-game mail, or group invites to your character, we encourage you to reach out to our Support Team, who can manually fix the issue for the characters affected while ensuring you retain the special characters in your name.

I recomend you to wait with starting a guild, untill you are at least level 30 and have some experience with how this game works, and learn how you can communicate with other players.
