VMSA Nearly As Buggy/Laggy As Cyrodiil (Video Inside)

    I feel your pain man, I have just about given up on it now. Switched the game off on the last boss tonight. I am completely fed up with my button presses doing absolutely nothing at the worst possible times. Press right on d-pad to switch bars, then triangle to activate igneous shield followed by circle for vigour., and what happens? I flap my wings and die. Reflective scales is mapped to triangle on my 1st bar.

    I had a new one the other day. Stage 9 round 3, a healer decided to go invisible. She would only take damage from heavy attacks with my swords (not my staff) and the initial tick of my liquid lightening. All you could see was a gold orb where the tip of her staff should be. Couldn't kill her because she just kept healing. Had to jump in the lava and die.

    This place is a total disaster.

    Yo, I thought that only happened to me! Apparently it's happening to others. Had the same crap happen no lie a few minutes ago. Completely ruined my no-death run, because of it. It's a legit total disaster, bro. It really is. At least on console, I should say.

    Slow run speed + lag + snares + bugs/poor performance = gamer nightmare fuel.

    One of the bugs I experience is light and heavy attacks just stop working, which includes overload. The sound is there but nothing comes out and no damage is done, although ultimate drops. So no ultimate and no weaves, and the only fix is to die and respawn. The only other place I experienced this bug was pvp during prime time back in 1.7.

    Another nasty bug I experience as a sorc is on stage 9. Being snared by a blue ghost completely disables liquid lightening, as soon as the snare wears off I can cast liquid lightening again. It's 100% repeatable and I reported in game through the official method.

    Not related to vMA but related to pve; I noticed yesterday while leveling my baby dk that weaving a fire staff heavy attack with the fire scratch skill causes my character to get stuck in the heavy attack animation for a few seconds even if I let go of all controls. Doesn't happen 100% of the time but only ever happens with the fire scratch skill. Never noticed this with any sorc skill, except maybe overload but that isn't related to weaving fire staff heavies with skills. If this happened to my dk in vMA I'd be pretty pissed.

    Overload consuming but not firing hit me for the first time in there last night on Matriarch Runa, couldn't get it to start working again, tried swapping out of overload, interrupting and swapping bars, nothing so I had to wipe to fix it...... much disappoint.

    Also I get that heavy attack bug both on my nightblade and my Dk regularly.

    Lol, I get stuck in the heavy attack animation with an inferno staff every stage. I have the Overload bug happen every 2 out of the 9 stages. And usually at the worse moments.

    There's a lot of ***-poor performance occurring in VMSA on console. And I mean very poor. And then, to add insult to injury -- you have a very high chance to not even receive a weapon at the end. Fantastic! For your hard work of putting up with: One-shot mechanics, heavy lag, bs snares, and game-breaking bugs -- you have a very high chance of getting absolutely no weapon at all. Isn't VMSA great? /sarcasm

    I gave up doing it lately with how buggy it has been. Still haven't finished it, but I was consistently getting to stage 7 back in march, now I'm lucky to get past stage 4. More than half of the deaths are from desync'd attacks where I die then red circle of aoe is shown on my dead body after I'm dead.

I'm pretty sure their client was built with expandability in mind so it's already got all the underlying fabric to build and add new content. DLCs are primarily client side incarnations; they don't require significant modification to the server/networking side of things. Or I should say, I don't see any compelling reason to believe that it would be otherwise.

    From above videos I can see, that they ported bugs to different platforms. Good job.

    I usually get fps issues after about 4-5 stages (not rounds) in VMSA. According to the game's fps meter I should still have well above 24 fps but my actual fps drop constantly to below 10 and there is client-side lag. These fps drops seem to occur faster when I die a lot. /reloadui solves the problem every time though and gets the real framerate back to where it should be at 50+. This may be a problem related to addons or my graphics card (I used the latest Radeon Crimson Drivers, disabled all options that overrule ingame graphic settings), I don't know :open_mouth:

    As for server connection problems, in general, there's just the small delay for all actions and information of about 100-150ms that happens in every online game and no game can completely mask that (my latency is normally around 60-70 according to the ingame latency meter). But because VMSA is so difficult, I notice this delay a lot more in there than I do in other types of content in ESO (damage is being dealt before I see the animations). Apart from that, there is a problem with monsters sometimes having an incorrect position. I normally notice that when I try to interrupt them half a dozen times or do damage to them but nothing happens because the actual position of the enemy is not where I see it on my client. This is pretty rare though and happens maybe about once or twice per run.
    Otherwise I haven't experienced any connections problems or haven't had any lag (that's on PC EU).

    Yep, I was one my way to a no death run as well. I will not say that I never make mistakes in this place because I absolutely do. That being said, some sort of performance issue has ruined a no death run for me about a dozen times now. I have NEVER cleared the arena without at least one death caused by some sort of bug. The biggest one is that my attacks from my destro staff and overload both stop working until I relog. I have had the portal on the final boss simply fail to work. A few times I have killed the Stage 5 boss only to see trolls continue to respawn until I suicide in the water, causing me to fight the boss again. Not to mention, 4 or 5 times a run (often the entirety of Stage 7) my frame rate goes into the toilet. As a sorc, I can at least spam shields when my game turns to a slide show, but its still a 50/50 shot that it's a death.

    I really wish someone at ZOS would comment on why we can't download the bast majority of this to our own PCs and run it remotely. I feel like I should be able to run the arena offline. It's a solo instance for crying out loud. Anyone? @ZOS_GinaBruno

    I experienced so many bugs yesterday in VMA I had to quit the run. I was force dragged across the room a couple times. I was locked out of using abilities after a dodge roll. I would die to poison flowers and the poison flowers wouldn't have even exploded yet. I'd die as the flower's red aoe circle was expanding before the poison explosion. This a terrible problem and if I didn't have 150 ms ping at the time I'd have blamed lag. I don't know what the heck it is but its a huge problem.

    I don't know what your issue is, and honestly? It's none of my business. However! To come and make that petty complaint, when this type of stuff is going on in 1 of the 2 hardest forms of content available to PVE is seriously lame. It's bad as it is that it's ridiculously grueling and tiring. It's bad as it is that it is filled with lazy mechanics and one-shots. It's bad as it is that it's filled with snares on every stage...

    But! We are supposed to just sit back, and not name drop the community managers of legitimate game-breaking bugs? You're damn right I'm mentioning them. I want them to see this thread. I want them to have in the front of their mind the current state this game is in. Specifically this PVE crap-fest of bugs and lag.

    I'll tell you what. You go tolerate getting screwed over by things that should be tested thoroughly by the developers on something you've invested so much of your money and time in, and not speak-up on it. M'kay? Because me? I'm going to bring it to these developer's attention. PVP is already screwed up beyond repair, and you want me to just sit back and be breezy with PVE content is now facing similar issues that has been currently plaguing PVP for months!? N'ah, not happening.

    Err how to phrase this ? Say I'm the pizza maker and you just ordered me a pizza. Also you're unsatisfied with the time I need to make that pizza.

    First thing, you only need to order me that pizza once, no need to repeat 10 times the order, I heard and understood that first time.

    Second thing, making a pizza faster isn't not as simple as "Oh right, I just have to work faster". Also complaining about the time it requires to make the pizza once is enough, complaining 10 ten times won't make it more simple.

    Third thing, the ordering/complain goes through a line. While I'm busy listening to your not so usefull and redondant talking, other customers wait for nothing.

    Did I deny you the right to order the pizza ? Nope.

    Did I deny you the right to complain and try to solve the issue ? Nope.

    I'm just telling you that you're only making things harder for everyone.

    In my experience the longer the run goes past 1hr mark, the more fps/ping issues I start to go through. I basically do my runs late at night or if I "feel" like the server performance seems good from running around and not losing FPS :neutral:

    Lag on stages 2,3,5,6,7 delayed npc deaths when I run my magicka NB I'll hit impale 2seconds later the game will recognize it and they will die rng is terrible poison plants for Stam builds are a complete joke

    Yeah sucks bad, I've had died many times to bs *sigh* hopefully it gets resolved or at least bearable in Brotherhood.

    In my experience(xboxNA) I lag a lot more the more I die, if and when I manage to not die for the first 4 rounds I hardly experience any lag, but as soon as I die the first time I will start to notice a few things seem just off, not killing me yet just not quite right. The more deaths I have the worse the bugs get, add waves on stage 5 that spawn 2-3 waves at once instead of wave after wave, invisible adds that beat me to death, adds that are not where they appear to be, adds that just cease taking damage, taking damage from AOE that has not been animated yet.

    So after saying I wouldn't play ESO until DB launch, I decided to fire it up and buy the new mount (due to excess crowns from sales).... I also decided to do a quick run through VMSA, for old time's sake...

    Worst. Idea. Ever... The lag appears to have gotten worse than when I played a week or so ago. As for the bugs and glitches? It's definitely worse than Cyrodiil at the moment. Yes, you read that correctly. VMSA currently is filled with more bugs and glitches than Cyrodiil at the moment (at least on PS4-NA). I had never thought that to be possible, considering how buggy and laggy Cyrodiil would get back on Azura's Star (before it became a non-CP campaign)... But this? This is horrible.

    Bugs + lag + slow run speed glitch + snares everywhere = complete and utter nightmare fuel for gamers. Avoid the VMSA, until DB launches. I repeat, avoid VMSA. It's a huge mess at the moment. Huge mess.

    Interesting... So what happened in the first video I posted, where the Argonian Minder appeared to rubber band teleport themselves and me? While also managing to rip through a fresh Harness Magicka shield AND fresh Hardened Ward?

    Thats purely your own internet connection.

    I play VMA all the time and its ONLY lagging when my house is full of people using the wifi and as soon as they take it off the lag goes.

    So before you rush to blame everyone except yourself, check your internet connection lol
