Smiting for PvP - no questions asked.
This skill deals beastly damage (for comparison: crits only 1-2k less than Incapacitating Strike) and does that damage in an undodgeable AoE that knocks everyone down & leaves a big DoT that most people can't outheal.
Wiping zergs will be fun with it :P
I know. It kills magicka templars too.ryanborror wrote: »Smiting does more damage. I really dislike the fighters guild changes. I use smiting on all my magic builds. It especially hurts my magic dk as I don't really have a low cost ultimate now as ferocious leap and soul assault are a waste. They should've kept smiting magic damage and made ice comet physical.
Ok I've made up my mindGilliamtherogue wrote: »For a PvE Nightblade, DBoS actually out performs FDB, even on live. Soul Harvest offers 2% crit and 10 ulti on kill, which even the crit now out performs the weapon damage. Keep in mind that each Fighter's Guild ability now gives 3% weapon damage while slotted, so even DBoS has a gain to it. FDB now only gives 5% weapon damage while slotted, but retains the 8% when you add the passive. So 5% weapon damage vs 2% weapon critical on an end game stamina build actually loses by quite a bit, the crit goes much farther and scales in strength with group buffs and character progression, while 5% weapon damage is capped in power based on your base weapon damage (it does not stack with other % gains!)
On top of this, DBoS stuns a target, which unlocks the Exploiter passive from the Ritual tree to become active, which is a flat 10% damage bonus against any target that is stunned or off balanced, leading this to be EVEN stronger than FDB.
And in PvP I'd even take DBoS over Flawless, on non Nightblade classes, the stun and added damage is just too nice to pass up.
